On May 18th 2023, your patch disabled the Mod Spotting fix. We were informed that a fix was already in test. This is the second patch release since then. Do we have a realistic ETA of when this will be out? Can anyone just give us a straight answer? Don't get me wrong love all the fixes you have made. But flying WWII mostly, the ability to spot an actual plane would be helpful in this flight sim. I would have thought somewhat a priority. Especially with a New WWII map upgrade like Normandy 2. I will stop at this, as I do not want to be punished again.

No Prob. Completely understand. Trust me, I want nothing handed to me. I just want the ability to be able to read through the briefing and mark on the kneeboard map where I feel the target location is. I play a lot of the 4ya Overlord server and feel this would be more helpful. My Idea was open the kneeboard (Pre Flight) Mark the targets by using a mouse and a key or button to mark the spot the cursor is pointing to. Or use it to mark whatever you want to mark for.

Right now you can only mark your current position on the kneeboard. I was wondering if they can add the ability to put a mark for a target on the kneeboard.

I've seen my fathers Kneeboard he used in Vietnam. They wrote many details on it. Not sure how that's cheating? They are Pilots tools. (No Datalink back then hahaha) WWII RAF Pilot Kneeboard null

Are there ay plans to provide more functionality with the kneeboard? Can there be a feature that allows us to mark the target location on the kneeboard and not just our present location. This definitely would be great for WWII.

@DCoffey Its actually really nice. I go back and forth. But VR for a Huey gets me a little motion sick hahahahhs. Funny considering I deep sea fish and have no issues on the ocean hahahha. I really wanted the 4090 but it's price tab is just to big.

LOL Was not my intention. Just frustration . My Fav part is the WWII modules and they are useless without the ability to spot basically anything.

This problem was reported in 2017. What's happening in the last week is because someone created a MOD to correct the issue for people for High Res setups like mine. It allowed me and others like me to be on a level playing field with everyone else. Would people have abused it ? Im sure there are a few that will take any advantage they can. What I find funny is the people that do not have a Hi Res setup are upset that the playing field was equaled out. It took a MOD for the Devs to finally correct an issue that was reported in 2017. This has been in their backlog for 5 years. 5

This is from 2017 ... So we are talking 5 years. So I think we can all agree that this issue has been around. But looks like there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

I have stopped playing till this is fixed (Also heard IL2 is better for WWII spotting. I am going to give it a try) I donate (Money and Modules for give aways) to a lot of youtube channels and discord for their DCS content to help promote DCS. I have now canceled all DCS donations and will startup again when it is fixed. The Day the new patch came out to block the Improved Dot Mod. Arguments and screaming was all over SRS. Pilots being frustrated because they are calling for help and a bunch of the people would radio back they couldn't spot them. The person was shot down and went on a rant about how bad people are flying this simulator. It was so bad people had to switch channels. Its things like this the ED team should be understanding. The Normandy 2 Map is beautiful, and it brought back a lot of former players to play again only to say they wont join till the spotting issue is fixed. Beyond Frustrating. What will it take to have an issue that has been brought up over the years many times for them to actually take it seriously and fix it?

That's why I suggested that a patch should be created that will automatically change the Dot settings according to what you select in your Display Settings. Right now people with setups similar to mine are pretty much screwed. If you take away from everyone then lets see how many people will continue to join servers like 4ya that have no outside views or similar settings.

It should be patched, that when you configure your display settings and choose High Resolution (4K) the Dot config should adjust automatically I am one of the users affected by this 4K bug. Its been an issue for a while but not important enough for them to correct.

I own 95 % of the modules and at this point doesn't even feel worth continuing when In WWII missions on 4ya servers I am unable to spot anyone till they are on my 6. I donate to many of the Groups on youtube and discord for their DCS content. I wont be flying till this issue is fixed. Which means I will halt the donations as well. @buur If you were to right click on a MAP building and choose assign, the building is provided with a name and a object ID. That information couldn't be used to restore it?
