X800pro - <20FPS - what am I doing wrong?
Bug11 replied to Bug11's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
You think that anyone who just bought an X800pro has money left over? ;) -
I just bought a radeon X800Pro and am getting frames in the teens whenever there is any action or near cities. I have a 1 Gig of memory and a Pentium4 3.2. If there's someone out there that could give me some tweaks or suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Another reason to get 1.1 out.....

nuances and irony? I guess having some people behaving like galen thurber calling someone else galen thurber is ironic :D There's no nuances there. None at all. It's neither clever nor subtle. What it is is childish and shameful. To borrow some words from Carl and yourself - boohoo and quit your crying. You have a problem with him send him a love letter or something. Whining about him here just lessens you and bores the rest of us to tears. Now - can we have beers please? -
here is the penny arcade version:

Why? Because you are a dick? ;) disclaimer: this is meant to be humor.

I can see that I can ADD to someone's influence, but no ability to deduct. Maybe there's a secret group of hooded LOMAC Ninjaboys who have the power to deduct ;)

What's with this Galen stuff? Oh it's a besmirchment conspiracy!!!! (Thanks Carl :D - that's classic) Seems that they don't think much of either the LOMAC or the Falcon communities over there. Though wolverine, what makes you think Galen would get a hernia? His FW posts are pretty much slamming the way Falcon has been. -

Yes, but have 'many of us' flown an F-16? I've flown light aircraft - gliders and single engined and a few flights in a helicopter. LOMAC for sure feels closer to how flying the aircraft I have flown, but does a viper fly like that? A truck doesn't drive like a motorbike - so how can a truck driver say if a motorbike simulation has it right? Real viper pilots saying Falcon feels accurate to them is convincing to me that Falcon is simulating the Viper accurately, regardless of the opinions of those who've likely never gotten as far as sitting in one's cockpit. Same if a Falcon fanboy came in here saying LOMAC's flight feeling is like you are driving a bus. I bet they've never flown an SU either. -
Ok Conspiracy Carl ;) I can't figure out any reason why a moderator would deduct points from someone because he asked why someone else started bitching about a group of people from another sim? *shrug* Just seems stupid to me.
-
strange system - we had ruggbutt making some comment how this new F4AF would have the Falcon simhaterbois starting up, I wasn't sure what that meant so asked and I get reputation points removed? looks more to be a 'LOMAC fan clique' rating than anything useful.

I had a reputation point removed because I asked this question. WHY? -
Humorous: Group therapy for flight simmers
Bug11 replied to arraamis's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
No one is perfect - ED included? I could accept that if all reasonable effort had been made. The lack of communication on the english side of things is not 'imperfection' but something that they simply don't do. Wags is doing as good a job as he can but it falls short. This isn't a bash of ED - but it's simply wrong to explain lack of effort as being 'imperfect' as to make that lack of effort acceptable. -
ED: Can I sell my Downloaded Version?
Bug11 replied to Dusty Rhodes's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
with the starforce activation scheme you could potentially install as many copies as you have activations? wow. -

I guess you'd know better than real Viper pilots ;) -

Start up again with what exactly? I'm not sure I understand what you are talking about. -
Why do AMRAAMs do this? Pictures attached
Bug11 replied to Kula66's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
fortunately the slammer's seeker logic is far better than simply 'going for the biggest target'. -

If the missiles were going for chaff then wouldn't they be going towards the chaff? Though slammers shouldn't be anyway. I can see chaff 'shielding' a target if it is directly between the target and the seeker but if any offset is present at all the slammer shouldn't have any problems with the intercept. That IL-76 picture seems to indicate more of a pursuit ballistics issue than anything else. I would think that the devs should be focusing their effort on what is present and getting it working right over adding new features to justify charging for an addon - feet of clay and all that. -
The A-10 is completely unsuited for the SEAD task where there is anything better than manpad's and light AAA present. This is just one of those holes in the flyable planeset for the NATO side. The only way around it is to have AI perform SEAD or just not make realistic scenarios incorporating static defenses.

I want to change my downloaded Fc1.1 to CD version!!
Bug11 replied to kiamia's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Definitely interested, but once CD version is out. You may need to make an international draft and mail that however. We can discuss this over PM. Drop me a message. -
Stuttering 1.1 problems What is going on at ED??
Bug11 replied to SilentEagle's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Could it be predictive positioning of the aircraft within the multiplayer code? For example - say the position of aircraft is enumerated to all clients every 500ms or so - the aircraft remains travelling along the vector that was enumerated last, and when the next set of data is received the aircraft position is 'corrected'. If the frequency of the enumeration is controlled by the available bandwidth between the host and the clients it might help if higher bandwidth settings are used. This doesn't explain single player - but that may be a similar sounding but different issue. -

Bug11 replied to kiamia's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Unless ED goes tits up in a couple of years, leaving those without the CD version unable to play it. Shit happens so best be prepared. Having the CD version is insurance against that potential problem. If there was a choice between the activated version and the CD version I would have bought the CD version. At the time there was not. I would be happy to pay the difference - that would only be fair - and have ED mark my activation number for my download copy as 'all used' so my download version can't be activated again. Problem solved. I'm sure all of those people who purchased the simulation immediately to show their support for ED would appreciate being given some consideration. -
i think he was saying there hasn't been an official word on what actions ED are taking on a resolution to the starforce issue. 'can't talk about it' isn't a resolution. the starforce problems are a 'marketing issue'????? i hope it's not the marketing guys making a decision on this. i sincerely hope that consumer satisfaction is the driving priority.
-
It would be nice to see work done to fix the featureset present already to make lomac as good as it can be. Hopefully FC sales will inject enough money into ED to allow them to do so.
-
oops i think i sounded a bit harsh there Stormin.

if i remember correctly the 200+ fixes number was DIRECTLY related to bugs in 1.02 that were fixed in 1.1 - not this introduced stuff - and claiming it is is just plain silly. It would also be absurd to include the number of bugs you fixed DURING development of new features in any statements relating to number of bugs fixed. I had read here that a dev said the network code went from synchronous to aysnchronous - yet it's not in the readme. I would kindly request that you await a response from the developer rather than making up one on your own on their behalf that serves no purpose. Thankyou.
