Returning to the Hog after a LONG time. I'd really like to get into some MP at some point, just wondering how viable the jet is in some of the more popular servers? I really like the idea of clearing out a bunch of SAM's so friendlies can make a strike, stuff like that.

Does this actually train you? Or does it assume you already know how to fly the A-10A?

Before DCS World, I had an X52 Pro Profile that used the ministick to slew in DCS A-10 and Blackshark 2. Now it doesn't work in DCS world, I'm assuming because control assignments have changed. Does anyone have a working profile?

Thanks all, stupid me didn't realize the Free Flight - Ramp Start is absolutely perfect. I've been running it over and over, and everything is sinking in. I can successfully start the bird up, take off, naviagate and perform an ILS landing using Divert. I guess I wasn't super clear in my post, I have done the training missions but want to practice what I've learned without the cueing. I will check out those Maple Flag missions.

Looking to just get the basics down, i.e. Ramp Start, Takeoff, Navigation, Landing. Are there any missions around that just do this?

Good read, thanks. Now that I'm reading about it, the bird did seem a little stubborn to fly. Thankfully the AA didn't seem interested in firing back, so I moved in and cut him up with the cannon.

Started the Operation Medvedev camp. and just finished the second mission, where you escort the Hind to drop off troops. I found the AA and when I locked it up and fired Vikhrs at it from approx. 3nm they kept hitting way short. I had to go to Cannons and shredded the AA up no problem. I had the laser turned on, and have never had problems hitting with them before. Should I have reset the laser? I did turn it on early in the mission.

I use this one, which has most things programmed in game. I've changed a few, but use it as is for the most part. For example, I use the hat switch on the stick for starting and stopping my countermeasure program. http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3330552/X_52_pro.html#Post3330552 The big thing I changed though was to use this profile in SST which only has the thumb stick on the throttle as slew. It says A-10, but it works great for Black Shark. I found trying to slew the SHKVAL on the stick much to difficult while trying to trim and fly. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58484 So in conclusion, I do majority of the programming in game, and add JackBauer profile to change the SHKVAL slew to the thumbstick. I use TrackIR as well, so that may change your options.

I installed this, and it seemed to erase my campaign progress.. any thoughts? I backed up the 3 files.

I'm assuming those don't work in BS2?

Just an update, I'm on mission 8 of the deployment campaign and loving it. What a great mix of scripted events to keep you interested. Wish more sim campaigns were like this, not just a collection of missions.
