  1. I'm standing on the shoulders of giants, but it's time to raise the topic again. Since then we've had actually good 70's radars represented in the F-4 and AJS37, and they only highlight how bad the F-5E one looks.
  2. At the moment, the F-5E Tiger II radar is rendered with a solid "bar" moving back and forth across the scope, with a solid gradient behind it. Clutter is represented as solid lines of uniform size. I can't find anything to support this is what it looks like, and it does not look realistic to me based on my (limited) knowledge of 70's radar technology. I'm lead to believe there's no solid line: Rather, there's the illusion of one based on the presence of appearing returns moving back and forth. Also, the returns should be appearing like dots or static. I'm overall pleased with the F-5E glow-up, but simultaneously disappointed the radar visuals still look the way they do, especially when compared to how well 70's radar technology is represented in the F-4E module by Heatblur. Attached are two .gifs of the AN/APnullQ-159 scope in action.
  3. nullI've noticed there's a certain point in my field of view where the shadows render differently. As I move my head, the "line" where the threshold is will move back and forth accordingly. Not sure if it's a bug or feature, but it's pretty jarring once you notice it and I think the shadows "behind" the threshold look better.
