  1. I ended up buying project lasso because I was so impressed with what it did for me, I now use the following setup for dcs When dcs is running it runs PL... Only on cores 0-15 (my p cores + hyper threads) - I haven't tried it without HT just yet I also have every background process except essentials locked to my e cores High performance power plan High priority I don't use vsync anywhere no nvcp or inside dcs etc All frame limiters are removed (evga x1, nvcp, etc) except in dcs where I have the frame limiter set to 60 NVCP prefer high performance, Nvidia low latency ultra WINDOWS all game things off, game bar, game mode etc HAGS off This seems to give me the most constant performance, however there are the usual little tweaks, and i still have to do the core 0 toggle every time, to get rid of small glitches, but then after the toggle they go away Still getting performance drops but the above settings seem to be most useful setup, definitely needs some serious looking at by ED tho, this is the only game I have had to go to this level of messing around to get 60fps all my others are fine, maybe a tweak here or there but this took me weeks!
  2. Best results for me was to disable vsync everywhere and just use the frame limiter in dcs, that and several other things like, using process lasso to control cores and other tweaks that can be found here Or here both are good threads with helpfull fixes, for me personally ive gone as far as i can with changes, ive got solid 60fps using the all vsync off and frame limiter to 60 and I'm using PL to force dcs onto Mt PCores, which seems to be working still the odd stutter or bad frames but that's dcs at the moment I'm not pushing my machine at all to run the game lol 16-23% cpu and less than half my vram basically all the time and less than half my ram yet still issues pop up but for the most part I'm OK with it, ive gon as far as I can, so I'm now in the sit and wait for a fix camp
  3. Yup, not sure how to get rid of them haha
  4. And now, without me doing anything or touching a thing It's gone back to awful, ive been trying to stay positive about things but this is really starting to wear me down now. Update some time later.... And now it's back to OK, all I did was restart the program a few times during testing and then try the ST mode a few times then back to MT and its smooth, real smooth, I actually turned off vsync and just ran with the 60fps limit, ive never seen it so smooth, I don't really know what's up with it any more, has to be something in the game, When It was running smooth inwas using %16 cpu, 5k of my 24k video memory and 41% of my ram. I don't know what to say. Apparently turning it off and on again and trying ST worked haha https://youtu.be/2RBfQf-8lxs
  5. OK a new one to try, ive just removed the following with revo Uninstaller and I think it's helped! Universal Holter rgb dram Patriot viper m2 ssd rgb Patriot viper dram rgb I think there packages allowing rgb controller programs to control outdated hardware, it's hardware I never had, so I Uninstalled it, the amount of little stutters I had started having in other games has disappeared, take a look and give it a shot
  6. Holy crap that's bad! I don't have anything to help at this stage, but what's interesting to me is the 6months bit, I posted a video yesterday that was recorded September/November last year, where I didn't have to do any of the stuff I've had to do in the last month to try get it to run smoothly. I just ran dcs and it was perfect, not now tho. Now you need a doctorate in applied computer sciences or a big bag of luck to make it run smooth haha. I do have faith in the devs tho, they have pulled it out of the bag more times than I care to count, let's just hope they find the underlying issue soon, I'm ready to help out as much as I can, just so damn frustrating tho, sorry I can't be of more assistance
  7. OK I'm going to go buy a lotto ticket, I was messing around with some settings post last message and I decided to see what would happen if I forced the GPU (through the evga controller overclock software thing) to limit the gpu to 60, I then went into dcs and turned vsync back on, it's dead stable at 60fps with vsync on, Finally after all this time smooth frames with vsync EDIT: i just want to point out that this video was recorded in November 2023, the only thing that has changed since then is DCS. I'm not sure what went wrong but something really has, all the sleepscapes on my chanel were recorded pre these issues happening, the frames have been too bad for me to record any new ones, so there is definitely something wrong somewhere, because everything else is unchanged, the one below was made just after 2.9 dropped, that's why the mfds are flashing
  8. An interesting update today, the project lasso thing worked flawlessly for me, (hybrid cpu, 13900k) it as astonishingly good infact However, vsync is still an issue but in a weird way, so with vsync on and display up I noticed that in cpu bound it was flawlessly smooth, however as soon as it went to gpu bound the glitches came back Not sure what to make of that
  9. Just watched this, I'll give it a go tomorrow, beats manually messing with the cores each time
  10. Fully agree about the 60 fps vsync thing, and ive allready done all the allowing things through AV, but what's the MT.lua? Ii never herd of it, got a link?
  11. OK further testing, I noticed that after installing my exports the glitch came back, across both versions but worse on MT I continued to trouble shoot and it looks like toggling core 0 has helped, I have posted a video on another thread showing my results Here is the video i wonder if what causes ghe glitch is a certian level of cpu usage? Perhaps it didnt make it there whit out the exports, but with them now on regardless of screen extension it has reached that limit, or maybe it's trying to render it regardless?
  12. Ok here you go.. First up, I have not messed with AF in this video or at all just wanted to test the core 0 trick on its own, I will try the AF off setting later and post it in an edit here, In this video I'm testing the core 0 trick Vsync Is off in DCS and NCP All settings are displayed before the respective tests I also included my PC Specs as well, I am using the DCS frame limiter in this video, set to 65, as i was trying to see If running it there would cause the drops not to be seen (that idea didnt work by the way) So here's the video, I have included time stamps and as much relevant info as possible @BIGNEWY I would like to be as much help as possible, please PM me with requests for any information you need, I am happy to send you anything, including all of the 3dmark benchmarks I did (cpu, gpu, storage, pcie speed etc etc) UPDATE: DCS in extended screen setup AF 0 - no change Vsync on - drops were worse more regular and C0 toggle did nothing Vsync off FPS Limit set to 60fps - C0 toggle worked as in the video above
  13. I will test this tomorrow and report back! Can we turn it off in dcs but on in the Nvidia control panel to compensate or not at all?
  14. It makes no difference, 2 posts ago all the vsync testing was done with the internal dcs vsync, i was just trying the Nvidia one to see If it made any difference, the dcs vsync is much worse, but it's an extended screen/export issue as far as incan tell, the comparison video 2 posts up was made with the internal vsync with the only difference being the screen extension settings, but i will give it another shot just incase I missed something
  15. Agree, the glitches don't seem to have anything to do with bottlenecks or the system being overloaded, my set up was and is still glitching when none of the system is even out of first gear, doesn't seen to really matter how high or low the settings are it still has issues
  16. I'll try it out too! The more of us who test it the better Edit: it made a little difference for a few mins then it went back to the glitches, tried it a few times, no real improvement Edit Edit, I'm an idiot, I was in standard dcs not MT dcs when u tested, i have concrete proof of it now, It makes a huge difference, I'll upload a video soon
  17. Are you running extended screen/multy screen? If you are, try running dcs on 1 screen at your normal resolution and see if the issue is still there, I found my glitches were caused by running an extended/multyscreen setup If you want to read more here's what went through to find it, it may not be your issue but give it a try
  18. How many of you are using an extended/multy screen game view? I went through a few weeks of testing and trying to find my glitches to the point of formating my computer and starting over again, I found that the extended screen/multyscreen that was what caused it. There's nothing I can do to fix it, just have to wait for a patch, could be what's causing your issues? Here's my thread just incase it may be of some help to someone, I tried a lot of things, they may or may not help you but I thought I should share my experiences, just incase Good luck guys https://forum.dcs.world/topic/343265-really-bad-frame-glitches-5-7fps-with-vsync-finally-found-the-issue-extended-displaymultyscreen/
  19. I just needed to know that for sure it wasn't my machine, so I spent all day benchmarking in 3dmark and then jumped into DCS and wound everything up to max and then made this video, vsync is being provided by Nvidia control panel in this video and I have it set to one screen It's definitely the extended screen settings
  20. Sorry for the late reply, I did some testing around the "bad export scripts" I deleted the export script I was using, and made up a generic one, that had no improvement, I then installed helios and used the one it generated, no improvement and I then installed all the script port things that helios uses to export the data to its displays and there was no change to the glitches, so it doesn't look like it was due to bad export scripts, or I misunderstood what you ment by export scrips, Can you think of anything else I could test?
  21. I FOUND IT, I FOUND THE PROBLEM It's something to do with the dcs extended screen settings. Since the last post I made I have completely formatted my PC and rebuilt windows. I have reinstalled DCS from the bran new unified installer, helios is not installed, simshaker is not installed, track ir is but not running, I have win 11 pro installed and OBS installed, (ofcorese all the latest drivers and latest versions of all my controllers etc etc etc) I simply installed DCS, Installed my modules and went to testing I set up a basic mid to highish graphics setting and re did my tests. When using the normal display setup (1 screen) and vsync, (left side of the screen) there were no issues, minor little wobbles but nothing like... When using the extended display the glitches returned (right side of screen) This was repeatable, I did several tests of it before I booted OBS and recorded the footage A couple of notes, 1) the glitch happens on the menu screen when at idol (with extended but not when not extended) I just forgot to grab footage of it 2) the second video the glitches on the right side get substantially worse the longer the video goes, skip forward to about half way through the second screens if your in a hurry 3) I didn't bother testing single thread mode because MT has allways been worse. 4) this was repeatable for 2 hours of testing Anyway here's the video, left is non extended right is extended So at this stage either this is it or my ridiculously over powered computer that I built around DCS is not able to handle DCS hahaha @BIGNEWY @silverdevil what do you guys reckon? I'm terribly sorry for all the time of yours that I have taken up, but I would love to hear your thoughts And of corse, thanks again
  22. Yes I allowed everything that can do anything with dcs, Today I finished going through the list bignewy sent through the other day None of those did anything to help, including turning off hyper threading in the bios i also tried re arranging the extended displays between over under and side by side, none of that made any difference, although I did notice that with hyper threading off I actually got worse performance while not using vsync. I also noticed that changing between technicolor 3 and no filter caused a string of drops However when I wasn't running the extended screens and just ran dcs on a single screen the issue dropped all the way off, so I wonder it that has something to do with it? I also had a comment on a video on the problem to do a ufo check to look for a display dropping frames issue, that had no issues at all At this stage I have ran out of options My last little thought is that it could be that the dcs install is currently on a different m.2 than the OS is, so I think I'll wipe the PC, reinstall win 11 and make sure the new version of DCS goes on the same drive Other than that I'm out of ideas Fingers crossed the new unified version reinstall does the trick I just don't get it, none of my other games or programs have any issues at all It's a real pain because I would have loved to figure out what the trouble was, you now, just the thrill of the hunt and getting the kill but oh well Thanks to everyone who was gave there time to offer help and suggestions for the trouble shooting really appreciate all of it
  23. Downloaded the log tool, everything was fine with it, looks like you were right about malwarebytes I have not updated to the new version just yet, I kind have developed a bit of a fixation on this glitch I have decided to wipe the pc, reinstall windows and rebuild the whole lot, pc is due a refresh anyway, However I did some more testing tonight, just incase I caught it, The log had no errors on it that lined up with the glitches It's not dsr factors, turned that off and on, nothing It's not the extended screen settings, tried it tall, wide and nothing ---- note now think this is the issue, I only dropped the resolution when I tested it without the extension on, I didn't change the screen mode thing----- Updated Nvidia again, nothing I'll format the pc tomorrow, install the new version and cross my fingers
  24. So your sure it's safe? Cause I'm now at the point where I don't know what to do next, On top of everything I did on my lunch brake, since I've got home I've... Deleted saved games folder let it re build Removed armory crate Removed any program I could see that I didn't need just incase Let every program I use with dcs through malwarebytes Updated every driver I could find on the mobo website Ran memtest 86 Even reset my bios to the last version i had I've tried everything with no improvement at all. Here's what I know It's worse in MT It's worse with vsync on It happens regardless of what extra programs are running or not running. I think at this stage if that program is safe I'll ignore the warning and give it a look Cause I'm lost. I just don't get it As bignewy said, I think at this stage the best corse of action is to wait for the next update and see what happens.
  25. Sorry, yes I ment the one in DCS, according to the link it's the "present" one, what is that for what does that even mean haha??
