@Flappie probably related to this:

The fix mentioned below has worked pretty well for me, somewhat similar specs as you:

Scripts running inline with simulation -> performance effects

My post in the core wishlist forum is related to this: At the risk of sounding like a youtuber, but given the way they measure feedback on the wishes, please like, rate and comment on the thread if you want to support it. -
UI lags/is frozen when joining certain MP servers
Pendragon replied to Pendragon's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Update: The below trick has been a workaround that sort of works for me. The freeze on join issue is gone, and in-game FPS are higher and much more stable. However, the time to load missions is up, and missions sometimes fail to load before getting to the menus, requiring a full reboot to recover. @BIGNEWY I thought you'd might like to be aware of this. It seems that HPET causes problems for DCS performance in certain hardware configs (such as mine), especially in multiplayer. This kind of problem is not unique to DCS, see this Youtube vid for some more examples of games that struggle with this and benchmarks: -
2.9 MT - All servers work apart from Enigma? Can't even select player slots
Pendragon replied to Hovis's topic in Multiplayer
I have seen this at other busy/complex servers as well (Grayflag and Blueflag for instance), but there it seems intermittent. On the Enigma server it always happens. Happy to jump on a debug session with someone if necessary. I've done all of the troubleshooting steps suggested by support except reinstalling Windows, so a lot of variables have been taken into account already. -

Hi! I'm also struggling with this, I reported it here and to support (ticket still ongoing). Did you find a fix for this? -
UI lags/is frozen when joining certain MP servers

This older thread seems to be about the same issue: @Flappie I'm not sure if you have access to the internal tracker, but would you happen to know what happened to the created ticket mentioned in that thread? -
UI lags/is frozen when joining certain MP servers
Pendragon replied to Pendragon's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Update: this seems to at least to some extent be related to the number of players on the server. With 5 people online the UI performs as expected (except for the initial map load stutters), with 20 I get UI lag and freezes. Same results in both MT and ST too. I've also upgraded to 64GB RAM now, with no improvement. -
Hi! When trying to join Grayflag's server Sinai/Marianas (running server 2.9.2.49940) the UI such as the select role screen becomes really slow or freezes entirely. If I wait for 3-4 minutes per UI interaction and actually get into a cockpit the game seems to catch up again, but opening any menu, even the basic "escape" menu reintroduces the issue. I've seen similar issues on other servers with complex missions as well, but never this extreme. I experience the same issue when trying to join Enigma's Cold War server. It seems very similar to what happens when too much work is performed in the UI thread, and I do get messages from Windows saying DCS is frozen. I've attached a log file when this happens, and a performance snapshot of the DCS process. My DCS version: DCS/2.9.2.49940 Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Memory: 64 GB RAM / 32GB Swap GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX 3080 SSD drive dcs.log

Tacview is a mod used by many to review what happened during a mission and learn from our mistakes. Unfortunately it can cause severe performance problems in complex and/or multiplayer missions. According to this article the root cause of the problem is the LoGetWorldObjects() LUA call in the DCS API. If this is correct it sounds like an API call that could benefit greatly by using multi-threaded asynchronous access patterns. Is this something that Eagle Dynamics would be wiling to implement?

Hi! Just updated to DCS 2.7.16.27869, and noticed the following issue with Combined Arms: the sight in isometric view is offset to the left. What happened that resulted in the issue? What were you doing that caused, or seemed to cause the issue? Sometimes you won't know, sometimes it doesn't matter, but better to try and include it so ED Testers or Team can try to reproduce themselves. I started the ED CA mission "MBT Leopard 2", and entered isometric view. As you can see from the screenshot the sight is offset to the left, and shots go wide. The internal sights also seem misaligned. Not sure if it's related but it's also impossible to see more than just the top of the tank, no matter if I zoom in or out. All these things happen with other vehicles and missions as well. Could you reproduce it? Bugs should be reproducible, you should be able to have it happen to you again before reporting it. It is easily reproducible, happens every time. What module where are you using, and does it happen with others? If you get a bug with the A-10C try it with another module, it could be the A-10C causing the issue, it could be the sim, any investigating you do now, makes it quicker for ED to diagnose Combined Arms, any unit. This is probably related to running DCS on an ultrawide monitor, resolution is 5120x1440 on an Nvidia 3080 graphics card. I'm using the default "1 Screen" monitors setting. Please see the attached screenshot and track for further details. Please let me know if you need other information. Thanks in advance for looking into this! bug.trk
