  2. Another ATC here. LJLJ international airport. Civil helicopters are required to land/take-off from runway and use taxiways as they would be fixed wing aircraft. There is a small helipad for use by Police and military helicopters but they too are required to airtaxi to that position before takeoff. The only exception are medevac and SAR flights where helos are cleared for takeoff from the ramp at their own discretion if the traffic situatuin permits it. LJCE military airfield. Helicopters never take off from the ramp and are required to taxi/air-taxi to the two designated take-off landing positions. at both airfields, helicopters use the shorter traffic pattern than fixed wing planes.

  4. thanks mate I use this one: http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/201702/
  5. So, I've made a video from MP track of last Friday's BAI sortie on 476th vFG DS with Nu-NRG as my wingman. We left our AO winchester with a heap of burning steel left behind. It is my first attempt at making such video and its been a steep learning curve. Video was made using a single MP track and no additional scenes were taken - my goal for now is not to interfere with videos of GlowinAmraam or Slamraam fame :D Still hope you're gonna like it.
  6. I always use the photos I took. Here's the current one
  7. well to be able to free hand camouflage you have to practice a lot... I would recommend for starters that you use masking for the camo lines - one of the easiest if not THE easiest way is to use Blue Tac or UHU Patafix - you roll it into thin "snakes" and apply it to the model and then mask of unwanted areas with either masking tape or masking liquid. By spraying perpendicular to the model surface you'll achieve a soft transition edge and it's really no-brainer.
  8. that's what we are told, right ;)
  9. Slovenian Army Bell 412 low over Kosovo the guy on the left seat is now my collegue in ATC
  10. I assume you mean this photo It's hard to tell what is seen in the intake - it looks way too forward for turbine blades - radar deflectors perhaps. @marcos - spin trials chute cover
  11. python - make sure when you're building the hawk to paint it first with white colour - red, orange and yellow colours are very tricky and you get the best result by giving them a white undercoat. If you're intimadet by the Tigermeet boxing - look at what I did with Kinetic Vipers: outlawal2: Italeri has one in 1:48 http://www.amazon.com/Italeri-48-Kamov-Ka-Hokum/dp/B004FJWQFY
  12. Thanks mates! The paint job was done freehand with airbrush - of course lighter to darker camo paint order.
  13. There is a scale modelling thread burried in here somewhere... Just finished this beauty today - Trumpeter 1:72 UB converted to Kazakh UBM2
  14. Pepin have you ever thought that you've been probably as much brainwashed by Serbian (Milosevic) propaganda as Western propaganda does to its people? As much as I love the Fulcrum, it did nothing but get shot down during the conflict. The pilots should receive Medals for Bravery only for daring to seat into cockpits and take-off, knowing they had little to no chance over the fighter umbrella NATO fighters put over Serbia. If there would be more aircraft shot down, they would be shown - afterall what's the better propaganda than a shot down enemy plane? Pilot of course, but Serbia didn't catch any ;) There were even claims B-2 was shot down :D Yeah I admit, there were some clever things invented during the conflict like wooden MiG decoys, Yugos with wooden pole sticking through the windshield representing armour and microwave oven decoys for HARMs. But as to Air to air combat, face it, you didn't have a chance. As for the MiG-29 vs F-16 performance goes, I haven't read the intreview on f16.net but I did read a few F-16 pilot interviews in Air Forces Monthly and most claimed Falcon and Fulcrum were pretty much matched in the air. Just saying...
  15. that may be true but it doesn't carry a mudguard either; All the Su-30 series and Su-35S as well have twin nose-wheels due to heavier weight and unlike Western planes, can operate from a poorly prepared airstrips.
  16. Twin nose-wheel is used because of weight. I haven't heard of any navalization plans.

  24. thanks guys! I use Nikon D300 and Sigma 50-500mm f4.5-6.3, which is not really considered a high-end lens and can be quite soft in the 400-500mm range. But you know what? This picture was taken (according to EXIF) at 270mm! So yeah, 400mm is more than sufficient lens for overflights, though when you are up on the mountain and shooting down towards targets, you'd need more... much more... but it's more than enough for use from spectators area or maybe even Ebenfluh
