  1. As per SFI warnings and cautions should flash until acknowledged, after pressing masterwarn button light should be steady. Again, not something that spolis the fun, but I think SAAB was one of the first ones using this rather cleaver warning system. (and yes, the vid is from a panel with led mods, but we just upgraded the IO and finally got the blinking back..)
  2. Two issues 1: I'm missing the CI filter, a photocromatic "dimmer" for the CI. 2: Not sure, but when reducing the radar light the effect seems a bit off as in the attached screenshot.
  3. Agree, never herd about it being used. But hey, it's a cool "what if" feature! Got to keep the devs on the AJS so they start doing a SF version :)
  4. IMO a very user friendly approach, anyhow - what's already done on the Viggen is just amazing!! I'd say confirmed. The first guy responding flew JA, second one AJ and he even kalled it a klonk! :D
  5. It belongs to Swesim, http://www.swesim.se and whe have it on loan from a museum. Lots of panels pulled out for change of IO cards. We are a NPO in Stockholm, currently operationg a AJS 37, J35 J and B737 sim. Sadly the fighters are P3D based, but we are looking into the possibilities of having the AJS multi platform.
  6. What I know for sure is that a AJS driver who has been very "fact oriented" (ie checking his notes) told me that the "clonk" was something he listened for as a indication to pull gear down for landing or as a warning of IAS <550. My hope is that the LG lock "clonk" has a similar sound level as the MTG/FT clicks. Another thing I noticed during the years of sim-building is that RL pilots have a hard time distinguishing between noices and tactile "bumps". I know for a fact that a B737 sim we at Swesim got has way to loud startup sounds, but been told by a bunch of RL pilots that it's spot on. And yes, I've lernt to ask them to put kindness away :) Since the engine vibration is not there the brain settles for the loud sound as vibration. At least one major level-D sim operator takes this into account when tuning sounds in professional sims.
  7. It's actually not hidden under a panel, quite easy to maniuplate. Haven't checked SFI but IIRC the first pre series Viggen had manual flap operation.
  8. It's all yours, be aware that I used apr 2v less then specced when triggering the solenoid..
  9. Hearing the sound from the video I feel a bit sheepish reporting it, but it sounds louder when installed on the cockpit :)
  10. The "clonk"
  11. Endast för bruk i simulator (only for sim use) Written on most of the things, on some instruments we got the service logs where you can see that it came of a flying hull with a minor defect, was sent for service but probably failed som test and used for the sim.
  12. Not mine, but we at Swesim got one. At the moment torn out for change of IO cards.
  13. Any plans to implement manual flap operation? For some reason I'd understand if not :) Might be hard to see, but the flap actually got it's own leaver interconnected to the landing gear. However by pressing a lock button you can operate the flap leaver individually.
  14. Would be nice to have the radar stick parking implemented. NB, the one I filmed is worn down - it should stick in the corner..
  15. Same handle, my guess is that you can hear/sense the clunk if you wait for it. It is very close to the seat. Also the internal noice from the engine/avionics cooling might be very different between JA/AJS.
  16. Flew some self made missions yesterday and noticed that the trim hardly worked in some cases while other times had the expected movement speed. Need to check the missions I used, the difference was payload.
  17. It locks the handle (actually got a spare gear handle lying around so I can snap a photo of the lock if I find it) if you herd the "clunk" they used the original lock. Guess hearing the "clunk" on accelration is depending on sound level in general (fi if they used an asskicker for EBK rumble)
  18. There is a leaver next to the LG to unlock. If I recall correctly secured by wire. You might be right on the down position lock, was a long time since I fiddled with the lock for our sim.
  19. As I understood SFI landing gear operation should be locked up if speed is more then 550kmh. Also should be locked in down if there is weight on wheels. I'm able to move the gear leaver regardles of speed/w.o.w. The locking mechanism is on the gear leaver and produces a rather loud "clunk" that I've been told was a good indication that speed went under 550 (I'm slightly scpetical, but perhaps they felt it more then heard it)
  20. I hear it, but it's not annoying :) IMO should be louder. Can make a recording Thursday.
  21. I'm missing the distinct rattle from the over alfa stick shaker (kniven) - as I noticed in a sim based on the original hardware it makes a annoying loud clatter.
  22. I'm not getting the altitude warning / readiness mode warning when leaving the runway despite leaving Skedesväljare in other positions then BER. Not exactly a game breaker :)
  23. I remember a visiting Viggen pilot at Swesim who mentioned that you would be careful not to reverse on GSA due to loss of nose-wheel dampening. Will see if I got my notes somewhere, might even find the SFI reference.
  24. Not sure of i misread the SFI, but shouldn't "SLAV SI från" give the SI presentation dead ahead in NAV mode? Also the warning plates on both sides should be isolated from normal back-light and only be lit when switched on with the toggle aft of the plates. I'm missing the dimmer on the left side of the CI, nice to have on night missions. Anyway you could include babysitting and wife entertainment in the release? I really need some alone time with the AJS 37! :D
  25. He is one of us who rebuilt it so he flew it a lot. :) We are in the progress of our third major rebuild, full scale sim building has so much more to offer with these days in terms of cool hardware interfaces. Most of the guys are pro P3D, I'm pushing for DCS :D As for films we got a few on our site and facebook. Can shoot some more in the next days if it's of interest. Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk
