Pitch control returning to neutral when flying with keyboard
arb65912 replied to 85th_Maverick's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Isn't is about perception? Chair pilots who make probably 90+% of the DCS users want to feel like they were the real pilots in a real aircraft so using keyboard is not even comparable to using joystick (or yoke depending on real life counterpart) to achieve that perception. If you want to know the numbers, then yes, keyboard is much easier for sure. -

Businessman will do things the way that are making business making profits regardless of what customers want, IF what users want makes the business more profitable. And something simple and easy to do is subjective. And from developer standpoint, they will do whatever is more important to realism of the simulation which using keyboard is definitely not a contributing factor. -

Realism to me means flying like I was flying real aircraft, with yoke or joystick, good flight model, realistic systems and good 3D model. That is realistic to me. Using keyboard, hey, personal preference. -
Hello, Newbie here so please be gentle. I set TACAN for Kobuleti 67X , TCN is ON and Boxed on HSI but the distance from it shows way too far, I am very close to airport, see attached screenshots. I started the flight as Instant Action, "Hornet Ready on the Ramp" Please help me determine what I do wrong. Thank you!

Thank you, Gentlemen.

Where I can find DCS country codes? Thanks!

@silverdevil : yes, I am pretty set in that apartment by now. Thanks for your help. The things I sometimes fine tune is the dead zones, still experimenting a bit. @Bob1943: They have wireless but only on eBay, Google it. I am just waiting for mine to be delivered. @Hiob: same here, after I fly a bit I recenter. Dogfighting, not for me yet, need a lot of learning but that is FUN!

Thank you very much, Sir!!! Will give it a try. Thank you, I figured out that since I am in cockpit, I just need to put my head in neutral position and use joystick button I assigned to reset Trackir view to center and it works from there. Yes, changing profiles does not do a good job, unless I change simulator for example and want to fly airliner when I rarely look back but that is different story.

Newbie getting rekt on PvP server, need advices
arb65912 replied to cmbaviator's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Thank you for the reply. I am not even close to the level you are but it seems to me that DCS has so much to learn and do that I will never get bored . I will look at the posts you linked and will try to understand. I am off the subject here but I still do not know how to set up the "plan" of learning F/A-18 and F-16C. I know about Chucks guides and I know about videos by Wags, Spudknocker etc. If anybody could help me set the plan of learning, I would be very grateful. Sorry for derailing the thread a bit, not too much as the original is also from a newbie looking for advice. Thank you! -

In other words there is no way to have things go realistic, I mean more realistic than now.? -

Yes, even a s total newbie here I can tell and agree 100%, nobody is afraid to die, in real life it would never be the case. Restart/re-spawn and fly again easy, right? I just wonder if there is any way to make it like real life, probably not for the reason said above. Is the PVE more realistic? I mean do AI planes act like real "pilots" in MP servers? -

So where do we learn things properly? Any sources? -

Sarcasm is fun for sure as long as one knows where to stop; you know what I mean. Yes, I draw my conclusions already. It is typical, have seen it in many places, people just like to talk and have time doing it. When the responses get too heated and personal, mods just lock the thread, nothing new, lol, lol. Yes, it has been fun to read how people try to prove their point for sake of just an argument. All good, as long as there is no fight, let people be happy.... talking. -

Pitch control returning to neutral when flying with keyboard

Let me chip in here one more time. DCS is a great simulator or game whatever people want to call it BUT it is also a business. Since it is a business, it is up to ED HOW they want to do business, it is not what customers want (which might be justified and needed or not) but what ED wants. As simple as that, some users have a unbased idea that developers have to do things the way users want, no, it is business and if users do not like it, just do not buy it, period. The whole discussion here is blown out of proportion, user asked if it can be implemented, I am sure ED guys saw it and IF they feel like it is a priority, they will implement, if not, they will not, a simple as that, no matter how much users will discuss here. -

Sure, you can fly with keyboard if that is your preference, you can eat soup with fork as well. But since I believe that DCS is meant for more realistic way of flying, I agree that adding more advanced options for keyboard flying is a waste of resources. There are tons of things ED is trying to address to make the simulation even better and they are doing a great job in my opinion. Someone wants to try with keyboard, sure, have fun and see. I also have a feeling that this thread will be locked soon. -
How to enable external view in Replay?
arb65912 replied to arb65912's topic in Mission Editor Tutorials
Yes, just as simple as that, restarted with my "regular" configuration and all is there. As a side note, that external view was basically to see the AOA in F-16C on approach and landing which since viewed once, does not need external views option except when one wants to see some cool replies. Thanks for the tip on Tomcat (I do not have it yet, but it is a planned purchase in a very near future = this weekend.
