  1. Not that bad after all Well after some more testing and UNCHECKING my Vsync I can say this: My FPS are in the 50's (X4 MSAA , X4 aniso, all setting on HIGH, VIS range ultra no CIV traffic) on extremely dense areas or lots of air trafiic going on they can drop to high 20's Only thing still present are the occasional BLACK FLICKERS here and there which I don't know where they come from or what are they all about. SB11
  2. You used PP, not TOO right? cause TOO doesn't work for me even though I followed Wags' video to the letter... SB11
  3. Baltic Dragon thtat's a great video:thumbup: I took your guidelines and D/L the "free muziele" single mission from DCS user files downloads. 1. opened the mission planner and moved WP2 over the closest bunker. 2. the elevation there was 1142 ft. I tried to chnge it to "1" as recommended, but it kept jumping to back to 1142 so I guessed it was the right ground elevation of the TGT. 3. in the A/C set the WP data mode to "precise" 4. set EFUZE to inst. 5. followed the WPs, release within range 6. JSOW C fell about 30 meters short. 7. tried again - missed again. 8. and again so - maybe its the mission that's bugged... or -maybe I am doing something wrong... I'd sure be happy if you could check it out or - maybe upload your mission so I could have a go and see if I"m doing it the wrong way...:( thanx in advance SB11
  4. JSOW in TOO mode always miss Hi all been trying to implement JSOW C's in TOO mode according to Matt's video - but the JSOW"S always overshoot or fall short of the TGT by a 100 meters or so. what am I doing wrong here? SB11
  5. * 3.6Ghz is 3.6Ghz, no matter the CPU, unless this is faster than your old one, zero impact on FPS - my previous was i7 2700 ~3.2GHz * 32GB ram - unless it’s significantly faster speed than your old ram, zero impact on FPS - previous RAM was 16GB 13333 * new motherboard? - zero impact on FPS - just mentioned it * SSD’s have zero impact on FPS - it does - but not at this case SB!! out
  6. first impressions Well I promised I'll come back to you after the upgrade and here it is: GPU still the same: GTX 970. I upped my CPU - now i7 9700K~3.6 MHz, my RAM now 32GiG~3200MHz, my MOBO, and my SSD (much faster now) and.... hardly any change. FPS still the same - dipping to about 20 flying low in busy crowded areas. and the occasional flickering black screen. so I guess that settles it - apparently CPU doesn't have much impact on performance in DCS. it's a pity I dumped about $1500 to find the answer...
  7. Wouldn’t that make my picture jaggy as hell? SB11
  8. I am well aware of that, but giving that my settings are: all on high and tree an preload radius settings are about MAX (except grass and clutter at 500m and chimney smoke on 0) aniso on 4x MSAA on 4x motion blur and SSAA are OFF and res is 1024X1080 would you guess that dropping from 30 (Vsync on) to low 20's above cities is CPU or GPU related? SB11
  9. Low FPS over cities GPU or CPU related? SB11
  10. I will, :music_whistling: still have to wait for all my parts to arrive...:pilotfly: SB11
  11. 16GB @3200 Ghz for now. Dya think I need more firepower?
  12. Well my i7 9700K has shipped so it will be here in a couple of days I hope. For now I am going to UG only CPU+MOBO+RAM and stay with my old GTX970 - see how it goes. I am planning on replacing it with a 2070 eventually but that will have to wait until October...:no_sad: SB11
  13. Whats your CPU, RAM and other hardware? what res are you playing with? these can have a huge effect on your performance SB11
  14. I can see your point, and I can fly 1080 quite well most of the time with HIGH settings, trouble is when it gets busy (carrier deck, airports, furballs, large cities overfly etc.) FPS drops down to low 20's and that sucks...:smilewink: plus it's been long time overdue as you said... SB11
  15. It's a 4 years old EVGA I think. Did a pretty good job up to now...:punk: SB11
  16. PSU calculator says 500W is enough for my new rig...:wassat::hmm:
  17. So. do you guys think that my 650W PSU will be sufficient for a 9700K+RTX2070+16GB RAM+500GB SSD card+ 2 500GB old HDisks + WARTHOG HOTAS? For my current rig (see specs below) it's more than enough, but will bumping up CPU, RAM and GPU require a beefier PSU? I hoooopeee nottt....:( SB11
  18. yeah I'll probably go for 3200 MHz but I'm not sure if 16Gigs will be enough. Oh and one very big deal that just popped in me head - will my 650W PSU be sufficient for a 9700K+TRX2070+16GB RAM+500GB SSD card +WARTHOG HOTAS?
  19. RAM amount Hi all again :) as part of my grand update I will need to buy new RAN sticks. As I am planning on The i79700k, what RAM is recommended? (ie how many Gigs and clock speed) SB11
  20. 1080 at the moment SB11
  21. Thanx Strikeeagle345 I may as well do exactly like you said... go for the CPU first SB11
  22. I think I'll upgrade my CPU first to 9700K + new MOBO + quicker RAM and see how it goes... what do you think? SB11
  23. flickering black screen Just experienced a flickering black screen now when I flew over a large city with an F-14. It went away when I passed and got further away from the city - a CPU or a GPU bottleneck here? SB11
  24. Well, hopefully, I'm going to fly to the US during September so my upgrade will have to wait until then, as I'm planning to buy my parts there (prices here are waaay to high:( So I'll wait to see what Ryzen has to offer. As for the overkill - I get it that I maybe stretching it a bit but as you can see from my specs - I don't upgrade too often, so my system better be ready for the long run... :) SB11
  25. was thinking a 2070 GPU + 9700 CPU combo. that's about $1000 SB11
