  1. Held off upgrading the cpu until the new 7000x3d chips came out. Have an upgrade path if I go with the am5 board vs the intel. Want to see how the 7800x3d does compared to the 7950x3d and 13900.
  2. Just scored a 4090 and I was looking to upgrade my CPU as I am currently running a 1600x on a Tomahawk B350. I was thinking about either an Intel 13700K or waiting until the new Ryzen 7000 x3d's come out next month. However as I was surfing the web I found out that AMD and MSI released a new bios that enables the B350 tomahawk to run a 5800x3d chip. First, has anybody done this and second does this seem like a cost effective upgrade that will enable me to put off upgrading the motherboard at least for another year or two? I would also upgrade to 32gb ram from 16gb and am planning to use this to play DCS and MSFS2020 in VR. I currently use a Reverb G2. Thanks for any insight.
  3. Currently running a 1080ti on an older AMD 1600x on a b350 Mb with 16 GB ram. I was able to score a 4090 at retail off of Newegg. I know I am CPI limited and will be looking to upgrade soon. Wondering if I should wait until the 7000 series x3d comes out or go with an intel. Will I see any improvement with just the 4090 on the 1600x, or should I just go with the intel now and not wait to see how the 7000x3ds perform?

    Simapp Pro

Just ordered a new winwing orion 2 joystick to replace my bricked thrustmaster joystick. Will run the orion2 joystick with the thrustmaster throttle. I am concerned about the problems I have read about simapp pro and DCS. I do not care if I use the rumble feature or not. Do you need simapp pro for any other functionality or is there a third party app that you can use?
  5. Miles, Just got my invoice but I have upgraded to the Reverb G2 from the Samsung, how do I update the order?
  6. Has anybody used the next level racing flight sim light cockpit. I am looking for a home cockpit for use with vr as I am tired of using my desktop and it is not capable of clamping any Hoyas mounts. Was wondering how comfortable is is and how steady it holds the warthog throttle and flight stick. Seems sort of flimsy just looking at it. But at 239, it is relatively inexpensive and would not take as much time as building something like the aces 2 or Akers Barnes. look forward to any feedback.
  7. Back up with January ship date.
  8. Reverb G2 on sale for only $399 for Black Friday. Reverb G2 HP.com
  9. No problem. I have had some long prints before, over 24 hrs, so 17 is not a problem. Thanks for the link to the build files.
  10. Propnut, Great job. I have been thinking about building a pair similar to the thrustmasters also. Would be interested in your 3d printed parts and the frame that you built to mount the pedals. Instead of using your saitek pedals, hempstick's site (http://www.seedling.org/The_Official_Hempstick_Site/Flight_Sim_3D_Models.html) has a fully editable model of f16 rudder pedals. I was able to import and edit them in fusion360. Let me know if you want the file.
  11. How does the odyssey compare to the rift. Is it worth the extra dollars?
  12. Looking to upgrade my the video card in my new build. My build is a Ryzen 1600X with 16GB ram, but I repurposed the Radeon 4850 from my Dell studio XPS that crashed. DCS would run on the old Dell, but after reinstalling the new updates from the DCS website, it constantly crashes on startup. I checked the log file and it appears to be the video card that is causing the problem. But enough rambling. Looking to purchase a new card and I am stuck between deciding between a 1080 and 1080ti. I have not played DCS or other computer games in awhile and want to try VR to see if it reignites that spark. Do not want the pay the extra $200 to $250 for the 1080 just in case it doesn't. So I was wondering what is the practical difference between the two in VR. Thanks for any help. Barry
