[Launching DCS Standalone with SteamVR on Quest 2 possible]

Adding game to Steam library only works if the game is of Steam version.

 

I cannot use standalone version without starting the Oculus app either, but I can fly in VR this way so I cannot complain.

I too used to find my seat of F/A-18C is a bit too high, then I find the button for "recenter VR"

I switched to the standalone version. Clean install. Able to start in flat screen mode. Need to check with VR, though

I have started fresh, uninstall and install the Steam version, and renamed the "saved games/dcs" directory to something else, still not even the splash screen showed up. I am trying the standalone version from new to see if it works or not.

I reinstalled, renamed the whole savegame/dcs directory, still no go. When the game attempted to start, it created the savegames/dcs folder and only the mission folder inside and then nothing else. Very disappointing.

Cannot even see the DCS World splash screen and crashes back straight to desktop in less than 3 seconds. Reinstalling everything and see if it works or not.

BTW, finally tried the CASE 1 Recovery training. It works wonderful, and let me know at each checkpoint what I have done right or worng. I wish I could radio the LSO though.

I use the training missions from the 2.0 beta 2  Apart from moving the directories around, fixing the description.lua contents, I can't make them to work as the space bar pause is not pausing, and I cannot click the Esc to select the blue side after entering the spectator mode as I am told.

Change the Falkland mission come with MB-339A to A-4E-C with 3 Zuni and 2 gunpods. It is even more fun! Roll-to-crash a few times even though I trimmed the roll axis to 70% max.

Some early thoughts (2.0 Beta-2), not a pilot so cannot comment of the EFM:

 

1. It is a fun plane to fly, and yes, I can get myself into a spin! Yay!
2. Light, responsive but surprising weapon capacity.
3. Not as easy to learn than then MB-339 but not too hard, but yet to get into NAV and radar.
4. The engine response is slightly better than F/A-18C, no as powerful though.
5. Great low-level handling, but feeling "fast enough".
6. Crazy roll rate, fun to fly around and in dogfight, but a pain to line-up for ground attack runs.
7. A few issues here and there -- like the radar altimeter knob is very hard to turn counterclockwise.
8. Surprisingly easy to land on a runway, than F/A-18C i.e.

I find the Mk.77 "explodes" like a regular bomb. Should it work this way, or is it the limitation of the current DCS?

Edit: There is a "per application setting", but there is not "auto" setting for each app. I guess that is for the use of SteamVR only, not the games running on it.

IDS or both. Viggen is on my short list so anything other than American or Russian hardware fits my bill.

i have made a trigger which fires when the user plane is above AGL of 1500. However, I find that the trigger fires only after the plane is above 2200 in radar altimeter. What have I done wrong?
