  1. thanks everyone, can now confirm the module works fine with 2.5.6
  2. I assume if it were't relatively straightforward to fly, the Stability Augmentation System wasn't doing its job right...
  3. I have 2.5.6 as the final version that works on Windows 7
  4. I am using DCS on an older computer running Windows 7. As such, I am restricted to the last version that supports it, obtained via Steam betas. If I buy the UH-1 via Steam, will I get a version that works with my version of DCS?
  5. That being said, it's a lot of fun and challenging, with few bugs. Think about it, an entire combat flight simulator system with a helicopter model completely FREE!
  6. Is there any interest in improving the AH-6 flight model and systems further, maybe creating a V2.0? I'm thinking about taking a stab at it in order to learn more about helicopters.
  7. Interesting....I can't seem to develop enough power to take-off. Maybe stuck in ground effect? Also, when I roll over and the main rotor hits the ground it spawns more rotors, which is kind of funny.
  8. I was asking because the Hind has wheels and can do rolling takeoffs
  9. Since the MI-24 can do rolling take-off, is it also able to land on a runway with some forward momentum?
  10. I just want a Silicone WSO and go brrrrr brrrr with the turret gun.
  11. The DI version (25 years old) claims they model VRS & RBS and cross-coupling, but even at very slow forward speed the helicopter seems pretty stable in pitch and roll. At high speed it flies like a fixed wing. I haven't tried to hover yet. I haven't tried any DCS helicopters yet, my yardstick is FSX with HTR, I plan to buy the Huey next time it comes on sale and of course the Hind, but maybe after the bugs have been ironed out.
  12. I just got the original 1990s Hind simulator from DI on GOG because I've always wanted to try it. The flight model on realistic is challenging, will the DCS Hind be sort of similar in flight characteristics?
