I did try this in BETA 1, but he just got back up to 500+, set him to around 250-280 in editor. Not had a chance to fly BETA 2 yet, hopefully he will respond to me this time.

Haha, nice to see others are having issues with the refueler going WAY too fast for the poor A10. I got so frustrated that I locked two Aim9s on him and tried to blow him out of the sky.

So I see there is a temporary hotfix... how quickly will it be fixed with a new build released? Hopefully it wont be a few months...
-
Changelog would be brilliant...
-
Yes, but also more than 15x smaller in size! The cockpit resolution is due to WIP texturing, I did notice full screen on external view though the blotts etc, windowed looks quite nice though.

For quality comparison... I shot this @ 2048x1152 And I shot this @ HALF frame (1024x576) First time shooting half frame for me, but was very pleased with the results. (All recorded at 30FPS)

Also had this... blew my fuel lines to crap and lost 50% power in right engine while fuel was spewing from my wings, eventually the engine ran dry and shut down which was not a good day.

X52 + TracKIR 5 = Less than TM HOTAS... Just say to the wife its value for money as you're getting 2 products for less than one... and get her some chocolates.

Added to previous post, TIR profile is nothing special really, works for me. The mission was literally some tanks placed on a waypoint, nothing spectacular!

DCS: Eurofighter would make my eyes light up... Or DCS: AH64 Longbow.

Litening II... Will we see an upgrade? The litening two has been on our aircraft since 1999, as some will know the litening G4 has been phasing in and provides higher image quality and target ID. Will we be seeing an updated litening pod for the A10 in the future? http://www.es.northropgrumman.com/solutions/litening/ http://www.deagel.com/news/Northrop-Grumman-Completes-Successful-Flight-Testing-of-LITENING-G4_n000003685.aspx :megalol:

You sure you put the power switches on lol? I think i've taken off without turning batteries and AC power etc on (turned them all off after engine start), my stuff died mid flight and I was in a panic. Redoing the start-up tutorial fixed the problem for me (and taking notes).

No radar or dogfight, so how hard can it be?
rexehuk replied to PlainSight's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
How hard can it be... put down a russian aircraft carrier and come back if you survive the encounter ;) I prefer having no ground radar etc, makes you take your time heading into the AO as you have NO idea what threats exist. Nothing more exciting than radar lock warnings going off and seeing a lone missle trail heading at you. -
My left elevator was borked, had trouble getting the nose down enough with flaps due to lift generation, took the chance and landed without them as I was on a nice approach and AOD. Sorry about the view switching... that is down to my editing skills :music_whistling:.

Yeah thanks! Been reading up on the takeoff speeds, I've been taking off at 160-180 due to the loads I've been carrying, apparently I'm meant to be climbing from 120 onwards though. Everyday I learn more and more :). Thank you for the nice comments anyway, shame I'm not a video genius, could of made it much better with some editing skills! I assumed you guys would of liked to see the bombs drop on external view, if that's not the case I'll do it all hardcore from the cockpit next time.

This is what I done... - Read manual briefly regarding munition types etc - Do the START UP tutorial and pause at each section, making yourself a checklist on paper (use the ESC key to pause and write down the steps) - Do the navigation tutorials and learn how to use the avionics ystems - Do the weapons system tutorials (Make notes on the INS guided tutorial) - Understand how/what/why the TMS / DMS and CHINA hat do in game and what SOI (sensor of interest) and SPI do. That should get you in the AIR within 2-3 days and 10 hours of tutorials/reading.

Haven't got them working as I want yet... should be able to drop a CBU from over 8 KM and have it explode over the target area scattering skeets, ingame it seems to just explode at the moment at 8 KM a few hundred meters below you. Afaik there is no settings to configure for the CBU105 etc that I've been using, assumed it was a bug for now unless someone can correct me?

Just thought I'd share this with you as it took me a long time to upload. The following is takeoff / combat / landing footage from an A10 mission I have just for testing. Watch in 720 or 1080 resolution for best experience Hope you enjoy it! Combat starts at 5 minutes, beginning is there is you wish to see me prepping systems etc.

Was actually just about to head over to BETA forum to discuss that... Multiplayer "works" but have serious issues with CTD on ALL clients depending on the mission. I shoved some units down and a few A10 clients and it worked fine, then made a proper mission and all clients CTD, also happens with the weapons training MP map. If anyone can shed some light on the above problem it will be great, I can just exclude whatever is crashing the game for now. You should buy the game anyway, the training missions are great and I'm up and flying after 2-3 days, fully competent with the LITENING pod and most of the onboard systems, it's a really rewarding game.

Bottom line is important yes, sure that is a nice quantitative measure of "success" but not the only factor they have to consider when releasing a product. Customer satisfaction and generally in these communities the aftercare is what matters to this market sector, if you look at other simulations such as Arma 2 you will see that the community appreciate the firm in question due to the support after they have purchased the products, including new features and patches. A dedicated server should be included to service the community and those who have purchased the game, not incentivised by how to make money out of it. I'd imagine including dedicated server support would increase revenue anyway, albeit by a small fraction due to the size of this gaming sector and the type of people who play. It's nice to see the dedicated server is on the cards Tharos, I look forward to it.
-
Yeah, I understand fully the need to get a return, forcing those who play to buy it twice to run a server though? Would be easier to TIE a dedicated server license key to the key of a legitimate user and still keep the authentication service in place, that way it would reduce piracy. Sure this will leads to some administration on behalf of ED, but requestion/authorisations could easily be done via their website and hook into their authentication servers. The files are freely available to download anyway from the website, so not like they need to be specially distributed. Alternate Solution: When installing ED KA50 or A10C, user is presented with INSTALL DEDICATED or FULL GAME, dedicated requesting their original game key, and either generating or asking for a dedicated server key input also.
-
Dedicated Server - REQUEST I own all of your games, and the one thing that has been missing is the ability to host a dedicated server... With DCS A10 being released, the want for a dedicated server has only increased. Can people who support the idea of a dedicated server please post here! All other games have a dedicated server exe which can be ran, or standalone package which doesn't require you to buy the game to host. Such a feature will help expand the multiplayer front, an aspect I think many will take up with the introduction of the A10, and future compatibility with the KA50.
