  1. Better modding support would be nice. We are playing a video game simulator of hypothetical wars at hypothetical years, it would be nice to be able to change the available weapons of the jet. My understanding of the modding structure is that while we can mod the lua file to place stores on the jet, but not the DLL's managing the stores page on the DDI. For example, the navy went through the process of designing, testing, and integrating the AGM-154B for the hornet, but never actually acquired the munitions in arsenal for the aircraft. The planes, as I hear it, are capable of using them, if the navy, or another country, ordered those munitions. Another example is APKWS. Hornets can carry them as of ~2018, the marines integrated them and completed operational trials. Again, I would like to be able to mod this in to allow for missions post-version-date of the hornet we have(2007)... IE a war in 2020, or 2025. Both of these examples should be possible to enable via mission editor, IMHO. I would like to be able to make missions that may be alternate timelines, but to do so requires either official support (would be cool to have a tick-box in the editor), or, more reasonably, better modding support to be able to make this change, and any others other players might want, ourselves.
  2. Bumping this, seriously we either need the *option* to revert the TDC change, or to change the other screens to match the performance of the radar screen. Probably both. My complaint comes down not to "the radar speed is bad" but that "the screens are different from each other and that *CAN'T* be correct". I do have my questions about if this is the performance it exhibits in flight, given the iron cross (basically the only thing you can make out at 240p for 3 seconds).. but my bigger question is what about the other screens???? Surely they are the same sensitivity right?!! If you are going to spend millions on a jet, and try to make it as combat capable as possible, where seconds count, surely you make the sensitivity the same, right????! At the very least, we have other accessibility options to support the hardware players use, and literally nobody is using real hornet TDC sensors - we should be able to use the radar screen without loosing the SA page entirely to it being unusably slow, because we don't custom mod our hotas to use a rare $750 sensor, even if this is the real functionality, where the sensitivity is wildly different. TLDR, fix it fix it fix it, even as a menu option, just fix it, please oh god fix it.
  3. First off, fantastic map already. This is easily my favourite map. 1: *Fast* bug fixes. Bug fixes early for major issues will help immensely in adoption. Namely things like pathfinding for AI units, Carrier tacan telling me things are behind me and moving when clearly they are in front of me(DCS issue or Sinai, I am still not sure), and I could be dumb, but night time runway lighting won't turn on for me calling ATC to request landing. I would hate to see such a good map burn players (and importantly mission makers) out because of bugs. Truly a fantastic map. 2: Trains. I might be blind, but the map entirely lacks the train network for the area? 3: more famous landmarks like catacombs/temples/bridges/famous buildings. Stuff you would see in "20 places you should visit in X country" lists. There is a ton of them already, keep them coming! 4: a better highest-LoD for the pyramids once you get close, they are a bit.. off. It holds up great until you get within a hundred or so meters. They are THE first thing everyone goes to stare at up close. Minor nitpick probably. Thanks for all the effort that has, and will continue to go into this great map.

  4. Pretty certain it is not bad memory. I have tried swapping the kit out for another (though lower capacity and using a pagefile to compensate) with the same issue, and I have also run windows memory diagnostic, both several passes of quick checks, and a twopass of the extended, returning no faults, and no other software has this issue (on windows or linux, I duelboot). To confuse things further, I doubt it is a bad install of windows either, given that it was a fresh installation when I loaded up DCS as the fourth or fifth game installed and immediately had these issues. Despite what the log file says, I see no reason this should be happening.
  5. Yes, I have verified this still happens without mods installed, the log I am posting does have some active, but the exact same sequence of events happens without any mods. This is simply the most recent log I have. The mods here are UH60, C130, a small set of kneeboards pictures, an interior texture replacement (f18 Canadian interior by justduff), and lazyboot's livery unlocker. Again, I know, modded, scary. The issues started before I installed the mods, yes, all of them. Before anyone asks: Yes, this issue is entirely exclusive to DCS, and I have never had this issue with any other software/game running. Sequence of events usually, but sometimes slightly varies, is: 1. Other software (some or multiple) will crash - this includes things like OBS Studio for streaming/recording, or browsers. 2. relaunching the software and continuing about your day may have it, or software that has yet to crash, will also crash. 3. Shortly after, DCS will crash, possibly taking other software with it (even if it has already crashed it previously). To me, this sounds like a memory issue. Running several memory tests shows my memory is fine, and this only happens for DCS. My second guess, is that DCS is a memory pig, and that is the issue, except I have 64GB of ram, and task manager shows 20GB free at the time of failures, on a second screen. Further confusing the issue, the log claims it is out of memory by 22MB.. Despite having over 20GB free. Is DCS doing some dumb things and loading stuff into the page file with no regard for the perfectly good ram????? dcs.log
