  1. Yep, that's what I started putting together as well. It seems to have to do with George AI and having him scan for targets. I think just about all my crashes across the affected missions happened when having him search for targets.
  2. I do have some, yes. You think that's causing the problem? I'm part of a virtual squadron that uses OMM to run certain mods for the multiplayer server. I can try disabling them and giving it a go. I haven't had other aircraft/campaigns though, that I've noticed. I'll disable and give it a go on the missions that crashed. ETA: I just tried M03 after uninstalling all of my Saved Game and Root Mods through OMM. Still having the crash at pretty much the same spot. I'm starting to think it has something to do with George AI because it always seems to happen around the time of having him slave for targets.
  3. One more for M07. It's so strange. It's like every other mission works fine. Lol. Got through M06 no problem yesterday. Just tried M07 and crashed. I'll skip this one for now as well but here's the report, if you need it. EDIT: ETA that sure enough, M08 worked fine but just tried M09 and crashed on the way to the target. So strange that it seems to only happen with every other mission. Oh well, guess I'll have another half of the campaign to play through once it's resolved! On another note, I'm going to stop sending the crash logs at this point unless you need more of them for any reason. Just let me know. dcs.log-20241226-195513.zip
  4. Here's another for ya for M05. I just tried it again after realizing there was a video driver update for my card. Made it a bit further (WP2 instead of WP1) but crashed just the same. Here's that log file. dcs.log-20241225-185315.zip
  5. So I ended up skipping that mission because it kept happening. M04 seemed to work ok and was able to complete it. Just tried M05 and having a similar issue, though only tried once so far. Here are all 4 logs for you (3 yesterday should be M03 and 1 today is M05). dcs.log-20241224-192837.zip dcs.log-20241224-195147.zip dcs.log-20241224-210721.zip dcs.log-20241225-180725.zip
  6. I'm having an issue with DCS crashing during (I believe it's) Mission 3. It's the first "dark" mission (I believe it starts just before dawn). Take off from a small FOB adjacent to a large industrial complex. Fly with my lead to WP1, then WP2. At that point, JTAC gives the 9-line and asks us to call on contact with targets. Lead and I start to loop back around towards the targets, across the river, and then DCS crashes. I've done this 3 times and it's happened each time at that exact point. Now, I will say there could be a caveat here. I can see from other posts that people have made it past this mission, so obviously it worked. However, there was a fairly large update from DCS this morning. I actually noticed the George AI menu is a bit different then yesterday. Anyway, I'm wondering if this could be a bug with the new update? I'd be curious if others have the same issue after the update.
  7. Actually, to add to my above bug with the wingman, it did end up working but strangely not until I was on the way back to the FOB and had to change freq back to FOB freq (131.6). Once that happened, the script of Ugly 5-1 "lifting" happened and the wingman took off, just in time for me to land. Lol I've waited for quite a long time at the begining of the mission and the "lifting" communications never happens.
  8. Came here originally because I was having the same invincibility issue. I even set myself to invincible to make 100% sure and yeh, could not kill anyone. That said, it does seem there are some triggers you have to pay attention to. The text doesn't stay on the screen too long so it's possible to miss it. Make sure you hit spacebar when you see the red smoke. Then there will be another prompt for a nine-line. Make sure you hit space to that as well. Then you should be good, but just pay attention as I think there may be another spacebar required for calling yourself "in". Once you get that, you should be good to go and enemies are no longer invincible. Side note, there is still a bug for me with my wingman. Even though the radio comms in the beginning says "Two is ready to lift", the other Apache is not started or spinning up and will not follow me on mission. It just sits at the FOB. I didn't see any prompts other than the initial spacebar to request takeoff (which gives the "two is ready to lift" message) but, as I said, he never takes off with me and it ends up being a solo flight.
  9. Reporting back. Looks like 4th time was the charm. Was able to play through it with no errors so this confirms it was something funky on my end. Glad it worked! (I tried to just delete this thread but didn't see that as an option)
  10. Just curious if anyone else is having an issue with DCS crashing on this mission? I've played it 3 times now and all 3 times I've had it crash around the same point. It's usually right around getting to Waypoint 1. I'll get the DCS crash pop up but can actually play past it (I play in VR). However, usually within 5-10 minutes of that, it just freezes up completely and VR goes black. Not sure this has anything to do with the campaign but wanted to ask to see if anyone else had this issue. I'm going to give it one more try (number 4) before skipping it. The furthest I've gotten is taking out my 100mm gun target and that's it.
  11. Not sure about the issue with CBU's. I didn't have that problem. Granted, my first time through I used CBU's on the convoy and then didn't have them for the house. Lol. I replayed it, and kept the CBU's for the camp. Did my 2 drops with them. Worked perfectly. Then my wingman dropped his GBU's and camp was gone and mission succeeded.
  12. Hey @Badger633, one minor thing I noticed in Mission 9. The briefing states for me to drop 6 high drag MK's on the runway. However, once the plane spawns, it's only loaded with 4 of them. I haven't run through the mission yet so not sure if it's a typo in the briefing, and you only need to drop 4, or if it's a load out issue and I should manually add 2 more. The outer 2 pylons have AIM-120s. Just wanted to verify. TIA Added snips (sorry they're out of VR)
  13. Yep, I got it. I just wasn't expecting them to be that far away. I think I must've searched close to the runway for too long and they got pretty far from. They're there tho!
  14. Ok, I figured it out. The convoy IS there, it's just nowhere near the airport. Def keep following the main road that heads SW and you'll eventually find them! Just wasn't expecting them to be that far away but I guess they're speeding since they just attacked the airport! I'll leave this up for anyone else that may run into this.
  15. The radios for this campaign are VERY simple in terms of the amount of channels/frequencies. Even if you're very new, this is a great way to start learning correct radio use. Make sure you're on the correct frequency on your Primary (I think it's preset 3 usually but double check the kneeboard), then make sure you are using the comm menu for THAT radio and you should be good to go. It's worked great for me so far, up to mission 7.
  16. SOLVED: SEE MY SECOND COMMENT IF YOU GET STUCK ON THIS AS WELL. So far, really enjoying this campaign. However, currently playing Mission 7 and I think something might be broken? Took off no problem. Linked up with Pala at WP1. Cruised in formation with him and Ram 2 throughout several waypoints. Get the 99 message that a nearby airbase had been attacked. Pala takes off for high CAP while RAM 2 and head over to the coordinates to check out the airfield. Big fire and we're told an insurgent convoy was seen heading SW but not precise coordinates. Basically saying we have to find them. I've been flying for 20 minutes back and forth, following every road at low altitude and have not seen a single vehicle for miles away from the airfield. Thinking maybe the "southwest" direction was wrong, I started checking northwest and southeast. Nothing. I even turned on labels thinking I'd easily spot them that way. Nothing. There is no unit anywhere within 10's of miles that shows a label. Just to see what would happen, I did the "Spotted convoy" with the F10 menu and now I'm cleared hot on em, but they're still nowhere to be found. Can you double check this? I'm thinking maybe the enemy units didn't spawn correctly? Thanks
  17. Ah! Perfect. Thanks for that!
  18. Hello, very cool campaign. I'm a few missions in. One issue I seem to be having is with the comm menu. I can't seem to get it to come up. I know there are occasional prompts for the "F10" menu functions but I can't seem to get to it. I thought it was my HOTAS bindings but even the default keyboard command "\" doesn't seem to be doing anything. Is it just me or is this a bigger issue? Oh, also, while I do love flying as realistic as possible with modern jets, I typically do turn on unlimited ammo for flying the P-51. I'm getting better at it but still a work in progress. That said, it seems like this campaign overwrites the unlimited ammo option? Is that correct? I'm ok with it, just confirming. Thx!
  19. Hello, just starting out with this campaign. Right at the top of the first mission description, it states that there should be a player guide found within the campaign documents folder, shown as: MODS > CAMPAIGNS > FIRST IN > DOC... I don't seem to have "CAMPAIGNS" folder within my MODS folder. Wasn't sure if it could be located somewhere else on a Steam install? Other than that, my DCS is installed in whatever the default path was and obviously all my DLC should be in the same place I would think: C:\Users\<My Name>\Saved Games\DCS\Mods I do have a Campaigns folder here: C:\Users\<My Name>\Saved Games\DCS\Missions\Campaigns\en but I don't see anything called "First In" anywhere here. TIA! ETA: When I do a file search for "First In" the only result is the campaign cover photo/jpeg located within my DCS folder in the ImagesShop folder. ETA2: Wondering if someone can tell me what the exact filename is for the document, so I can search for it. Thx
  20. Thank you! Dumb question but anyone know where I need to save the new updated mission 10 file? I don't see it in my DCS Campaigns folder. I only see the campaigns that I downloaded myself from the user files. Not sure where the "built in" or downloaded campaigns are stored from Steam.
  21. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong as I didn't have this issue with any of the previous 9 missions. However, for Mission 10, I start up in a cold Hornet sitting behind 2 Tomcats. I go through the motions of starting up my jet. Shortly after, the radio checks begin with all of the mission aircraft checking in, including myself. A helicopter launches off the bow of the ship. So far so good... Then I see 2 Hornets from the stern of the ship start taxing up towards CAT 1 and 2. However, the 2 Tomcats haven't budged (external view shows no pilots in them so they're just cold and dark). The 2 Hornets keep slowly edging up and up and up until the nose is basically into the side of the Tomcat. Still no movement. Then I get the screen telling me to taxi to CAT 2, except I can't go anywhere because there is a traffic jam of Hornets and Tomcats in front of me. I've sped up time rate quite a bit to see if anything happens but no, the Tomcats never move, thus preventing the mission from every starting. Ended up having to skip it. What am I doing wrong or is this a bug of some sort? Anyone else have this issue?
  22. EDIT: I did just find that there was an update for the campaign which seems to include updates for 3 missions, including 14. I'll give that a try. Sounds like it could be an issue with the enemy AI getting stuck in the trees and not triggering the next event. Anyone having issues with Mission 14? It's the one where you have a long flight into Russia and there are 2 camps on either side of a town which your guys are infiltrating for a hostage rescue. I get out there. Get all the radio messages to hold, hold, hold. Then once they get into the town I get the green light to attack with guns and rockets. Good guys throw some red smoke to designate targets. I end up killing all red targets in that town but nothing else happens. I even take out the AAA trucks in Camp 2 (which a flight of F-16's was supposed to take out) after which I get a message that the F-16's finished their mission and are RTB. Other than that, there's a line of enemy vehicles leaving Camp 1. With no other instructions I kill those off too. At this point all red forces are dead but I never get anything else. Seems like I'm missing a trigger of some sort. I've flown this same mission probably 6 times now but just can't seem to get past the point of Blue forces asking me to kill the red forces in the town using guns and rockets... What am I missing? TIA
  23. Ah, ok, that makes sense. Gotcha. I'm pretty far along and really enjoying it so far. I would def be interested in a more difficult play through at some point down the road. Thx!
  24. Thank you. As you mentioned, I just skipped that mission. I definitely saw what you meant by there being something "big" that happens at the end of that mission, while reading the briefing for the next mission. I do have one question/comment: Is there some sort of setting on this campaign with regards to enemy kills? As in making it easier/more beginner friendly? I noticed that killing multiple enemies that are somewhat close to one another seems to be easier than I'm used to. For example, in the mission where you have to use the gun on the taxiing F-4's, I shoot one but they both blow up. Obviously there is always collateral damage but I've noticed this type of thing several different times throughout the campaign. It almost seems like you just need one direct hit on one of multiple targets and the rest will explode. Just curious. It doesn't really take away from the campaign at all but I'm just trying to figure out if I'm imagining this or if there is actually a setting making this happen. thanks!
