  1. Why do you only want the Canadian version?

  3. Thanks for the reply JimMack - with that encouragement I went back to a different Target store in the area and repurchased Lock On Platinum - this time the install guide was there with the serial, so I am installed, registered and running! At this point I would say it was likely a production issue which affected a limited number of games and I just 'won the lottery' so to speak. If anyone at ED would like any more information on the initial purchase please feel free to contact me here or via PM, I can give you store location, time and date of purchase, I think I even have the original receipt if it would help trace down a lot number or something. Thank you very much for your assistance!
  4. I had a strange problem this weekend when I purchased a copy of Lock On Platinum at a local Target store in central California. I brought it home and found that it contained only the two disks (Lock On and FC2) - there was no installation guide with the serial for FC2 on it. I returned to the store, where they allowed me to exchange it for a new copy in stock. I immediately opened it with the clerk at the exchange counter and that copy also did not have the install guide/serial number. At this point I returned the product and they refunded my money. I thought I would post about it here to make sure ED was aware of the issue. There are a couple of possibilities: 1) There are some copies of the retail Lock on Platinum out there without the installation guide (which has the activation key printed on it) in the box. 2) (More troubling) There is a supplier out there who is making and selling invalid/unauthorized copies of Lock On Platinum. I don't think this is likely but I remember the drama around original 'WalMart' early release of Strike Fighters so I know things like this can happen. 3) There should not have been a key in the box, it was either printed somewhere on the disks or in the box and I missed it (both the clerk and I looked carefully and could not find it anywhere), or it is some sort of demo. However, the box was identical to copies of Lock On Platinum packaging I have seen online. From a personal level, I'm bummed at not having the software I wanted - the box was listed at $20 for both LOMAC and FC2, which is the best price I've found (Amazon also lists the same box at this price). I just got a TM Warthog for Christmas and FC2 would be a great addition to Black Shark and A-10 for when I wanted to play with something a bit faster. Assuming this is some sort of production glitch I would happily go out and buy the package again if I knew I could get a key for it, I could scan the receipt or box or whatever to provide proof of purchase. Anyway thought I would bring the situation up, if there is anything I can do or more information I can provide to help investigate this I would be happy to.
  5. THANK YOU! That is exactly it . . . I must have given up on the list when I started seeing control surface axis under the mess of view options at the top . . . all the more reason why I needed it in the first place! Time to go blow stuff up!
  6. Frederf - Do you mean the 'Camera Zoom View' under the Axis Assign menu? I can see that option, however it is grayed out and unselectable (along with the other Camera View options) - the Absolute Views are mappable, but those are not what I'm looking for . . . Wynn, your question was answered in my initial post. I already do lean in, I don't feel that is necessarily more 'realistic' as I am working with a monitor view with a limited number of pixels - I know I can see items much more clearly at comparable distances than I can in game without zoom. Also, pilots are chosen for excellent eyesight, and the zoom also simulates better distance vision.
  7. I have a new Warthog, and it is as awesome as has been reported by many others :joystick:, however one thing I dearly miss (unless I've missed it) is the 'shift' type button that the Saitek sticks have. It would be great if we could use one of the few unused buttons (like the pinky lever) as a shift button to handle some of the view and track IR commands that we sim pilots have to deal with that don't have real-world equivalents. I especially miss the shift-zoom feature I had programmed on my x52, where I could magnify my image for a gun pass and then zoom back out after I pulled off target while keeping my hands on the stick. I have remapped the throttle pinkie switch from a duplicate autopilot engage to track IR freeze, so I can lean forward and freeze it to get a good gunsight view on a strafing run, but that just gives me a better view of the HUD, it doesn't appear to really give me a magnified view of what I'm shooting at. So its more of a half-solution. With that in mind, I find myself staring at the gray 'INCR-DECR' lever on the right side of the throttle, and am thinking how awesome it would be to be able to map that axis to the zoom view, so I can easily zoom in and out during hostilites. We could set a 'min zoom' at one end of the axis, and a 'max zoom' at the other and adjust in between at will as the situation dictated. Of course if the Thrustmaster people are reading this and wanted to enable a simple 'shift' feature to program into the buttons, that would be great too! Maybe they already have and I just haven't gotten that far up to speed yet.
  8. I have an odd problem - my joystick is reporting buttons from the throttle, and the throttle is reporting buttons as the joystick . . . so as I push the TMS or DMS hats on the stick, I get things like the boat switch on the throttle being reported. I have tried unplugging/plugging, only having one side plugged in and loading A-10, loading various Warthog config files, and resetting to defaults. No matter what I do, the controllers are swapped. ** OK I figured this out, I went in and 'Cleared Category' for each stick, and then loaded the default config file for the throttle and the joystick and they went back to normal . . .
