  1. So for fun the other day, just to see, I tried to do a full loop at low altitude in my Huey and .......... ........ It worked. The helo didn't break. I also almost did a low altitude barrel roll but crashed before I could complete it. But could have. Something is not right with the flight model. A Huey doing a full loop or barrel roll? I think not.
  2. We need to convince the companies making all the combat planes for MSFS to come on over and get 'em runnin in DCS as well. LOL .. As if
  3. True. It would be a nice head start tho eh. And some good will, ya know? "The first module released for DCS is now open to the community" Dreams. heheh. It's a source of income for M3 AND ED. so yeah no. <shrug> But a man can dream, can't he?
  4. I ended up setting it to -6. Much better.
  5. AH! So you mean like the co-pilot in the Huey actually acting like a co-pilot, being able to follow a route accurately and set the radios up like they're supposed to .....
  6. I was only just informed of this via Discord. So cool, at least there's that. Does lower or higher move it down tho? Degrees? Why is that the unit? How about simply "displacement" with no units, that starts at 0 and goes both positive and negative? Makes way more sense. HOWEVER! That isn't accessible while playing. So it's a matter of trial-and-error entering a scenario in the helo, checking the position, exiting the scenario, changing the parameter, repeat and repeat and repeat until it's right. Would be MUCH better to have an in-game adjustment.
  7. What is "the GMF?"
  8. I honestly don't think Magnitude 3 cares. I get the feeling they think it'd be a chore to work on, and then only begrudgeingly. HECK!! They haven't even released anything yet, and the Fishbed is 3rd on their "to do" list, at best. It's time for them to let it go so the community can work on it. They clearly don't care anymore.
  9. In VR, the helmet mounted sight sits around my right eyebrow, causing me to have to have to tilt my head down and awkwardly look up with my eye to see thru the freakin sight. This can't possibly be the correct placment of the sight. It makes it awkard to use, at best. And bugs my eyes at worst, with neck crick. Please move it to the right spot, or allow users to reposition it. Did anyone actually test this in VR? I gotta wonder sometimes, as some issues are simply too obvious to have been missed by testers. How long has this been like this with no one doing anything about it? I can't be the only one to notice this and bring it up. It's ridiculously irritating seeing such a glaringly wrong thing still existing. Don't even TRY to tell me it's in the right position. It's literally over my eyebrow. 100% user-unfriendly. No one would design something like this. Vive Cosmos. I tried adjusting the headset, but no. That doesn't help. The sight is where it is regardless how I position my headset.
  10. Wow. Ten freakin years?
  11. Playing mission 6 here you're supposed to follow flight leader. The problem is he can't seem to maintain a constant speed or altitude. I'm constantly having to slow down or speed up. He says to fly at 100kts, but then flies at 80kts himself. At turns he'll often slow down to 40kts or less. Then, when it gets to the waypoint where the player is supposed to drop off troops and you're supposed to land within 40m of the flight leader, he just kinda meanders along low to the ground and ridiculously slow. I'm just like, "Will you please just show me where to freakin land already?!" Is this campaign broken? When was it last checked against updates?
  12. GOOD GOD Relative position would be awesome. I find it very frustrating that the cursor moves with where I look. Cursor color and transparency I hadn't considered, but that indeed would be very nice. Thank you much. I'm certainly going to try this.
  13. Ha ha. A lot of times I have to wiggle the mouse to get it to move or even appear, and I accidentally hit the left mouse button while it was over "Quit."
  14. Anyone got any tips on tuning? In particular for helos. Settings relationships between the Logitech software, DCS, and simFFB ....... I'm just not getting it; thus haven't been using simFFB. Largely cuz I feel like I'm just blindly groping around.
  15. I was playing a campaign mission yesterday, in VR, and opened the ESC menu to check on a key binding. I accidentally hit Quit instead, immediately dumping me out of the mission I'd been in for over 30 minutes already. "Quit To Desktop" has a confirmation dialog. Pretty please add one to the "Quit" as well. I just sat there with my face in my hands for like 10 minutes afterward. This isn't the first time I've done this, but it's the worst time.
  16. Anything done about this yet? Seems not too difficult a solution. Swap the binds.
  17. I was wondering about this. Another damn shame situation with ED just letting stuff slide. Just cuz it's an older module doesn't mean it deserves to be ignored. It's a crazy huge important aircraft in the history of air warfare. It's unbelievable how little effort ED seems to put into older modules. <sigh>
  18. Yeah, I was about to report this. Been on a list for years now? Perhaps it's about fricken time it got fixed!! WTAF! Seriously, how can they leave such an egregious bug present as if they don't care. "Oh, just turn off the rain. It's fine." No. No it's not "just fine." Why is the rain even there then if we're just to not enable it? The things ED totally blows off gets more and more and more frustrating and even infuriating. For now I just turn on the windshield wipers as if they work and play make believe as if it's 1994 computer gaming or something.
  19. Due to the Huey campaign Paradise Lost being retuned for the new engine model, I spent a LOT of time fighting with it. And setting some curves, such as 30 on the collective. I am now quite comfortable flying with the new engine model. It's still too powerful and can get the Huey going WAY too fast. And IMO too much left pedal needs to be applied too often. But HEY! At least I can fly it as if I have a clue now.
  20. I was going to ask about this. As far as I can tell, this happens when doing parts of the startup procedure out of order. I've had it show both max and nothing for pressure. I can't quite work out exactly what part of the startup sequence messes it up tho. But I THINK it has to do with turning on the inverter before the engine is fully spooled up, also possibly due to disconnecting ground power too soon. I can not reliably reproduce it, but when it happens that seems to be the commonality.
  21. So I have never in my year+ that I've had the Huey have I ever attempted sling loading. I've been afraid of it. Imagining how hard it will be to control the helo with that weight hanging underneath it. So I did a user-made sling load training mission first. NAILED IT on my first try. Like 10+ sling loads to do in that mission. I moved on to the 2nd and. .......... Pulled a maneuver WAYYY too hot to slow down and fell into VRS and boom boomed. So I just jumped directly into mission 4 in Paradise Lost. Nailed it first try. \o/ WOOT!! I'm gettin the hang of this new engine/FM model. I notice that I tense up a lot, particularly when trying to slow down into a hover. I start making many fast jerky movements on cyclic and pedals and tryign to counter with collective. Then I (out loud) tell myself, "Relax. Calm down. Smooth. Smooth is safe and safe is smooth." And LO! The helo is suddenly stable in flight and I barely have to make adjustments at all. Amazing what a mental block can do eh. Sadly, the reply is corrupt and the helo is jerking left and right in yaw and I end up crashing while attempting to land after dropping off the cargo. FREAKIN TRACK REPLAY SYSTEM GAAAHHHHH!! I really really wish DCS would fix it. I know there's something in their pipeline about it. But still. GAAHHH! How hard is it to screw something that simple up? Flight sims have been recording tracks for eons. But DCS can't do it right. <sigh>
  22. Wait what? I too use voice attack. What command can you make that centers the mouse in the VR view? "Center in HUD" is useful in aircraft with a HUD. Huey and such tho, not so much. The more I think about it, simply an option to "Restrict mouse to VR view" would be SO freakin awesome. Most of the time when I "lose" the mouse cursor it's outside my VR view. Which is needless and .... Why?
  23. If only ED would take it over. They haven't been doing "great" recently, but at least they're doing SOMETHING. Mag 3? uhhh .... Updates whenever, no real info. Just ..... I don't really think they're that into it. At all. Heyyyy now. Hold your horses there. Let's be careful about saying how much we'll pay for stuff. Modules are already on the high end of pricey. For real tho, I'd pay a reasonable amount, like 15 to 20 bucks usd, for an update to bring the MiG-21bis up to current standards. While they work on a v2. (Which current owners would of course get a nice discount on. Say ... 30 or 40 bucks usd)
  24. I find that hitting ESC to open that menu often helps me find it. Using the F10 map is a good idea, might try it.
  25. I can't tell you how many times I have "lost" my mouse cursor while in VR. I wiggle it around and it's nowhere to be seen. I catch a glimpse out of the corner of my eye and look over there, but no mouse cursor. Pretty please may we have a command to center the mouse cursor on screen in front of us? Also, how about an option to limit the mouse cursor to remain within the VR field of view. When I "lose it" it's most often outside my VR view. Thanks.
