  1. Nice work! You are ARCer as well, right?
  2. laud, guess where I've been last weekend? :D unfortunately (or luckily) I didn't visit the AMS :D but I go tmyself a nice big 1/48 PAK-FA kit the other day
  3. just uploaded a few pics I took yesterday of Russian presidental Ilyushin on visit to Slovenia click on the pic to access the full story and more pics
  4. Hey, I did that Intruder myself a couple of years ago
  5. As A-10 is currently the hottest babe on this forums, here's a model of it I finished this January It's Revells tiny 1/144 A-10A I've built as a Desert Storm vet
  6. My latest finished work: Revell 1/72 Royal Saudi AF a number of scratchbuild items on this one like flaps, slats and dual bomb pylons for carrying 8 thousandpounders
  7. I wonder if there's a journalist mistake or there's something else going on. AFAIK the T-50-1 is being tested at Zhukovski near Moscow while T-50-2 just made a couple of flights. Which aircraft went supersonic or where did it go?
  8. I don't think the shape of the tails is changed. other differencies are as well: one piece main canopy - T-50-1 had a strenghtening bar down the middle of it the small dome behind the cockpit is glass now (R2-D2 unit? :D) some riveting on the fuselage to wing pods, suggesting they are operational on this 2nd prototype.
  9. As this was disscussed in other thread in General disscussion forums I am making it official here: What I would really love to see in DCS regarding ATC is the following: 1 request other runway 2 request weather information 3 call out mayday or panpan emergencies 1 - even if the controller recommends the other runway, it is always the pilots decision where he wants to land. Sometimes a shorter approach with a little tailwind is better option than longer with headwind 2 - on longer mission requesting the weather sooner, will help you preparing for landing in advance, where conditions at the airfield might be quite different than at target area, especially now with dynamic weather implemented 3 - how many times have you landed with your Hog pierced with bullet holes and from time to time pieces of the airframe missing (half a wing perhaps? :pilotfly:) calling out mayday would initiate the ATC to clear the runway and give you instructions for as fast landing as possible. On the runway of your choice of course, just like in real life.
  10. Thanks guys! Adding the suggestions now!
  11. Well I am ATCO and worked as a tower controller earlier in my career. Runway in use for landing was most of the time the one with ILS installed and had a secondary NDB approach possible. This changed only when the tail wind reached speeds of 10kts and more and on pilots request, "circle to land" manuevers were implemented. Departing runway is/was used depending on the traffic situation but again 10kts tailwind is generally the limit. Of course pilot has the last word. What I would really love to see in DCS regarding ATC is the following: - request other runway - request weather information - call out mayday or panpan emergencies I find myself more often than not approaching the airfield with more holes in the plane then you can find in swiss ementaler cheese and when I contact the ATC they send me the opposite way of the airfield for landing, while I can barely hold the stricken aircraft in the air...
