  1. I engage my EAC switch once I start rolling into a taxi. The NAV light remains lit and the TAD says NO DATA until I start to roll. If I engage the EAC before I start to roll, it will not come on after I start to roll. I have to engage it after I start to taxi and it works fine.
  2. According the the A-10A manual, the landing gear handle is locked into the down position until weight is removed from the wheels or the DOWNLOCK overide button is depressed. Once the button is depressed, the handle can move to the up position. It also states that even after pressing the downlock overide button and moving the handle to the up position, the gear will not retract until weight is removed from the gear and the struts are extended.
  3. lol I was lining up so I had more deck to to slow down on. I knew it wouldn't be enough but I was just having fun.
  4. No idea. I was on a multiplayer server and was alone. I pressed F10 and noticed a ship on the map so I decided to fly to it and land on it. I flew off the other end of course. I can't find that arrestor hook button.
  5. Is this the vent pipe? Picture found here: http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2009/10/identifying-upgraded-10c.html
  6. The downlock solenoid button is used to release the lock that holds the gear up. This way if there is hydraulic failure you can press this button and aerodynamic forces will force the gear down. That's why they are pointing forward. I read this somewhere in the manual but can't seem to find it right now. EDIT: Page 101 ALSO FOUND THIS. This proves my theory wrong. It's a DOWN lock and not an UP LOCK, I guess.
  7. Thanks for the explanation!
  8. I didn't realise that there was a maximum landing weight for aircraft. I assumed if it was light enough to take off, it was light enough to land. Makes since, there's alot more force when landing than when taking off. What is the maximum landing weight for the A-10, and is this modelled in DCS? I've landed plenty of times with nearly maximum weight, full payload and combat fuel.
  9. You know atleast 90% of the acronyms by heart in this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=62743
  10. I'm talking about some weapons loaders, maybe some tow bars, tow tractors, etc. maint. stands
  11. I work on naval ground support equipment for a living and it plays a big role in keeping planes flying. It would be really cool to see some static equipment around some of the airfields. I thought there would be some, at Nellis atleast, because of this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=36034 Anybody have any idea if we will see some static GSE in the final release?
  12. I don't fly with labels. All of the screenshots are from multiplayer games. That server had labels turned on. EDIT: Except the last screenshot, I was dog fighting another AI A-10C. His AIM-9 hit right in front of my nose.
  13. Don't use the gun PIPPER, use the GUN CROSS. I don't know they key command to switch them in GUNS master mode so I just switch to CCIP mode and use the gun cross there.
  14. I like to engage light targets at 2 miles out with my cannon. As soon as the range indicates 2.0, I fire and break away. This works fine for light armored targets. I also don't like to zoom, especially on my HUD. I go into the IFFCC menu page and turn off the CCIP occult. I lock my target with the Targeting POD and I switch to CCIP mode. I put my gun cross over the targeting pod diamond, engage PAC 1 and fire. I tought myself how to fly the A-10C in Nevada and it was alot easier to spot tanks on the desert ground. Once I started flying the instant action missions, I found it really hard to spot even a URAL truck in the grass. That's why I figured out a new way to be able to engage my targets from the safest distance possible.
  15. nothing special, straight out of the screenshots folder
  16. awesome, thank you. MOWER: I don't know the proper process but I've done it in both easy and hard comms. I just open the comms menu, select ground crew, and request re-arm. I never messed with an intercom or anything else. I do believe I used the AM VHF radio and it was adjusted to the airport I was parked at. Not sure if that makes a difference. It must be a WIP still because I believe the manual stated something about using the intercom to contact the ground crew but I haven't don it that way, yet.
  17. I thought of this but wouldn't that load the stores assigned at the beginning of a mission? What if I change my inventory to something else? Also, in the multiplayer game I had this problem in, I reloaded my aircraft with the "MISSION" loadout under the comms menu, but I don't think it loaded the same payload I started with. I'm not positive, I couldn't go to an external view to double check.
  18. Right. I was able to re-arm multiple times. I even watched them remove a store to replace it with a new store after I changed my loadout. The problem is actually updating the DSMS page for the new inventory. After reloading, the DSMS still showed empty stores. I can re-arm them one by one but I can't see under my plane to see what stores are on stations 4,5,6,7 and 8. Just trying to see the proper way to re-arm and re-load the inventory.
  19. I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer. In BETA 3 I was able to land and re-arm my plane on the tarmac but I couldn't figure out how to update the inventory or the DSMS page. I know how to reload individual weapons but is this the only way to re-arm the whole aircraft? I know how to reset the cannon ammo count but I wasn't sure if the aircraft could auto-detect which weapons are on which stations. I don't know my weapons good enough to select each store class, type, etc. one-by-one. EDIT: I also scanned through the manual and didn't see anything on this, besides individual store inventory.
  20. No the "M" that is flashing on the TGP and the HUD means there is something masking the targeting pod. Maybe it's part of the aircraft that triggered this but in the video I don't see anything in the view of the TGP. When the smoke covers the target the M appears and starts to flash. EDIT: Now that I look at it more, I think a solid M came on warning that the sensor was in a position that it could be masked soon. Once the pilot entered POINT tracking the M started flashing. Maybe just a warning?
  21. Smoke from burning vehicles can MASK the targeting pod. See this video at 5:50 (not my video)
  22. I don't see any lights on in any of the buildings. Didn't Black Shark have building window lights?
  23. lol I know but I never really got into Black Shark enough to notice this.
