  1. Quote from Aug 8, 2020 newsletter: "The DCS World Dynamic Campaign Engine combines a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) engine with military forces and economics layers (production, logistics, use and transfer of resources) that pitch two opposing sides aided by advanced strategic and tactical AI. We have now completed the core RTS logic and have connected it to DCS World. We are currently finalising the basics of the in-game economic models. We will be working on the combat tasking logic and certain win-win situations in the near future. The last stage will be the Client - Server architecture needed to support large campaigns with on-going online sessions. We are certain that you will have many detailed questions and look forward to revealing more information on this module as and when we are in position to demonstrate some of the features live." And Jan 9, 2021: "This massive task has been underway for over two years, and the progress has been exciting. The campaign is built around a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) foundation that factors resources, zones of control, logistics, available forces, and a strategic decision-making system. While we believe internal testing will continue in the 1st quarter of 2021, it is too early to estimate a release date. However, external Beta testing is planned hopefully in Q2/Q3 2021." Well it's Q4 2024 and all I hear are crickets chirping . Has it been abandoned? Can we get an honest answer?
  2. Some further testing seems to be showing that if the Kuznetsov is destroyed, the red AI aircraft stop spawning altogether.
  3. @Surrexen I think I've found the problem. On a hunch I removed the Kuznetsov from the SeaSlugUnitInterment.lua file (SeaSlugUnitInterment[87] = "CV 1143.5 Admiral Kuznetsov"), fixed the array numbering up, and the mission runs fine. Attached the persistence files to see if you can replicate it. SeaSlug Persistence Files.zip
  4. Ah - forgot about the mods. They're just ingrained is all the missions we run. Very much appreciate your time looking at it. Will keep looking and hopefully find out what is going on. At worst - we can wait till your new version out and go with that! Oh for the ability to "trace" ... Cheers Kilo Oscar - DCSNZA
  5. Yeah I've made a few changes, but none since the last patch. We were playing a "hardcore" version. I removed the menu options to call for AI support. I've disabled the blue AI CAP spawns, set the mission date to 1989 and enabled a limit on airframes and ordinance via warehousing (AWACS and tankers are set to have hundreds). Added in IADS (and tried with out it). Persistence is working fine (with the modification to the script that someone made in a previous post (unsure if this is still required)). I've tried rolling back these changes, tried the base mission before I edited it and still no joy. Have attached a copy of the mission if that helps at all. BTW do you have a PATREON account? Operation Sea Slug - 1989.zip
  6. Hi @Surrexen, I think the last update may have broken the spawning of AI aircraft - at least in Operation Sea Slug. I am no longer getting AWACS, Tankers or AI rat spawns. I've attached the log file if this helpsdcs.log.zip. These are some of the type of errors: 2022-07-23 00:16:37.788 ERROR SCRIPTING: Mission script error: [string "C:\Users\OEM\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\/~mis00007AD8.lua"]:36383: attempt to index local 'UnitPoint' (a nil value) stack traceback: [C]: ? 7. Has the new patch fixed the persistence problem?
  8. Fantastic work thanks @Surrexen. Our Squadron love the missions!
  9. If I wish to add more groups of units to the mission and have them be persistent, do I just have to add them in to the mission table in 'Scarlet Dawn Mission.lua'?
  10. Awesome. All working now! That did the trick thank you!
  11. @Sithos Thanks for the message. Editing line 3125 adds the menu for the UH-60L. But clicking on Request Infantry (or any other type of unit or cargo) nothing happens. The script gives this error - attempt to index local 'TransPlayerUnit' (a nil value) when doing this: local TransClientUnitName = TransPlayerUnit:GetName() The group name is 8 char long, and the Pilot name is 4 char long. Any ideas?
  12. Finished the mission last night. Very challenging with the two aircraft carrier groups. The DCSNZA guys really enjoyed it. Thanks again!
  13. Great mission thanks Surrexen. Our squadron (DCSNZA) had a blast with it last night. Took about 3 hours to clean out and take Rota Island. Couple of nice surprises that added to the fun. Certainly required some team work to deal with the assault and mission objective on Rota.
  14. Thanks for the reply. Yeah I tried the wait. Get in another helo - it worked. Get back in the Blackhawk and it doesn't. I'm guessing it may be because the Blackhawk is a mod and maybe doesn't return the values expected of the helo birth function. Fantastic mission BTW. DCSNZA has been flying Operation Clearfield and Scarlet Dawn recently and are loving them. Feel free to drop by our Discord and join the mission some time.
