  1. Hi Tony, 'fraid I can't help with hardware stuff, it's not something I know much about, though if DCS does actually run and display the DCS main menu then your original question re how to connect from Steam to DCS is already working. Perhaps best if you log a question on the Steam DCS link that I posted earlier detailing the actual problem that you have, with details of your system, then someone there may be able to help.
  2. In the main Settings menu for the headset, under Power, I've set the Display off item to 15 minutes which works fine for a short break and I use that both with Link cable, when using a joystick and also with the Oculus Air Link, (not VR Desktop), when using a collective. I also had used Voice Attack extensively when I used a Valve Index headset which worked really well and was annoyed to find that the Quest Pro microphone was duff, with the same low signal notification in VA. In Windows audio settings the microphone levels would never get past the 50% level and the Meta Help(less) forums had many logs re this with none of them resolved by the Meta support bots. I tried a boom desktop mike but minor noise levels in the room made recognition iffy, finally got it working with a clip on Lavalier wireless mic setup, which works fine after taking off the 'wind' foam cover, and was only £15. This was the only one that I found that works with a PC rather than just with a mobile phone https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0CWXRG77S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  3. Hi Tony, I may be able to help as I have bought all my DCS modules on Steam and launch DCS from my Steam account. First though, are you asking how you would connect your Steam account to DCS, IF you were to install DCS World from Steam on to your PC, or have you ALREADY installed DCS World on your PC and can't connect/launch DCS? If you haven't yet installed DCS World from your Steam account, then as part of the installation and first running of DCS, you should be asked to complete a registration form as a new DCS user and have to respond to an email sent to you to complete the process, after that when you run DCS from Steam your login credentials will be passed to DCS and the main DCS menu will be shown where you select aircraft/missions etc. If you have installed DCS from your Steam account and it won't run then you could have a look at the DCS help section on Steam. https://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/ Do note though that I installed DCS on Steam 3 years ago and the DCS main login & launcher pages are now different - though I doubt that the actual connection process from your Steam account to DCS registered account has changed, but I could be wrong about that. Oh, and welcome to the Free to Play DCS World, make sure that you count how many arms and legs that you have now, I seem to be missing most of mine.
  4. Thanks for that, turning that off has cured the 1 to 2 second freezes which were randomly spoiling my normally smooth VR flights.
  5. That's great, glad you've got things working, enjoy the fun!
  6. Hi, I haven't changed any settings in the VKB software, only in the DCS menus. For the F-5E in Settings-Controls-Axis Commands-Wheel Brake item under the VKB Gunfighter column I've set Add Combo by pressing the joystick's wheel brake lever, then selected Tune combo axis for that item and ticked the Slider and Invert boxes. For the NWS in the Controls-All but Axis Commands-Stick-Nosewheel Steering Button item under the VKB Gunfighter column I set Add Combo by pressing button 10 on the joystick which is easy to press and hold whilst twisting the joystick. So when taxiing, to turn left or right - press and hold the button that you've set on the joystick, twist the stick and then release that button when you have turned to the direction that you wanted. After you have released the button then twisting the stick won't change direction unless you are going so fast that the rudder has some effect.
  7. Well, I'm no expert but do have a Gunfighter IV MCE Ultimate Twist, for the wheel brake lever I set it to Slider Invert and it works fine and is listed as Slider2. The NWS on some planes requires the button to be held down while turning the twist, then released to continue straight, and then held & twisted again for a new heading. Perhaps this is the case with the aircraft that you are using?
  8. I use only VR and have used both cursor confined to window, and also not confined, with no problem. The only time that a white dot remains rather than the yellow cross, which always disappears by itself, is if I have the default kneeboard page displayed and move the white dot off the kneeboard into the cockpit view. As soon as I close the kneeboard then the white dot disappears. Perhaps the SRS window that you have open could be causing it to remain on screen?
  9. Thanks both for the replies. Yes, it is the 1.60 miz version, I haven't tried the COLD miz version. Apart from setting onStart = no, the only other thing I have changed is the start time from 6:30 to 9:30. I've attached the data file in case that helps, though the timestamp on that looks to be from the previous session rather than the one that I could only end by stopping the Steam DCS session after the HeloTroops error panel appeared. 10. First a quick thank you for all the missions that you have made, I really enjoy playing them in VR with the various helicopters. I have hit an error when carrying assault troops, I'd run Expansion from a fresh start for about 2 hours and had dropped troops and captured three places using the Mi-24, then quit for a break. When I restarted Expansion I spawned the Mi-24 with assault troops at Nalchik and headed for October which was the next objective, after a few minutes en route had an error panel re Helotroops, screenshot & log attached, this just reoccurred when pressing enter, so I had to kill the Steam DCS session. I restarted DCS and spawned a UH-1H, just to see if that made a difference, at Nalchik, loaded assault troops and set off for October, the same error occurred after a few minutes heading towards October. And totally unrelated to the above, I have set the Stopgapconfig to No as that dropped my fps to single digits, which works fine but on one session that lasted over 3 hours when I flew back to Nalchik the fps dropped to single digits and all the parking slots were filled with some very pretty aircraft. I noticed that there is a 'refresh' setting set to 3600 in that config, is that something that I could also edit? I don't want to change to some random number that might cause other problems. Sorry that was so longwinded. Expansion-dcs.log
  11. My thanks to @ricktoberfest for mentioning that setting. Moving the slider to the left & right does go from positive to negative settings, I just moved it left to -10 which allows the HMD sight display to look below and above the KA-50. That's with a Quest Pro, as the +11 setting was only useful for bagging seagulls for the pot.
