Carrier landing speed "You're a little slow"
RogerRamjet replied to RogerRamjet's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I know this thread is old, but has anyone asked ED to look into this? If not, where would one make such a request? -
This video will change your mind about F-14
RogerRamjet replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I was friends with a F-14 pilot for many years (he has since passed away) and asked him about fighting the F-15. His response was: "Above 30,000ft the F-15 has the advantage, below 30,000ft I feel I have the advantage." In most cases with that generation of fighter, it comes down to the pilot and tactics used... -
missing info LSO calls "You're slow" when on speed AOA in F-14
RogerRamjet replied to goodman.od.ua's topic in Bugs and Problems
I agree with mattag08, I get the "you're a little slow" call almost every landing in the 14 even though I'm exactly on speed. I get SLOAR a lot even though on speed is indicated and I catch a 3 wire... -
F-18 Nose wheel steering not working after landing
RogerRamjet replied to corb's topic in Bugs and Problems
Nope, dropped all my stores that time, nose gear steering broken... Edit: Ok, 2nd attempt was successful. You probably called it on weight, thanks! -

Possible, I didn't drop any stores or anything. I'll test... -
F-18 Nose wheel steering not working after landing
RogerRamjet replied to corb's topic in Bugs and Problems
I get the same. Launch bar is not down. On speed landings. Nose gear steering not operational. Have to shut engines down for repair. I flew several patterns tonight and it happened on every landing. Marianas free flight. I've done this flight dozens of times in the past without issue, but recently the nose gear steering fails on every carrier landing. I get the feeling something changed in one of the recent updates... -
I get this "You're a little slow" call from the LSO during final. I'm on speed according to the E-Bracket and I consistently trap the 2 or 3 wire. What am I missing?

When I first got my Orion setup, the A/A and A/G buttons would default to lit at system bootup. I cannot get this to happen anymore. I have the "Power-on default (LED on/off) for both checked in SimApPro. Anyone have a solution for this?

Hi, thanks for following up. I believe your first thought was correct, I was not within .7nm of the carrier. I just did the same exercise and made sure I was within range before calling the ball and got a normal grade. Thanks!

Thank you, I will try.

Not sure if bug or something I'm doing wrong, but... Mariana Islands F-18 free flight. After flying around the island for a while, I do a case 1 on the carrier. I use the ball call and hear the Hornet call in the audio. However, after the landing and I exit, the grade is "no proper communications." With my F-14 landings, I only get this grade when I forget to call the ball. Anyone else run into this?

While I agree that the trim moves a bit slowly, I don't have any trouble getting on-speed set...

I don't know how to take a video. The playback does not work, it starts but stops not far into the flight. When doing a cold start, the playback ends about the time I'm ready to taxi, the rest of the flight is lost.

Okay, let's try this. Can one of you with the latest release fly one of the case 1 pre-defined missions (see photo). Maybe I have to create a mission with the supercarrier to land successfully? If you could record the flight, I would appreciate comparing it to one of mine. Mine never seem to play back fully, not sure why that is... So, below T-45C 105, T-45C 112, etc. In version 1, I could land any of these.
