Hi all! I am using the Monster Rhino for 3 weeks now. Previous I was using a "regular" Rhino and prior to that a Virpil CM2 Base. I have to say: the Rhino is an absolute plus for immersion and the real feel of the aircraft. But the Monster Rhino really is kick-ass! The best base I have ever used so far. I can strongly recommend this to everybody who is into FFB. regards friese01

Hi... Ich besitze auch eine Crystal. Vorher habe ich eine G2 genutzt und der Sprung war einfach gigantisch, war das Bild angeht. Allerdings kann ich die Qualität und den Support durch Pimax als durchweg schlecht und unterirdisch bezeichnen. Ich würde mir eine Pimax der aktuellen Generation sicher nicht mehr kaufen. Was die nächste Gen angeht bleibt zu hoffen, dass Pimax an Ihrer Quality Control arbeitet. Eine meiner Crystals hatte das Bild um 90 Grad gedreht - eingeschickt und ein Austauschgerät erhalten. Dies war nicht neu - es entstammte sogar einer älteren Produktions-Charge und was die Höhe war: diese Unit hatte einen Pixelfehler. Also wieder reklamiert. Jetzt warte ich erneut 3 Wochen auf Austausch (wahrscheinlich wieder ein altes Gerät?). Eine gebrauchte Varjo Aero ist vielleicht eine gute Option?

I bought the last "complete" built from @Winger! Now available kits are DIY-Kits but are exactly the same thing - only difference: winger put the parts of the DIY-Kit together and I bought the whole thing as a "used" unit on a online market place. I am very happy with the DIY Rhino and would not go back to a spring centered base like my previous Virpil CM3 or similar. The gain of immersion is just beyond words. You can really feel the haviness of an aircraft, the forces that are "leaning" against the control surfaces. I mostly fly the F-14 (and in future the F-4). Especially when you are approaching high AOA in the F-14 you will be "reminded" by the shaking of the stick that you are near critical AOA. In the F-4 you can really feel it is a flying brick - it feels heavy and not as responsive in the controls as a lighter aircraft. I only took the Huey for some short spins: and the absence of a recentering spring force is just great. You do not have to fight the spring of a "normal" base like a for instance a Virpil, Thrustmaster or Winwing base even with the force trim on. just recenter it and you'll regain precise controls at the very point you need it to. All in all: I can strongly recommend the Rhino as a DIY-Kit!

Hi... Wollte kurz meine Erfahrungen teilen. Ich nutze Virpil seit gut 2 Jahren - vormals TM Warthog. Hatte anfangs eine CM2 Base mit einem Alpha Grip und 100mm extension am Start, sowie den CM3 Throttle. Mit dem Setup war ich super zufrieden und die Qualität hat super gepasst. Da ich ab und an den Huey versuche in die Luft zu bekommen habe ich gedacht, die CM3 Base wäre was für mich: mit der dead stick Möglichkeit. Also die CM3 Base mit 200mm curved extension Oktober 2022 gekauft. Bei mir muss es immer das Beste, das Neuste, das Teuerste sein... Die Bestellung war ein großer FEHLER! Die Stick extension hatte Produktionsbedingt einen Mangel und hat nicht 100% "Wackelfrei" gepasst. Also fliege ich ohne extension und auch die CM3 Base ist nicht das, was ich mir gewünscht habe: die Kupplung für die dead stick Funktion fühlt sich mäßig bis schlecht an - nutze diese beim Heli-Fliegen somit gar nicht mehr. Auch die Möglichkeit die Base an meinem Rig über eine Monstertech Platte (untere Abdeckung der Base ausgetauscht) zu befestigen ist schlecht: hat einfach zu viel "Spiel" beim hin und her bewegen des Stick. Da war die Lösung von der alten CM2 mit der "Klammer" von Monstertech um Welten stabiler und absolut ohne Spiel, auch wenn man mit 100mm Extension mal am Knüppel gerupft hat! Meine Lösung: Ich habe mir die CM2 erneut mit 100mm extension geordert. Auf diese warte ich jetzt schon 9 Wochen (bestellt am 9. Jan 2023) und es werden sicher noch ein paar Wochen mehr: Virpil hat diese Woche signalisiert, dass sie immer noch auf einen batch Lieferungen warten!

@Chapa: Any suggestions what hardware to go for instead? I was happy with the mechanical precision and quality of the CM2 (especially compared to the CM3).

I have the same issue! Haven't flown the Huey for a while because of that unsatisfactory feel. So only flew Jets for like 4 months now. But also a very unsatisfying mushy feel in and around the centre position with the standard avia cams (the ones that were pre-installed). Tried with all springs, loose and tight. Tried it with 200mm extension and without. Same sh**. Decided to go back to the CM2 with 100mm extension. Waiting for the order to be completed for 2 months now. Very unpleased with the quality of the CM3.

Same for me... Had a hardware (new virpil base) change just prior the update. Now i am unable to adjust any of my axis and stuff in any of my modules. basically just 1 module out of 6 flyable for me atm. not good...
