  1. If you do the tutorials, and watch some tutorial videos on Youtube you can get up and running fairly quickly. Search my name on youtube I've done several vids form startups to weapon deployment. Also if you have a question as in the forums always someone willing to help out. All in all it is not the most simple sims to learn but with some practice it is well worth it!
  2. Fresh install of windows, Fresh download and install of DCS World. When it gets done installing it pops up a message stating DCS_Updater.exe couldn't load correctly (0xc000007B) Set to run as admin. previous version was working prior to new OS install. Installed to different drive than normal. install directory renamed DCS World2 during install. DX installed with installer VIsual c++ installed with installer. At this point I cannot do anything. <RESOLVED> It would seem that MSVCR100.dll was 32 bit for some reason. Deleted it and reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) seems to be working
  3. Does anyone know how long it ususally takes to hear back on a trouble ticket? I ran out of activations for my BS 1 and am needing to activate it so I can install BS2 (Should have bought the stand alone). Put in a ticket yesterday and just wondering how long my wait will be. Thanks
  4. as tailspin stated all taildraggers cg is aft of the main gear or they would nose down just sitting there. The issue isn't an issue of where the CG is it is an issue that it feels as though the thrust of the engine is coming from aft of the CG instead of fore of the CG. It feels as though you are pushing a wheelbarrow instead of pulling a cart. Glad the Devs are looking into it.
  5. Finally picked up P-51 and while I can take off with only slight issues something doesn't feel right. I have flown taildraggers irl and the thing that seems odd in this sim is it feels as though the engine is pushing from the rear instead of pulling from the front. The tail wants to come around much easier than it should considering the power pulling at the front of the aircraft. You do get torque from engines however the torque here seems unidirectional (doesnt rotate just one way as you would expect). You can just as easily slip the plane right as left when under power on the ground, and can basically "drift" the plane left and right while still going forward on the original vector as if the engine is on the tail and attempting to accelerate faster than the front. I attempted to somewhat illustrate this in this picture. Basically Direction of travel isnt changing when direction of the nose is changing so you are flying sideways as if the engine were in the back pushing the tail to accelerate faster than the nose. This can change side to side with same power settings so doesn't act like standard torque. Anyone else noticing this?
  6. Since you are getting the auto pilot warning maybe when you enter the dive you are trimmed to autopilot. AP is kicking off when you dive and when you pull up you are still trimmed to AP. If the trimming was pretty high it would cause easy stalling of a wind when pulling out of a dive.
  7. If you are talking about Jtac coordinates then watch this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcJ8mlMF7qg&list=UUyUt5eRilqETmhoItMP-xnQ&index=4&feature=plcp If you have any questions after that post them here and ill see what I can do to help.
  8. Just a couple of suggestions.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mint-Saitek-X52-Video-PC-USB-Flight-Control-System-Windows-Flight-Simulator-/270971982488?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item3f17305298 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thrustmaster-Flight-Control-System-Mark-II-Weapons-Control-/370610822544?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item564a205d90 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Thrustmaster-F-16-FLCS-and-TQS-Flight-Stick-Throttle-control-system-/300708323344?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item46039ce010
  9. Check out ebay. Before I pulled the trigger and bought the TM warthog I had found many great options on ebay. You can even get a complete TM F-16 stick and throttle for a decent price, if those are too pricey look for older X-52s thats what I was using before going to the warthog, and almost had enough buttons to map everything.
  10. ugggg. I'm broke till the 15th so I just have to sit here and drool over all of these posts. Guess I'll hop back into the A-10 and make some more videos
  11. I agree with Badger. Do a complete uninstall and reinstall the newest client. Patching over old versions sometimes causes issues.
  12. The Techniques are just basic techniques to help people get started avoiding missiles. Obviously you will need to alter them to suit the situation you are in. The main reason I put them up there is waaaaaay back when Falcon 4 first came out I had no idea how to avoid the sams. If I had at least had a starting reference technique back then I think I would have been much happier with that sim (and not cussing it out everytime I exploded on a mission). So basically the vids are just to give people a graphical reference to help get them on their way so there isn't so much frustration when starting out. And yes SA-11s can be mean SOBs
  13. Cool video! Awesome to see it from another sim pilots perspective. Been working on a mission similar to yours to show a buddy of mine how stressful avoiding sams can be.
  14. I am betting bird strike. I had my first one on takeoff the other day. Wish I had been frapsing at the time as I tried to restart the engine before landing with one engine and a failing hydraulic system.
  15. I've noticed it is generally a close call if you are at a higher altitude. When you are lower you can generally get them to miss you by quite a distance.
