  1. We already have an F-16. I'd much rather a completely new airframe before a variant of one we have. AMX would be amazing, and like the Jaguar, fill a gap between multirole supersonic fighters, and trainers capable of CAS. I know we have the A-10, but it doesn't have the speed or agility for a contested space. The Gina will give us ground pounders some love in that space too though, but it looks to be a neglected area in DCS.
  2. Like I said in the other thread, nobody is stopping the other devs from continuing this level of detail...
  3. This isn't new though. The Black Shark 3 is largely guesswork, the JF-17 is guesswork adding block II features to the block I. ED making what is going to be essentially an FC-level jet but with clicky cockpit isn't going to prevent the likes of Aerges and Heatblur from continuing to make intricately modelled aircraft. What it does do is allow some more people who don't have the time to invest in learning 400 pages of manual to take part, just like FC does. It isn't going to "become Warthunder" like people claim, it just opens to door to simpler aircraft for less serious players, and allow more airframes to be added to the roster. I don't understand why you people feel the need to gatekeep. Nobody is stopping you enjoying what you do the way you do it. I presume you already have modules you own? They aren't going to suddenly become "arcade" versions. They will still be the same level of detail they currently are.
  4. It really makes me think that the team at Razbam never actually saw one flying in person. Compare the sounds from 04:30 - 06:00 on that vid to what we have in DCS, it's not even remotely close!
  5. Let's repeat it again for those at the back of the room who didn't hear it. NoBoDy Is FoRcInG yOu To BuY iT. Don't like it? Ignore it!
  6. So, having a quick play around in www.thetruesize.com to see how the map would compare.. I took the main areas covered in Ugra's Syria map, and overlaid them on Germany to get an idea of how much of Germany the map could cover. Pretty much all of it fits within the same area covered by the Syria map! I know there will be more objects with the more dense town and the forest and such though, so may not be anywhere near this size. Interesting to think about though.. (yes I know I didn't include Turkey, but such a small area of Turkey is flyable)
  7. Nobody is forcing you to use the modern stuff. Personally I find glass cockpits boring so I use modules like the F-4 mostly. All this whingeing about "balance" but the option is there to just... not use the shiny new toys. There was the F-100 shown in the video, likely to come out this year. That isn't exactly cutting edge
  8. The Redfor aircraft that would be added are currently being used by both sides in an ongoing war. I'm not sure either party has the time or willingness to show documents and give access to aircraft...
  9. It's the F-35A, there's a sub forum for it now with a Q & A
  10. Yeah I know they are in dev, just want to see more of them really to see how far along they are. If it's just a quick flash we know they are a ways off.. but longer shots and deploying weapons.... that would be more positive. And seeing more of the "Germany" map would be good, only seen a border fence and some woodland so far
  11. I'm just sitting here waiting to see the A-7, Tornado and the Germany map... I feel I may be a tad too optimistic
  12. Oh I am just curious why everybody is counting down to 16:00 UTC? It could well be 20:00 UTC yet
  13. BigNewy said evening? I haven't seen any mention today of an actual time.
  14. Well yes, people do actually do that as stores offer refunds for being unhappy with a product.. Stung again by digital purchases......
  15. Is there any chance of a refund to "return" the Afghan map if we don't like this style? It looks awful and I deeply regret wasting my money on a map I have barely used due to the terrible visuals.
  16. That doesn't really provide any benefit if it's not classed as an enemy object, just pretty effects. Oh well, typical DCS. Thanks for the info
  17. I thought it did for Syria, will have to rerun a mission at some point. If they don't, then why bother marking the warehouses as belonging to the faction?
  18. The work you and all the other modders do to improve the sim is greatly appreciated. I've read his books, a few other harrier books too. Great insight into operating the bird. "How to be a fighter pilot" is another good harrier book.
  19. That's fantastic! So, so much closer to the original. Very interested in following your work on this!
  20. With the situation with Razbam and ED, I understand development of the modules is ceased. So are we stuck with the vacuum cleaner whine as the engine sounds? Cockpit sounds seem comparable to the real thing from what I've seen and heard on videos, but the external noise has always been abysmal. I've been near lots of flying Harriers over the years and the sound is visceral, raw. Ear shattering, especially in hover. In DCS the MB-339 has more roar than the harrier in external views....
  21. Could you please share the template/paintkit you used to make these?
  22. May be same for other airfields too, but after destroying four fuel silos/depots at Tarinkot, I was surprised to get nothing on BDA or post mission events. Airfield was marked as Red, my side Blue.
  23. Ok no problem. I guessed there must be a reason! Thanks
  24. I thought I was going mad because I can't find anybody else mentioning it. But why is only the chute retarded version of the MK-84 available on stations 2 & 8? On the other MK-84 compatible stations slick is available, but not here?
  25. I can't find any bits that are "done" to fight over unless I only attack airbases, which gets repetitive.
