Thanks for your response, this issue gave me headaches for the last couple of days and i couldn´t find a source with further information. Ok so it makes no sense using VD with an AMD GPU at the moment. I hope they´re working on a fix or else i just spent 20 bucks for nothing. And thanks too for offering me an alternative with the Video Guide, much appreciated Sir.

I have problems starting DCS World via Virtual Desktop Beta with AV1 codec on Meta Quest 3. Q3 is connected via wifi 6 to PC (virtual desktop streamer beta), i don´t have openxr toolkit, steamvr installed and don´t use Oculus app. Launching the game via virtual desktop streamer. PC launches the game but my Headsets turns black and music is played from virtual desktop which it just does when it´s disconnected. 2 times i made it into DCS Main Menu but as soon as i wanted to start free flight the same happened. 1 time i made it in with AV1 and could start free flight but when i went back to main menu and wanted to start new free flight it happened again. Have to close game on PC and virtual desktop via meta desktop and also close desktop streamer on pc and kill background process of VD and VDS in taskmanager (if i don´t do it and try to get into VD on Headset i´ll return to black screen with music no menu etc pp). I don´t know what´s the problem with AV1 codec as with HVEC 264+ i don´t have this issue, it works properly. System: CPU AMD 7800x3d, GPU AMD 7800xt, RAM 32 GB 6000, Samsung SSD Nvme.2 970 1TB I´m new to VR and i´m kind of lost finding a solution.

I think i´ll go for the dedicated router, i´m kind of exhausted from fiddling arround with configurations and settings the last days. I wan´t to fly proper sessions finally.

Is it possible to make my Motherboard´s wifi adapter a dedicated access point? And if so how? I have my wifi adapter setup as a hotspot from ethernet (which is the lan cable connected from general router to pc) to Wlan (wifi adapter of the motherboard). I have nothing else connected to this hotspot but my headset. Cellphones are connected via the general router´s wlan.

I just tested a little bit arround and i locked my frames to half in gpu driver as you mentioned. No judder or jittering anymore, it´s smooth but i think i know what´s the biggest problem here. My latency is spiking randomly and constantly so when i´am flying i can fly for a few minutes and all of a sudden i have big latency spikes which causes fps to drop significantly and a dia show starts until the latency has normalised again and that occurs constantly when flying. I have a wifi router on my motherboard which is 6ghz but the internetprovider router seems to just support 5 ghz so my wifi signal just gives me 5ghz. Is there any way to stabilise the signal to prevent those latency spikes or are the spikes happening for an other reason? I havent installed Fraps, i just used the VD performance overlay to check metrics.

Lower bitrate seem to have improved the artifacting issue a little but it´s still there. I went down from 300 to 100. I also encountered heavy framedrops, microstuttering, judder and jittering. Latency jumping up and down like crazy is also a thing. I feel like vd in combo with steam vr gave at least an overall smooth experience while flying and didn´t had the issues i encounter via VD only.

I changed Codec to 264+, disabled Use optimal resolution and increased streaming bitrate to 300 something, SSW always enabled, Snapdragon Game super Resolution enabled. One of these changes caused the game now to be streamed to headset i guess it must be the codec and therefore the higher possible streamingbitrate. At least i can launch it now but i still encounter some awkward problems when flying. When i move my head fast while flying i get kind of big black artifacts and it takes a few seconds for the picture to return to normal, when moving the head slowly it´s kind of ok. My latency is quite high in the 60s sometimes higher and the ingame latency jumps all over from 27 to 100 randomly. I´am sorry for bothering but im new to VR and i don´t know much about tweaking for performance so any suggestion would be much appreciated. I just deinstalled openxr toolkit and removed the forcevr/openxr command from the shortcut. Tried other codec but still the same problem. The headset turns black, music from VD is played the game on desktop opens up. I have to close VD from Meta desktop because i can´t open the VD menu, when i restart VD it´ll be stuck in dark with no menu but music playing. I then have to end desktop streamer on pc and via taskmanager manually close all virtual desktop related tasks as they don´t seem to close by themselves when closing on pc and headset. After all that done i can enter virtual desktop again. I´m lost i think the only way for now is to do the steam vr/VD combo until i find a solution anywhere. I myself can´t wrap my head arround this strange problem.

Ok that´s odd because i couldn´t start it the way you described so i searched google and all mentioned either steam vr or oculus app in combination with VD. Does the preferred Codec option in desktop streamer somehow play a role? I choose AV1 10bit as my GPU is a amd 7800xt and as far as i know it supports this codec on the other hand how can this be the source for the problem as it seems to work fine when steam vr runs too. I feel like i´am in a Maze trying to find the solution.

First i installed VD non beta but it wouldn´t launch dcs world on headset without steam vr. Then i installed steam VR too and i could play in VR. Then i started to search for ways tweaking settings and read about that OpenXR could give better performance so i installed OpenXR Toolkit Companion App and added --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR to the DCS Desktop shortcut path. I deinstalled steam vr to see if i could start DCS without steam vr but it would result into same problem i´am facing now. I reinstalled steam vr and thought ok without it it seems not possible. Today i stumbled over this Thread and i decided to give it a try with the beta version of virtual desktop but it´s the same problem again.

That´s exactly how i tried to do it but for some reason it doesn´t work for me. I too use the standalone version.

Hey there using a Meta Quest 3 and for some reason when installing VD Beta and starting DCS MT my headset turns black. I hear music from VD and on PC DCS is opened but not streamed to my headset. Do i still need to have steam vr or oculus to launch the game? I deinstalled steam vr to see if this will work but it didn´t i´am a little confused how to make this work. I lhope some of you can help me out.

Hi guy´s, i just recently started flying in DCS via VR and i encountered an annoying problem while using the handtracking capabilities of my VR Headset. Under Settings VR i have checked the handcontroller box nothing else just the first box. Now when im flying my Joystick inputs seem to be interfered by the vr hand in the cockpit and the cockpit stick. The cockpit stick immediately jumps back to center allthough im still giving input, so no matter what im inputing through the joystick in RL it won´t be fully executed in VR.That makes maneuvering allmost impossible as roll and pitch commands are not properly transfered. Same problem occurs when handcontrol only with controllers in hand is activated. The problem does not occur when turning off above mentioned features but that leaves me just with the mouse to press cockpit buttons. I would prefer to use the vr hand so it´s just a smooth transition instead of clunky device switch movements in RL. Is there any way to solve this weird issue?

Nobody here that can help me out with the problem why the aircraft banks right without input during the downwind leg? This problem also appears in some other training missions, when flying my own missions or instant flights it doesn´t occur. I have checked my bindings and as far as i can tell there is no binding interferring. Would be nice if somebody can bring light to this issue. btw Thanks Bankler for this trainingmission it´s a treat (excluding my banking issue on the downwind leg)

Is there any reason why the aircraft suddenly starts banking slightly to the right on it´s own when in the downwind leg?
