Thank you, that answers my questions. It looks like the LCOS automatically pops up in close combat like you said.

I'm new to Lock on, and have never played an Air-to-air game before. 1: How do I pull up the gun sight? I have a bind set, but it pulls up the static sight instead of the LCOS (computed sight with ball/line). The russian jets' funnel works. If I get a radar lock in the F-15C, then the LCOS pops up, but this is pretty useless in the situations where you're using a gun: You're looking at the bandit, not at your radar trying to get a lock. Shouldn't need a lock for a basic computed gunsight. 2: Can I get the gun sight and the Aim-9 seeker simultaneously? Should just have an LCOS and the seeker together so you do do a quick uncage/pickle between cannon bursts without switching modes.

Isnt zooming on the HUD kind of cheating?
Dominoes replied to Avatar72's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Sorry if this has already been posted: Using the zoom feature actually simulates better what a pilot would see due to the way the FOV works in game. Depending on your monitor setup, your screen is likely to only take up about 40 degrees of your field of view. Using this cramped of a FOV (zoom level) in game all the time is not practical, since it would be like looking through a straw. Alternating between a practical (high FOV, low zoom) view and a realistic (low FOV, high zoom) one using zoom is important when straffing or identifying targets. Screen resolution is also a factor. -
I have this bug too. Was about to post a thread when a search for "white square" didn't come up with anything.

Are you using the Logitech profiler or in-game bindings?

JTAC/SEAD frequencies in multiplayer missions
Dominoes replied to Dominoes's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I looked at all of the stock mission briefings: Serpent's Head and Tail are the only ones that are missing the frequencies. This should be an easy fix. -
I was playing Serpent's Head and Tail online today. JTAC and SEAD communications are required for these, but no frequencies were listed in the brief. We could not contact them using the default frequencies. What's going on here? Are the frequencies listed somewhere else? Is it a bug?

Advice to mission designers re waypoint placement
Dominoes replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I think this confusion is caused by the tutorials showing you how to locate targets using waypoints that are on the ground. Then players assume that's how you find targets, and get confused when the actual mission way points are in the air. Simple way to target the ground below the waypoint: TGP to boresight, point at approximate waypoint location, ground stabilize, slew TGP over the waypoint icon on the TAD. -
Joystick recommendation needed...

I'm using a g940 and love it, but the warthog would be better for this game. Dcs A-10th doesn't take much advantage of ff. -
What do the two attack headings mean at the end of the JTAC line? Is that the range of headings to perform the attack on? How do you locate grid coordinates, ie with the CACO gives you coordinates in SMERCH hunt.
-
Force feedback in addition to trim force feedback: IE control surface resistance, buffeting, weapon release.
-
Suggestion: ATC Freqs in mission briefings Mission descriptions should include airport name and tower frequency.

Air to Air training is broken in final version
Dominoes replied to Dominoes's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Yes. -
I like how the missions folder has been cleaned up, and it appears that there are many new fixes and addons. I did notice that Force Feedback has not been fixed - deadzones and response curves don't follow the trim, and there is no ffb other than trim.

It will not progress past the seeker lock to target 1.
-
Set it up as a zone assignment in the Logitech software.
-
More than making it optional, its behavior should be altered - when using a FOV axis, the current behavior does not make sense. It will zoom out a few seconds after start, but moving the FOV axis a little will reset it to where it should have been before the zoom out.

TrackIR freezing after hibernate
Dominoes replied to SuDepp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have this problem to. The power off device setting posted here and on the natural point forums does not work. Very frustrating having to restart TrackIR every time I want to play. -
I have the same problem. I have to use a persistent profile instead if app detection.
