I was away from VR for a while, now I got a psvr2 and a PC adapter..Still higher resolution panels and no compression and latency compared to the Facebook HMD. The trick about the PSVR2 panels is always the super sampling setting, which you can set even higher now thanks to the help of DFR and DLSS 4.
For me it's crazy to see these two significant VR performance and quality boosts for my VR setup this year, without spending any money on hardware.
Big Thanks to @mbucchia and whatdahopper !!!
Care to point me to resources for updating dlss and use preset K?
How to tweak the brightness for the psvr2I had several QPro's but was never able to get past setup as they were trying to force me to register as a business account. I think the image will be much better than that of the PSVR2. I had a good PSVR2 and was able to turn down the brightness to where mura was no longer readily visible. The DP connection is certainly better than fiddling with the Quest Link cable. The problems with the PSVR2 are narrow sweet spot and glare. Other than that it has great HMD tracking and controllers seemed to track reliably. Problem with the QPro will be unpredictable mandatory software updates and that Meta can brick a QP at any time for any reason and there is no recourse. Another possible issue is that there might be a block on registration for a given QPro ID# so it would be best to buy one that is returnable for refund. -
But then you won't be able to watch behind, above and so on..The dream is to decouple the HMD from the "view". With a triple screen setup, you'd want your head tracker to move only the HMD, while leaving the view static. This would be an emulation of how a real HMD would work.
An idea would be to have the view fixed till the edges of the screen, I don't know if that is possible with the head tracking software or with dcs -

In VR there is motion reprojection (asw, motion smoothing and how every vendor calls it) .. that's the tech with synthetic frames specifically made for VR...Well, this whole time I've been disappointed that it's not aimed for VR - and after your update I realise that there's no point being disappointed - even the target audience is better off without it. Thanks for giving us those test result info!
Forward looking techniques like this (and Nvidia frame generation) won't work well for vr as it would add unwanted latency and artifacts.

Hi everyone....I have just ordered the moza ab9 base and the mh-16 grip.
I actually I use 2 monstertech chair mounts for my throttle and stick. I would still use it as a side stick.
On monstertech website they sell the front mounting moza ab9 adapter...but as said I have the chairmounts...So to use the moza ab9 with my chair mounts I should mount it backwards...is that possible? The axis are easily reversed in software (usually). Is there a setting in their software to reverse the axis?
I am also worried about the grip connector. They also have some base plates in stock, but I don't think that that is a good option. The base would sit too high, and would not be ergonomical.
I saw the the connector in the Mh-16 is free to rotate, is that the case?is it safe to rotate it 180 degrees?
Has someone a similar setup to mine and had to mount the base reversed?
I cannot use desk mounts as my desk would oscillate (I plan to change desk, but first I need to relocate, so for now I need to stick with chair mounts). Thanks to any owner for replies

Hi @Fox-one-76. I've tried numerous things but am still unable to reproduce this. Can you confirm that you aren't running DCS as administrator, e.g. right-click both your shortcut for DCS, as well the DCS.exe file being used, and then select properties and make sure "Run as administrator" isn't ticked. I also run with OpenKneeboard and Open tablet driver so wouldn't expect an issue there. Can you try without the streamdeck and DCSBIOS? This issue occurs in both VR and 2D correct? I'll re-run all my tests again in VR but would expect this issue to exist across both.
WhisperAttack transcribes the speech-to-text and then executes VoiceAttack with this, which will reuse the existing VoiceAttack if its already running. It's almost like this part of it is being blocked until focus is taken away from DCS. For example, when you start up VoiceAttack for the first time do you get a message "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?".
Is this VoiceAttack v1 or v2?
I'm assuming this profile is configured with "Send this command to active window". (which is correct)
null
The issue seems similar to what I reported a couple of days ago (I still didn't have time to try again).
Maybe buying voice attack v2 is the reply for me as well? -

Hi @VirusAM. Can you enable debug within Vaicom and then replicate this issue and then drop your C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\WhisperAttack\WhisperAttack.log file here. Please also provide a screenshot from VoiceAttack so I can see the full output from the debug. Can you also ensure that the Vaicom window is closed, i.e. completely closed so that it is just in the system tray.
Can you also try this by updating your settings.cfg file in WhisperAttack so that the whisper model used is tiny.en (I think it's small.en by default).
I see in your screenshot the message "PTT: use an active TX node" when this occurs. Vaicom has a timeout from when you release the tx button till it receives the actual command. This means that VoiceAttack gets the command, sends it to Vaicom, but due to it taking too long it won't do anything in the game. It seems like maybe there is a timing issue and it is taking too long from when WhisperAttack hears your command until VoiceAttack processes it after you release the button. What video card do you have? I have only seen this with one user before, it seemed to be a VoiceAttack issue of some description at the time. Are you on VoiceAttack v1 or v2? There is a profile tweak we can make that may help but would be good to see the whisper attack log file for this issue first to confirm.
You also mentioned that the default Windows speech engine works just as well for you as WhisperAttack. If that engine is working for you then WhisperAttack may not be needed, this was just beneficial for users for whom the Windows one doesn't work well. There is no ability to train this whisper model.
Hi..I will do what you ask tonight after work.
I have a 4090, and I am using the default small.en model.
Yes I have noticed the "PTT: use an active TX node" message. That happens only when I have DCS in the foreground.
I would like to continue to use WhisperAttack...my speech engine is trained a lot, I just tried something that in Vaicom worked well also before, but there is a lot of stuff I couldn't use well because the windows speech engine didn't recognize me (Airio stuff for example) -

I’m away for a couple of days so can’t dig in too much right now sorry. Can you confirm that you don’t have the radios bound to your hotas in the DCS controls settings for that plane. Based on that log for 80bytes the stop command looks to be occurring at the same time, or a few milliseconds after the start command.
Can you drop a screenshot of your VA Vaicom profile that is expanded to show all the press and release plugin actions for your tx buttons.
Can you also let me know which plane and tx button you’re using
On a side note, in your last couple of commands you won’t need (and VA won’t recognize) using the sender in the command, eg Enfield11
Similar issue to what is reported here....Like if when whisper attack is not in focus it doens't send commands to voice attack

Hi...I just started using this new integration.
I use it with Vaicom...I read all the instructions and applied it to my system.
I have a couple of issues:
a) When I am with the open whisper and vaicom windows in focus commands are sent into DCS. When DCS have the focus this integration doesn't work. So is this something that other users saw or just my particular case?In the uploaded picture you can see a couple of examples.
b) The recognition is not particularly better than the Voice Attack speech default speech recognition. There you normally train it. Is there any way to improve recognition for non native english speaker using this model? Thanks
PICTURE EXPLANATION
0) ready pre contact is recognized by whisper attack but not sent to Vaicom and DCS. and in the end I need to use the keyboard
1) "Tanker Approacching for refuel" is recognized and then again not sent to Vaicom and DCS.
2) Now I switched focus to the Whisper Attack window with alt-tab (so dcs is in background) and "Tanker Approacching for refuel" is sent to vaicom and then DCS..so also the DCS radio sent the request for refuel to the tanker.
Thanks everyone for attention -

The next update will add the ability to write on the screen, I have it almost ready;-)
Great...that's really cool, I really look forward to it.
Any plan to implement also other functionalities to the kneeboard part?Like custom kneeboards (from custom folders or from the device) and kneeboards from mission/theater?
Thanks -
Ah ok..now I understand your issue.
Ok...with the vkb configurator you can to button to axis, what I don't know is if the two levers are just buttons or there is an analog axis behind the scenes.
I need to check later today if that is possibile-

I simply bind to wheel brakes in dcs (i use those as brakes with a modifier)Hi, I am trying to figure out how to set the 2 front paddles on my throttle as toe brakes. I have watched the videos and nothing directly pertains to the paddles. I read forums and found nothing. If someone could explain how to do this step by step (afraid I will something up on the throttle) it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I am an idiot when it comes to using programs like this lol and thank you for any help. -
Thanks for your reply. With the previous version you also have access to all modules in it, so there is no need to buy them again. Only new modules will be added in DCS UFC X.
As for the Kneeboard panel, it's a pretty good idea what you wrote, worth checking out.
About the kneeboard part, an openkneeboard equivalent for android/ios tablets would be really handy and useful-

hello...does someone know if Moza base is compatible with Realsimulator grips?
Thanks -
Hi, I did purchase (in the past) dcsnav and dcs ufc apps.
Now if I understood correctly, the F-16/F-18/F-14 (and so on) in both DCS UFC and DCS UFCX are the same...so is that correct that I don't need to buy it again? But I just need to buy new ones if I want to use modules not in DCS-UFC?
Which is the difference between the 2 apps? (other than the kneeboard and the new modules)
Also are more features planned for the kneeboard? For example, the ability to write on it (with the tablet pen) or to load also from mission/theater or custom folders similar to what is possible with open kneeboard?
That would be very important for me. -

Does it take live data from dcs world or it is like a tablet that needs to loaded manually with docs and mission info? -

Ci penso tutti i giorni praticamenteAspetto molto più questo mezzo che l’F-35!
Volare con questo mezzo sullo scenario di Kola sarà per me un bel tuffo nel passato.

There is already an unofficial poll and vast majority of people is happy about it.Like many others, I have my concerns about the F-35 module. Going by the faq it's 85% guesswork and hearsay. We don't need that in DCS. DCS' niche is realism.
IMO postpone the F-35, and put the team that would work on it, to work on the other modules that need finishing. Not to mention core stuff, ATC, Vulkan, updating old modules to current graphics, etc. I welcome the 15C because that's feasible. But a half-baked War Thunder F-35?
No thanks. Those man hours are much better spent elsewhere if just updating the F-5 took 7000 hours.
Do an official poll and ask your community what they rather want. Current modules finished, Core work, asset packs, updated modules, or the F-35. Then put the people at work in that area.
My $0.02
I am one of those, hoping also that it will bring the needed updates to create the right environment for it...like AI par foes (j20, su57, f22), ai improvements and better ew environment.
