  1. related to the ground mod topic: After I installed the ground mod I noticed that the trees are being "placed" on surfaces very close to my plane. Even though I took the ingame tree visibility knob to the max and visibility range is on "ULTRA". is it the mod or was it always like this? SB11
  2. believe me, it's not even close... :( Sb11
  3. Dloaded and installed the mod and it's great and all but it hardly improves the TGP's visability mainly with cluttered backgrounds such as cities and vagatation :( SB11
  4. Thanks Yurgon, but wouldn't the texture mod interfere with the new ground texture introduced in DCS 1.5.xxx openbeta? SB
  5. Changelog doesn't mention anything about it so I guess they haven't figured it out yet
  6. Right now the uselessness of the TGP makes me use labels otherwise I wouldn't be able to locate any targets at all...:'( SB11
  7. Hi there, I 've been wondering for some time about the TGP in DCS, mainly because in many cases it seems to be quite useless. I mean it's very hard to spot "warm" targets with cluttered background, be it BHOT or WHOT. being an ex tank commander I've been dealing with a variety of thermal imaging devices and in R/L "warm" objects "pop up" against the background and are much MUCH more easy to spot. is this a bug in DCS or is it intentional? SB11
  8. Yup, every new mission I learn that I don't know some new things... thought I've mastered the coordinates thingie, turns out I missed the grid zones part... well, I wonder what I don't know next...:pilotfly: SB11
  9. OK and how do you change it from 37T to 38T? SB11
  10. Just wanted to clerify - I found those tanks sfter I followed the f10 map to predesignated bunkers in the training area. I'm now on the Scheafer rescue mission (he gets killed every time...) trying to follow the 6 digits coordinates sends me off course by a long shot (415 miles to be exect...) so i'm trying to figure out what am I doing wrong... SB11
  11. yup. could be that (push the "-" on the "set" rocker) note to self - check it when I get back from the office... SB11
  12. 3. If you got coordinates from JTAC saying LN 030 669 how do you type it in the CDU? See post linked above. notice that the coordinates here have only 6 digits which sent me way off course... SB11
  13. OK BD, three questions please: 1. do you punch the coordinates with the 38T? i.e: 38TLN59642880? 2. How do you make HUD SOI (via keyboard) 3. If you got coordinates from JTAC saying LN 030 669 how do you type it in the CDU? sorry for sounding confused - this campaign sure is complicated... :\ SB11
  14. Hmmm... Yurgon I've looked into your screenshots and... it doesn't look like my bulls location. 044067 for me has a lot of buildings and a bridge nearby yours look quite empty and has two bunkers close to them. something I"m doing is wrong... SB11
  15. Just did a double check on that mission just to be sure: put the TGP right on the new waypoint I made with the bullseye I received from overlord. unless I am doing something wrong with the CDU OFFSET (overlord call is "044 for 67" so I dialed in 044067) there are NO TANKS ON THIS POINT. What gives? SB11
  16. OK than yurgon can you at least tell me where to look for them? cause they sure are not exactly on the bulls... :helpsmilie: are they on the road? near a factory...? where? SB
  17. marking tgts So, having moved on to "The Falcons and the Hawgs" mission I am directed to three T-55 tanks at bulls 044067 and asked to mark them. I have arrived to the Bulls location but found nothing there. where those tanks at? didn' t find them at all. so I've descided to mark the bullsye location and just transmit the markpoints to the Falcons. no joy here - the comms menue (\ - f10) only offers me to tell them the bullseye (pressing F1) but pressing F1 doesn't says anything. what am I doing wrong now? SB11
  18. oh is it so? if you're correct i was way off... can someone concur? is 38,32 should be dialed in the CDU as 038032 or 03832? SB
  19. Hi baltic Dragon, well I know how to punch Bullseye into the CDU, but as I said - following the bulls I was given (38,32 - so I entred 038032 in the CDU) and I founded no downed pilot at the spot. so what was I doing wrong :( SB11
  20. OK still on mission 3: managed to punch in the coordinates (thanks Yurgon!) get to the outpost and blast the enemy away - than I wanted to head for the downed pilot - I was given bulls: 38 to 32 so I punched it as: 038032 on the CDU offset page. headed to that waypoint but found nothing there... what have I done wrong? and - how to I changed radio frequency so I can talk to UZI? SB11
  21. Hi Yurgon, you mention "grid zones" in your post - what are they and how do you use them? and yes this campaign really forces you to dig deeper in this sim than ever before! thanx SB11
  22. zoom in/out on TAD how do you zoom in and out an the TAD screen? SB11
  23. thanx! i'll look into it when I get back from work, and I'm sure I'll have many more questions... SB11
  24. the campaign looks amazing and very detailed. I'm having a problem though getting through the navigation by coordinates thingy. for example in mission 3 - JTAC tells me to fly to 38 TLN 13723835 and I just don't know what to do with this info. While mastering the art of naving by bullseye offset I'd be happy if someone could help me get passed the coordinates fence. Thanx! SB11
