    We know the boarding ladder animation is actually in the game. Quite a few interior compartments are actually part of the model - some of them become visible due to specific damage scenarios.
    Sometimes it seems to me that ED has done all the heavy lifting for this kind of request already (and in some cases literally years and years ago) and then flatly refuses to do the one afternoon quick job of adding the keybind.

    It's in a similar vein of my personal long-standing peeve of having done full animations for pilots, yet refusing to let us put them in scenarios for some bizarre reason. Boggles my mind...

    I will continue trying to understand, and learn, which .lua files i need to edit and how, using the CJS Superbug mod. As in a previous post, with that mod we can bind a key for the ladder. I just need to find what to edit. Tried many times before but with no luck.

    I learned if i want some things i need to do it myself. I always wanted ground crew messages in my bombs and the only way of doing it was to learn some basics with some vector editors and now i have my bombs as i wanted for some time. 

    Maybe someday one of the developers give us the binding for the boarding ladder.

    If for some reason i find how to do it i will post it here.

    It is a similar situation, really, in that these are all animations that have been done and implemented and ED seems to figure out that, yes, maybe they should just be used.

    And I can access the forums and everything just fine. Its just these files and snoopys files are closed access.  Honestly its what I get for deleting them because I cant even find the post where the guy who helped snoop also had otherones too.

    That´s strange. I´m sorry if i could´t help you further but if i stumble for some fix, or, workaround i´ll let you know.

    This is a thread from 2014 and the last post is from 2020. What you´d expect?

    Either way i don´t have any issues accessing the 476th group page, or, download their mods. Did you tried with a different browser?

    ED will we someday have the ability of open/close maintenance doors like the AH-64D module? it´s something on the table?

    Might be a small, or inexisent, detail for some but it will play a great part in my VR walkarounds before each flight.

    But is strange to be in the same category of other movements for the pilot. The only mod i used +1 year ago for the boarding ladder was the Blue Angels Equipment mod, which doesn´t work anymore, and when i used the ladder key binding was in a category specific for the mod called MODS and not in Motions. Either the way if doesn´t show up to you it is strange. Need further investigation. Thank you for the heads up. 

     

    PS: disregard 😕 did a quick test before i go to bed and it´s from the CJS Superbug mod. It was too good to be true 😞 thank you anyway.

  7. it seems it is already present in the keyboard bindings as a placeholder (has no effect). It´s a good sign!

    Yes. Default/core liveries have pliot 3d kneeboard but user created liveries don´t (the ones that have not been updated yet). As example, i don´t use one default livery i only have user created liveries, so, it´s good to know what lines to add to the .lua files if needed.

    How so? i use a ton of mods but none for the kneeboard. It´s a DCS core feature since 2 updates ago.

    If you don´t add those lines to the description.lua the Kneeboard on the pilot leg won´t replicate the pages of the 2D kneeboard pop-up, it will only show a blank page when you look to the pilot leg.

    Add this line to the description.lua of the liverie of your choice, i use notepad++ but you can use windows default notepad to open and edit the file:

    {"Pilot_F16_FP_Map", 0, "mfd3", true};

    Honestly at this point any new module have to come with pilot body upon initial release.

    it’s very awkward to fly these machines as a bodyless ghost in limbo.

    Indeed, specially in VR.

    And it´s also useful with the kneeboard showing the pages without using the kneeboard pop up, now i just look to my leg/pilot leg to check my checklists, maps, etc.

    The end result is the same, it was a test because to set the trigger zone right i must load the mission a few times to have the trigger in the spot i wanted but with "Unit´s Speed Higher Than" trigger it´s easier for me to set when the animated crew activates. I didn´t try it lately (i just been using your static equipment etc) but is should work as before. Thank you and congrats once again! I´m happy for you. Enjoy.

  13. I´m a carrier ops guy and i love NTTR. I use it for all my training or testing. And you cannot put aircraft carriers in lakes (you even don´t have that option), as wrongly mentioned few posts before.

    For me is a must have but of course this is subjective, depends on what are your needs and what do you expect.

    Maybe check some YT videos with NTTR map to see if it is worthy for you.
