  1. You can see the second stage rockets firing on SAM's. I'm not sure what SAM it is but I found saw it in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqIntuu0Cb8 At 4:37 you can see the sam launch and a second or two later a second rocket kicks in. Pretty cool
  2. I use a cheap Saitek ST290. When I'm lining up for an attack I trim the aircraft to counter any pitching until I get the PAC enabled. I engage at 2.0 NM and break immediately after firing. When I have to engage heavy armored targets I usually engage at 1.5 NM and break. When you're straffing at 250-300 KIAS you can climb and egress much easier. I'm not saying this is the correct way, it's just how I feel comfortable. I like to stay as far away from enemy bullets as possible.
  3. I had a right engine fail to start on the ramp once. It was a while ago and I'm not sure if I missed a step, I don't think I did. I placed the throttle in the OFF position, cranked the right engine to clear any fuel and re-started the start process. It started up and ran fine after that.
  4. It's similar to the "28 Days Later" soundtrack.
  5. The volume key has two different controls. You turn the knob and there is a ring around the knob that turns seperate. I believe the mouse wheel rotates the volume know but you right and left click to rotate the ILS freq. knob. I've only done it once so I may be wrong on which key does what but there is two controls for each knob. EDIT: From the Manual:
  6. I always straff at full throttle and keep my speed well over 250 KIAS. This way I can recover and egress faster.
  7. It's more of an electrical "buzzing".
  8. You can hear the boost pumps running when you flip the boost pump switches!
  9. IED on the runway...
  10. It says "ECM Pods". CHAFF and FLARES aren't electronic countermeasures "ECM" and they aren't POD's. Atleast this is what I thought when I posted my last post. I believe it is refering to the the actual ECM Jamming POD. The ALQ-131. Correct me if I'm wrong...
  11. There is a Jettison switch on the CMSP. I'm not sure if that enables the ECM to be Jettisoned when you hit the Jettison switch or if it Jettisons the ECM once the switch is set to JTSN.
  12. I wasn't pulling on the stick either time my nose gear ripped off. I was just rollin' down the runway with no control inputs.
  13. I've had front landing gear problems twice on Nellis. I was landing once, touched down nice and smooth, everything was going good and BAM! I heard a bang and the nose popped up, when it dropped back down the nose of the plane hit the runway. The whole front landing gear was missing. The second time, I was taking off and heard the same bang, the nose popped up, and it stayed up until I took off. I checked in F2, the front gear was missing. The gear door was shut. Raising my gear and lowering my gear didn't make a difference. I turn my nose steering off usually around 51 KIAS. I didn't land rough, I set my nose wheel down very easy and it didn't happen until a few seconds after touchdown.
  14. When you bank the plane, the head (view) leans in the opposite direction to try and stay level. This may be because I turned on the option to have "head g movement", or something like that.
  15. I'm going to buy the boxed copy in addition to the BETA, to support the developer and because I like to have boxed copies. I'd rather install a game from a disc in a few minutes then download a couple of gigabytes for a few hours.
  16. You can hear the wind resistance when you lower your gear. Also, the pitch of the aircraft drops from the drag of the landing gear.
