Okay, I see what happened and I've corrected it myself. What is waypoint 8 in the mission SHOULD BE waypoint 9, it's Mormon Peak. Waypoints 8 and 9 are reversed. So I deleted waypoint 8 then added a new waypoint over Mormon Peak after the L1 refueling landing. Also, Iabled waypoints with LS, M5, and L1. And I added a labeled box for the No Fly Container over Groom Lake/Area 51. It'd be nice to have that in all the missions. EDIT: I also noticed that the push point, waypoint 2, was set to orbit until 16:12 rather than 16:14, so I corrected that as well. I noticed this cuz the target waypoint, M5, was flagged red due to ground speed of 33 kts and ToT fixed at 16:28. All the other waypoints had locked ground speed so I unlocked all those as well, then added locked ground speed of mach 0.6 to waypoint 4, the target IP, and mach 0.8 at the target waypoint, leaving all the others alone.

As simple as that. Waypoint 8 is way WAY out of proper position. Pretty quick fix. Please thanks. Compare screenshot to pg13 in the briefing document. EDIT: I thought it was just in mission 3, then got to mission 4. It seems to be in all missions involving landings for refueling at Lincoln County. In fact, mission 4 and up go to waypoint 8 (Mormon Peak) then back up to waypoint 9 (Lincoln Co. Airfield) and then don't bother going back to Nellis AFB at all. Has no one else ever played this campaign such that they didn't notice this stuff? Am I the only one who plays these? I'm correcting them as I go, but it sure would be neat if I didn't have to. Since there's an update coming out, please add this to it. Properly labeling waypoints and adjusting timings, altitudes, and speeds as well would be appreciated, as I find I'm needing to do that as well. Also, putting a box in where the No Fly Container is would be super helpful and super easy to do. I did these things for missions 3 and 4, but decided to just fix the waypoints for the rest. And it is all the rest. They end at Lincoln. Co. airfield rather than refuel there and continue to Nellis like the briefings say.

AGL I reckon.

No matter if I'm flying above 1500ft or not, I'm still told to get above 1500ft. I've just started blowing it off, but still. It gets annoying.

I've been trying to replay the campaign with no deaths. So far no good. I guess skills DO fade fast if you don't fly often. BUT! Now that FFB is working right in DCS again (for me) helo is much easier. This happens in a couple missions. Mission 1 is where I'm fighting with that right now, landing at the hilltop for the artillery supplies drop off, but I know it happens in others too. Not always, but sometimes. Particularly on rough low-angle landings. I would provide a track, but all I have starts glitching out after the landing for supplies pick-up. Once I didn't notice and tried to take off but the landing skid stuck inside the pad and the helo spun and broke off the tail. Incidentally, at that hilltop landing site the smoke is a bit close to the pad I think. If quite restricts the approach. putting it further from the pad would be much appreciated; even outside the FSB perimeter would be ideal, at least 20m away. Pretty please. And then I'm having the problem of not being able to contact the team with the distress call after the drop off.

It seems save game isn't available for any campaigns. None I've checked at least, so I gave up checking. Reflying Paradise Lost, trying to "Iron Man" it, and some of those missions are long and have multiple steps. I hope ED gets it working with campaigns soon.

I could have been clearer. I'm fine paying for a new module ... A discounted price. Not full price. We've been waiting quite awhile. When I bought the MiG-21 like 2 yrs ago I was unaware of its issues. Now that I know, well .. I wish I'd known then. I still enjoy flying it, but there's always the "It's not right" in my head while doing so. Any updates to what now exists tho? No payment. Updates have been LONG coming, and it'll take likely a five-plus years for them to come out with a new MiG-21 module.

All I care about is they get the gorram thing done so they can get on with addressing the problems with the MiG-21bis. It is in dire need of some love, being as ancient as it is with zero updates in ... A decade? ... well......... okay, a couple minor cosmetic updates and a bug fix or two. If Magnitude 3 would freakin communicate with players and more often let us know what's happening perhaps we wouldn't get uptight about what's going on. I had lost all hope. I was on the "Mag 3 is defunct" side of the fence. This is mildly heartening. I just hope they DO address the MiG-21bis ASAP rather than move on to another aircraft; what's next in their list? The A-7? I have read some disturbing rumors that they do NOT intend to address the MiG-21bis's issues but rather intend to make a MiG-21bis v2 and ask us all to pay for it again while ignoring the module we DO have. That would .... not be good. I really really hope it's just that, a rumor. Baseless imagination. Get this one done tho so they can move on. This is ridiculous.

Aim120 can be trashed with a barrel roll and chaff headon
artao replied to GRY Money's topic in Weapon Bugs
Perhaps this should be in a new topic, but it sure seems related. Not me, a video that YouTube popped at me. Dude is going against a swarm of SAMs no problem. Ridiculous. I commonly see people defeating missiles way too easily in DCS. Roll Defeating SAM Swarm -
Yeah chump. Look here. I own FC okay. I play plenty of it. The F-15C is one of my fave planes. And no, the MiG-21bis isn't much better than it. My advice is questionable? Your entire comment is questionable. What is your point child? Did you just come here to be a prick or what? Nothing constructive to say at all. Just want to dis me, that's the ONLY reason you commented. Ready to throw your mouth open and spew out massive pointless BS just to hear yourself. (in this case read yourself) Going over your other comments, that seems to be all you've got in general. Get bent schmuck. Suck rotten eggs. Blocked.

It's fun, but don't be thinking it's particularly realistic. At Full Fidelity prices, you're getting pretty much (at this point) a Flaming Cliffs level module.

Emphasis mine. 2022 update. ........ yeaahhh

All I know is this isn't a good look for Magnitude 3. I for one have total 100% lack of confidence in them doing ... well ...... ANYTHING really. The F-4 Corsair is still vaporware after how long now? It sure seems like they're defunct, or at least rapidly headed that way. Their interest in maintaining regular development seems nil to non-existent. If they read these forums they've seen this thread. But any actual word? No, not really. One inconsequential post from one guy. Once. Which addresssed nothing and only reenforced my feeling that they don't really care anymore. They're not into it, I doubt anything even gets worked on weekly, maybe monthly. And have zero business sense or they'd be on top of the MiG-21 situation. I enjoy the module. I fly it plenty. It's one of my faves. I can overlook the foibles, but sometimes they just rear up in your face and you can't ingnore it. <cough>RSBN<cough>engine power<cough> We won't be getting a better MiG-21 of any sort until some other company picks it up or the user community tackles it. Either way, it's years away. Still tho, sooner than Mag 3 would do it. I've been thinking that maybe part of the problem is the focus on the details of the model. Which really isn't important at all to playing the game. The FM, DM, avionics, etc ... THOSE are all the most important things. I'd rather fly a box with a totally accurate systems and flight and damage model then an aircraft that looks exactly like the real thing but has a crappy FM etc. We don't need nuts and bolts and rivets modeled. No one cares if the cockpits are freakin laser-scanned. (Cleaning up a laser scan is a serious time consuming PITA as well). No one cares of the dials and switches are accurate to the milimeter. If they do, they're playing the wrong game/simulator. Early access would be a lot cooler if the avionics and such were the detailed focus with crappy looking models and textures.

Okay. I have become influenced to accept that it might be possible for a Huey to do these things.

First let me say, I don't often get so into a campaign as to play only it fully to the finish. But this is mostly what I did with Paradise Lost. EXCELLENT campaign. I did play UN Pilot a bit here and there (as well as Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis) but mostly have just been trying to get thru Paradise Lost. The campaign SERIOUSLY improved my Huey flying. If only ED would address the performance issues of the Marianas map, but they get no money out of it so that's unlikely <sigh> Mission 9 tho. ... Mission 9 ... I've been thinking about what to say about mission 9. I flew ahead of the convoy, not just orbited overhead. If I saw a good likely ambush spot I'd zip ahead and check it out then zip back to the convoy. Well, I checked out the woods around those warehouses and saw nothing, so proceeded further ahead. When I got the call about the ambush I was pretty surprised and figured I'd missed something. But finding out where they were? I was like like, "Uh, why didn't I see them when I flew over a moment ago?" Roof colored tarps over themselves maybe? I dunno. <shrug> lol At any rate, they got very very rapidly slaughtered by my gunners. I took almost no hits. SO! Thinking this may be a decoy ambush since it was rather weak, I rushed as fast as I could to catch back up with the rest of the convoy, which was approaching heavy jungle areas where larger ambushes would be easy. I got to them, but was exceedingly surprised to be called back to orbit over the casualties to protect them, even tho I'd already taken care of that. At any rate, proceeding on ... Went to FSB Berlin. .. Let me tell you, I freakin HATE FSB Berlin!! LOL (not complaining, it's the pilot) Landing there is the worst. Took mortar rounds to the face. .............. I crashed there trying to land. Suffice to say I crashed several times not just at FSB B but before and after that as well. Which meant I had to replay that beginning convoy protection over and over. IIRC five times. And obviously, I knew each time exactly where the convoy would get attacked. I decided not to "cheat" and preteneded I didnt' know that at first, and did my escort patrol as normal. But eventually that became tiresome so I'd just wait at the buildings til the bad guys popped into existence then annihilate them immediately. Pehaps it would be possible to randomize the location of the ambush so the player doesn't end up in a situation like I did? Of course, with ED's "save mid-mission" feature upcoming, that will be less needed. But still. ... Gotta say, I was VERY surprised there wasn't a further, larger ambush waiting .... Thanks for a great campaign! I'll definitely be considering your others. I'm likely to create a new mortal pilot to see if I can get thru the campaign without dying. (only 20 deaths registered, 68% mission success .. but easily twice that many including "refly"ing missions) But I would say in general that if you can finish Paradise Lost then you can fly the Huey. It was also during this campaign + UN Pilot that I realized that DCS's logbook is f-ed up. For one thing, it doesn't record flight hours and other stats if you "Refly" a mission. You have to end the mission and then fly it again as the next campaign mission. 76 campaign missions but only 36 flight hours? uhhhhh no LOL Far more deaths as well.
-
I like how you think, great ideas!! Now if only Mag3 saw this ........ Indeed. Do they even care? Would users approaching them even matter?
-
Extremely irritating indeed. Paradise Lost campaign is where I also discovered this. I just turned rain off, sadly, as you just can't fly right with the windscreen covered in rain drops. Don't worry tho, there's not rain in most missions. (I have two missions left)

So for fun the other day, just to see, I tried to do a full loop at low altitude in my Huey and .......... ........ It worked. The helo didn't break. I also almost did a low altitude barrel roll but crashed before I could complete it. But could have. Something is not right with the flight model. A Huey doing a full loop or barrel roll? I think not.

We need to convince the companies making all the combat planes for MSFS to come on over and get 'em runnin in DCS as well. LOL .. As if
-
True. It would be a nice head start tho eh. And some good will, ya know? "The first module released for DCS is now open to the community" Dreams. heheh. It's a source of income for M3 AND ED. so yeah no. <shrug> But a man can dream, can't he?

Position Of Helmet Mounted Sight In VR Is Terrible
artao replied to artao's topic in Bugs and Problems
I ended up setting it to -6. Much better. -
AH! So you mean like the co-pilot in the Huey actually acting like a co-pilot, being able to follow a route accurately and set the radios up like they're supposed to .....

Position Of Helmet Mounted Sight In VR Is Terrible
artao replied to artao's topic in Bugs and Problems
I was only just informed of this via Discord. So cool, at least there's that. Does lower or higher move it down tho? Degrees? Why is that the unit? How about simply "displacement" with no units, that starts at 0 and goes both positive and negative? Makes way more sense. HOWEVER! That isn't accessible while playing. So it's a matter of trial-and-error entering a scenario in the helo, checking the position, exiting the scenario, changing the parameter, repeat and repeat and repeat until it's right. Would be MUCH better to have an in-game adjustment. -
What is "the GMF?"

I honestly don't think Magnitude 3 cares. I get the feeling they think it'd be a chore to work on, and then only begrudgeingly. HECK!! They haven't even released anything yet, and the Fishbed is 3rd on their "to do" list, at best. It's time for them to let it go so the community can work on it. They clearly don't care anymore.
