  1. Unfortunately I don't yet have trackfiles of these incidents. I just tried to replicate it but more then just different behaviour under the same circumstances (no target at all in sight or available), one missile went up high whilst the other went pretty much straight ahead. I'll see that I make a trk file soon.
  2. Recently some of my probably less well aimed or at too great range fired Sidewinders have once killed me from behind (some 10 secs after firing the missile and seeing it rushing off into the distance, climbing, I went from subsonic speed to afterburner just after launch) and in some other instances I saw the missile just behind me on the F10 map while I maintained altitude and my subsonic speed. Am I using the missile improper or is the missile having problems? In all instances I fired the missile from the HB F14, some (including the suicide) in SP, some in MP. Thanks in advance.
  3. Thanks for the information. Then i'll try to learn to look at the radar before firing.
  4. Am I misunderstanding the Lock Enemy Target Ahead or is the command not functioning as the name suggests? In MP I regelurly instruct Jester to Lock the enemy ahead (thus trying to avoid locking a friendly) but even though Jester regularly refuses outright (presumably because he has no confirmed enemy on radar) when he does lock a target he follows that up by shouting out that it is a friendly. Very useful mention when the Phoenix has just left the rail... Am I using this function incorrect or is the command not working as intended? I'm quite new so it could well be my misunderstanding.
  5. Good to hear it's not my fault. Just played to missions in the F14 (the BFM training against F5), in the first I hit before passing each other. I played it back in Tacview, but there I saw my shots miss by about the wingspan of the F5. The end result (that first hit somehow ending up being the killing shot) also was not visible in Tacview since I crash into the ocean after seeing the F5 destroyed message in game and the F5 ending up in the sky. I guys I now learn to fly the F14 that my own eyes are more trustworthy than the replays. I'll try restarting, let's see if it helps for me too.
  6. I have this issue with all replay files I tried. I was spireling out of control in the F14, crashing it into the sea fully Maverick style, but the replay file shows nothing a nice slow glide into the ocean. Before that in the same replay I was dogfighting, banking left and right, climbing and diving down. Again, nothing of it all is shown in the replay. Only a spiral a few kilometers wide loosing about some hundred feet every perfect circle it shows. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I only started playing DCS a couple of weeks ago and I'm trying to learn from my mistakes using the replay files. Tacview is also a helpful tool though I'd like to be able to see what I saw in game with in game graphics (still having trouble finding other planes in the huge DCS skies). Thanks for the help.
