Useful Tips about f14 after touch down on runway

5 When sufficiently slowed(100knots >)intermittently apply brakes to slow the aircraft, as full braking may also casue sideslip -
Hello, i want to share some of my experience about controlling the f14 after touch down on runway. 1 f14 performs very differently with f18 after touch down, f18 is much more stable and doesn't sideslip easily, f14 is much more likely to sideslip if handled incorrectly, thus more experience is needed. 2 Before runway touch down, make sure you set you anti skid spolier brake to "both" or "spoiler brake", preferable to "both", as it allows greater control and greater speed reduction. 3 Make sure your wheel brake is unpressed(if you have one), as the little pressure would be detected and would cause differential braking (if you set your left&right pedal brake seperately in axis command), that would result in immediate and significant sideslip after touchdown 4 For wheel brake, apply both wheel brake after the speed is reduce to below 100 knots, as it would make sideslip much less likely, if still sideslip, immediately engage nose wheel steering to correct it. F14 requires greater skill to fly than hornet, even after touchdown, don't underestimate the handling after the runway touchdown, it can still spoil your landing if handled incorrectly, and trust me, it is more likely than you think.

Tip about doing computer target bombing(ccrp) in f14a/b
Ddg1500 replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
A little question, is the left & right wheel brake pedals on the real tomcat, control the wheel brake on both side of the nose wheel seperatively, or one press on either side of the pedal, collectively stop both wheel brake left and right? -
Tip about doing computer target bombing(ccrp) in f14a/b
Ddg1500 replied to Ddg1500's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
the true proble is, some people like me, switch the hud mode to A/G already on the ground, which is wrong, it should be switch on in the air, it would make erro, and it ultimately casue you unable designate -
Here is a tip if you want to do computer target bombing in f14a/b If you see the diamond flashing constantly and cannot designate, don't think that it is the computer loading In fact you should move the diamond downward, then would find it noting being flashy and can designate target And don't switch Hud to A/G on the ground, it would make error

the rudder trim overeact during takeoff(instant trim setting)

Please, have you report my issue on ah64? -
check procedures Rudder trim overeact durng taxing

So i just still wait? for a imperfection that so salient? -
early access for 2 years means many problems have been ironed out, and yet it still happens

I've spoken for quite many times so i just cut short. The rudder trim during ground taxing is still off, still overeact. I would expect the a module this expensive to be pretty well polished, yet it still have such salient flaw. So Please, fix it. Here is my file Ground taxi Trim 6 .trk

the rudder trim overeact during takeoff(instant trim setting)
Ddg1500 replied to Ddg1500's topic in Bugs and Problems
I do tried central trim mode, honestly its even worse, so i would still stick to instant trim, and that's better yet still problematic -

the rudder trim overeact during takeoff(instant trim setting)
Ddg1500 replied to Ddg1500's topic in Bugs and Problems
Here, sorry for my mistake as i been raw on track file, please notice the excessive steer after rudder trim during taxing and increasing & reducing collective, which is due to a inadquately tuned rudder trim model that set the new center of the rudder excessive to the torque that casue it to continously over steer, furthermore, all my rudder trim performed in the track file is intended to hold the aircraft straight, i pick a rudder spot that I feel is right to keep the apache straight intead of oversteer, compenating the twisting force of torque, yet when I trimmed the rudder, the apache always oversteer, and that where the problem is, as i don't encounter any of those issue on mi24 Ground taxi trim 1.trk Ground taxi trim 2.trk Ground taxi trim 3.trk -
the rudder trim overeact during takeoff(instant trim setting)
Ddg1500 replied to Ddg1500's topic in Bugs and Problems
Here is it, do you see the overreaction after rudder trim during taxing on the ground , or the oversteer during rapid reduction in rpm( and is also corrected by rudder trim yet it still overeact due to rapid reudction in torque) and i know that when "tailwheel unlock" is selected the apache would be very sensitive in yaw and need to be immedately trim after increasing collective, and I flew dcs mi24(which also have a road wheel) or huey(which don't have a rudder trim) without encountering any of the issue of apache on ground taxi trim, those two helio performs comfortably nice on trim(espeically mi24) on any situation(transistion, hovering taxing etc), where apache would just like to over yaw or steer after rudder trim. which is probably due a not well tuned algorithm that set the center of the rudder after trim excessively left or right that ultimately keep it oversteer during taxing, real helicopter use a mechanical system to keep the new trimed rudder position as the new center, whereas in dcs, many players use only spring loaded rudder with no damper, as a result, using a algorithm to tune and compenate to simulate the rudder trim was produced, and that's where the problem is. i know that the ED Beta Tester say it is my perosnal issue of control and understanding of aircraft that lead to this problem, which i respectfully disagree, and before having a sudden fervent passion on apache, i have flew mi24 for a considerable while, while using both "instant trim(ffb friendly) setting on both cyclic and rudder using full virpil base and rudder(spring loaded no ffb no damper) , the rudder trim(or both trim) never overeact and was right on spot. I have realized that many of my previous post on this issue has been worked and i am very grateful, but there is still some loose end left, I will continue to accmulate my experience on ah64, and i hope issue can be solved. rudder trim taxi 3.miz rudder trim.miz taxi rudder trim .miz Rudder trim taxi 4.miz -

There is stil some rudder trim problem during ground taxi, and i don't rely on SAS to fly the aircraft, could you take a look?
