Peak times at Nellis now with many training oppertunities for our newly joined Nuggets and our established pilots. Sunday evening was a busy night with a FAM1 for our nugget showing off his basic skills in formation flying, AAR and ordenance deployment. Besides that we had an active A/G range with JTAC support from our high quality JTACS - RIFLE, they provided our Tomcat and Hornet pilots with some 9 lines and targets to strike. Quite a bit to debrief after but overall another good practice before our upcoming campaign, always something to learn and take from these sessions regardless what they are, that is why we fly and how we enjoy ourselves!

At Nellis we are still busy with recruitment flights and training our pilots, familiarity flights are being done and in addition to that some special missions are held to keep the sharpness. Our latest flight pushed us through the canyons of the Mohave desert and Hoover Dam, a challenging flight with many sharp turns. Lasts week we had a NAVEX session for all our members, an opportunity for the VFA-166 Maulers and the VF-119 Tridents to enhance their TACAN and NDB navigation in a poor weather scenario around NTTR. This exercise consists of a navigation route of approximately 350NM. Soon we will take a well deserved christmas break to start the newyear fresh with a new campaign in Kola, stay tuned more information to follow soon. Last monday we had a joint operation with out friends from the 710th running some DCA on the Caucasus map. Excellent organisation and a fun mission made by our friends. End results . 5 RED splashed, 1 damaged, 0 losses! Added some screens from the event

Yesterdays training session consisted of training without any POD but only using the Ground Radar and Expand modes to pick off targets. Heavy cloud cover prevented any visual aquisition but this was made up for with a dedicated sweep with the radar and resulted in some good hits on target.

Last thursday we had a joint excersise after being in Nellis for a while with our JTAC group RIFLE, assisting us in basic CAS procedures and working on the 12 step procedure muscle memory. null

Nevada - Nellis return After a long flight CVW-66 has returned to Nellis for a reharpening of trainings and our tools. Nellis procedures will be refreshed and both A2A and A2G abilities tested. CVW-66 is currently back in training at Nellis polishing their skills before the next deployment. During this time we are looking for some fresh nuggets to join our group, we currently operate three (fictional) US Navy squadrons; VF-119 “Tridents”, flying the F-14B Tomcat, VFA-166 “Maulers”, flying the F/A-18C Hornet and VAW-101 “Sea eagles”, providing Airborne command & control using LotAtc. Carrier Air Wing 66 is a DCS World PVE multiplayer group, centered on US Navy fighters and operations. We fly events in the EURO time zone and generally fly THURSDAY and SUNDAY at 1930 CE(S)T, which is always 1930 local time in Amsterdam. If you are outside our zone, but the times work for you, you are still free to apply. We can be considered a ‘hard-core’ unit, in that we emphasize training, qualifications and dedicated pilots that fly together over an extended period using realistic tactics, techniques and procedures. Before considering joining, you should be able to attend at least one mission a week as a general rule, in addition to personal training offline. We use Discord as our main hub of interaction and communications between missions . When flying, we communicate using SRS (Simple Radio Standalone). Our student pilots (or ‘nuggets’ as they are called in the US Navy), progress through a qualifications program, where they learn the basic skills in aircraft handling and procedures (IQ), as well as basic weapons and tactics (MQ) and of course, carrier qualifications (CQ). Yes im using WMR seeing i have not gone over to windows 11 yet and havnt updated my system. SteamVR and Oasis will not give me the option to use OpenXR anymore which then reduces my performance cause they are worse options. The mod is working with steamVR as i mentioned in my post but this is not an option.

Well im using a reverb G2 and followed your instructions to the letter and cant get it working, my 2D is fine, it changes all settings. However in VR it doesnt change anything, i can see all the settings but they dont trigger any changes. I have spent 3 hours on this now and i cant see what else i can do. I use OpenXR and quadview companion. I also notice that if i use steamVR it works in VR no problems, OpenXR doesnt work.

I have now seen that fog is a killer for VR performance seeing its directly linked to cloud quality, seeing mine are on ultra adding fog lowers the overall fps. I therefor assume this is the culprit instead of the actual mod.

Not sure what it was called exactly cant check atm, but cumulus layer up high, however we also had some fog on the map i wonder if that impacts performance with clouds on ultra.

Morning, ive noticed that in VR with the cumulus cloud layers that the fps is quite reduced overall, the hit is considerable, weirdly for me this is worse then using full clouds with rain, does anyone notice the same when using the mod?
