Hi, just got the Persian gulf map and found out that A-10c and other modules have instant action but F.C with it's F-15 has none. is it a bug? SB11

Hi just tried to run my game and got a message that all my modules (A-10C, flaming cliffs, and 2 campaigns) are not "authorized" so I tried to run a repair and got this error log: Log file: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\autoupdate_log.txt === Log opened UTC 2018-05-25 05:31:56 INFO : DCS_Updater/2.6.25.40 (Windows NT 10.0.17134; Win64; en-IL) INFO : cmdline: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" --apply repair STATUS: Initializing... jaggies here too +1 -
new SSD first impressions So, been away for some time and been testing my new 500 GB SSD and I must say: WOW! stutters are almost GONE some micro stutters may occur mainly in high activity scenes but nothing like the pre-SSD era... my settings are all on ultra and so far it's all good on the F-15 side. will be trying to see how the A-10c is holding on with TGP on and all and further observation. so far I did nothing except putting my game on SSD, no page file no nothing, just a clean install an a fresh SSD. SB11

So than install windows on the SSD as well would do the trick? (planning on moving to Win 10 instead of my trusty WIn 7 anyway SB
-
I've tried turning V-sync off - didn't make any difference  and stutters are happening om single player, haven't tried MP yet on 2.5 :) I do, however, experience the worst stutters when new aircrafts are entering me bubble - rendering dogfighting and such impossible - in campaign missions which are scripted of course. SB11
-
and by that you mean - completely earse the game from HD and install it on the SSD, and wait with the pagefile stuff?
-
I plan ti completely erase the game from my hard drive and intall it on the SSD. would this have anything to do with the pagefile? SB11
-
don't think I can amp my MOBO to 24 GB RAM... :( SB11
-
Thing is my FPS are high all the way the stutters are huge gaps like freeze ups. Some of them taking as long as 30-60 seconds...:( sB11

just went to another mission on 2.5.0 this time at the "Georgian wars" campaign with an F-15. I have noticed that the stutters became insanely long when bandits entered my "bubble" and dogfight became almost impossible to handle. I don't know if it means something, just thought that I should mention it. Oh, exiting the game took like forever and my whole system became sluggish after it - again don't know if it means something... SB11

Thnx Art-J for your reply, I've just ordered a 500GB SSD a few minutes ago... :) as you said DCS is getting bloated, and with the addition of the F-18 it's gonna get morbidly obis... :) I hope some of this stutters issues are gonna get ironed out when the release version will be ready, but was thinking about upgrading my CPU as well - what is your take about it? SB11
-
thnx scampaboy Admit that SSD was my first thought too, but than I kinda hesitated - won't my old CPU and RAM bottleneck the SSD? and anyway which SSD is recommended for DCS? SB11
-
Hi gents while 2.5 looks great I've been struggling with massive stutters like many others in this forum as I can see. while my FPS are good even in very high settings, the stutters are HUGE even in low settings, some of them are 10 -30 seconds freeze ups, rendering this beta version unplayable for me. question is - what's causing it? is it my aging CPU? (i7 2700 at 3.4 mHz?) is it my RAM (16GB) my HD (should I get an SSD?) or my GPU? (GFX 970) probably - all of the above, but I'd like an advise on what is a must - to get the stutters to reasonable rate or to get rid of it altogether if possible. thnx in advance! SB

Yup pretty sure they have more pressing issues like upgrading the graphics of an inner inner turbine blades inside the engine of the Albatros or aligning the rivets in some forgotten plate of the Ka-50 or fixing a rare and exotic CTD the happen on Linux based systems manufactured before 2001 LOL. anyways, hope we'll get to 2.5 before dementia gets to us :) SB11
-
I'm glad to hear that these issues are being looked into, since they are rather easy to fix and add a huge amount of immersion. needless to say that IIRC these issues haven't been addressed in years . SB11

i've been an old fan of ED's work way back to LOMAC days and admire the outstanding work they've accomplished. But I've been asking myself - isn't it about time lo look into some explosion effects and make them more realistic? I'm mainly talking about ground explosion effects, smoke columns (that are now short and faint) fireballs and such. Most of them haven't change in a long long time and fixing them will greatly improve immersion. SB11

Checked out your future campaigns and I'm looking forward to them. They look awesome, especially the F-15C - been waiting a long time for a proper one. SB11 -

as a former military man, I can tell you that sometimes it's better to "not understand correctly" the orders from up-high and do whats right for your men and mission on the ground... :smilewink: SB11 -
Masada mission problems
silentbob11 replied to silentbob11's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign (legacy version)
MASADA I managed to finish it at last, finished the whole campaign in fact. the thing is you got to follow the briefing and radio commands TO THE LETTER. otherwise you're gonna fail the mission.in Masada mission I found out that what failed me was the fact that I went after that boat and sank it. when I left it for the Georgian Navy, I succeeded :). Masada mission problems
silentbob11 replied to silentbob11's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign (legacy version)
just tried the mission again and it crashed. it comes at the very end of the mission (well i guess it's the end cause there are no tgts left (except the trucks that have been stopped outside the compound) when I try to quit the mission I get a "DCS has stop working" message and then CTD. it's the third consecutive time it happens. [REPORTED] TGP useless?
silentbob11 replied to silentbob11's topic in A-10C The Enemy Within Campaign (legacy version)
