  1. Imo this would be a perfect strategy in terms of PR and marketing. @NineLine, please, take this as a constructive feedback for what you guys are going to name this category. You will have a group of angry "it's a sim not a game" people complaining, but at least the other 98% of the players would understand what they're purchasing.
  2. I hope it's the case. We need more redfor planes, and they won't come unless the Pandora's box is open. If we're going to have a Dynamic Campaign with a fictional war on a fictional Fulda Gap, I don't care about a fictional MiG-29 SMT. It isn't like I need training to fly a real one any time soon
  3. There's just one point most people are missing. In software development, leaving Early Access doesn't mean Final Version. It's most like an inicial production version, wich will evolve over time. Most software have a version 1.0, then 1.1, 1.2.... After all it's just a number on the version, DCS isn't a physical thing like PS2 games were. But I think ED should have made this clear since the beginning, especially when most of the playerbase isn't involved in software development.
  4. That's perfect. Thank you for the clarification, now I'm a happy customer again haha
  5. Thanks for answering. That contradicts something from this thread before: This delay was removed? If that's the case, it solves 100% the main issue I had with this change.
  6. Dramatizing? Maybe a bit. But I feel affected, I never used both instances at the same time, but I had both installed. I tested the AV-8, F/A-18, F-16 and Bf-109 before purchasing on the standalone free trial. The first time I tried the AV-8 it was too buggy and incomplete, and an year after I tested again and that changed my mind. Especially the warbirds, I won't have my WW2 assets anymore on the standalone
  7. It's sad to see this kind of anti-consummer practice. I understand people were breaking the EULA, but I think you're affecting way more your honest users, wich are the majority. I only use the standalone client for the free trial before purchasing something, so this change won't affect me so much, since I can unbind my account and test planes on caucasus (the client has a very slow dl speed here). What worries me the most is the precedent this gives. Feels like a stab in the back with the pants down. Especially when you had other ways of implementing this solution wich wouldn't require much more effort and wouldn't affect legit users.
  8. Did someone find a workaround for this on the Win 11 dev? I use DCS and work on the same PC, so I don't have an option to format it Edit: issue fixed for me on today's Open Beta update (2.7.17.29493)
  9. If you guys want this to be a community mod, why don't you release a github for the project, then? Maybe someone with skills can even fork it and help the development. I understand there's a some drawbacks in this, but it's 2021. Even some profit-oriented projects are going this way. Can't see a reason for any community mod for any game/simulator to be developed in private.
  10. Did you check if your callsign was empty on your Logbook? My callsign was empty before my first post. It took me some time after your first answer to figure out wich file was causing trouble on my end and solve it. Every time I delete my callsign, the waypoints don't load. I don't know why it was empty before, and it's working now (I'm on 2.7.7 beta, btw).
  11. I managed to get it working. After trying to delete and recreate some files on my saved folder, I figured out it was my logbook.lua file. Since I didn't want to lose my progress, I went line by line replacing the new generated file and copying the old values. It seems my old one didn't have anything on the "callsign" entry, it was empty as in the picture below. It seems to be the problem. I don't know if it's working as intended, but since this solution was a bit hard to find, I'll leave this as a feedback for someone who may have this problem in the future.
  12. Thanks for the answer! Is there something I'm getting wrong? The waypoints from the Mission Editor are loading as usual, but any waypoint I create from the F10 menu doesn't load. When I ask to update the DTC, my SMS gets updated, but my NAV does not. There is how I'm doing on the F10, and how it shows after updating the DTC and loading
  13. Hi, all! I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but I can't insert waypoints anymore on my Jeff using the F10 map. The last time I used it was 2 or 3 updates ago, so I don't know if something changed on the procedures or if the update broke something. My steps are the following: 1 - Create a new mission (tried on Syria and Caucasus) on the mission editor 2 - Add only the JF-17, Player / Client, Take off from parking hot / Take off from ramp, no loadout 3 - Insert the labels "WPT1", "WPT2", "PP1", "RP1", "RP2" for instance 4 - Contact ground, load some weapons 5 - Contact ground, ask to update the DTC data 6 - After the update, insert the DTC on the plane, select "All" and load it After these steps, my plane updates the SMS but doesn't load the waypoints. Is there any new step I should do, or is this a bug from the last update?
