  1. I think DCS gives a good idea of why the F-16 is far ahead with the HTS pod. It gives a far greater awareness in a complex SAM environment than the HARM sensor can. In the case of attacking a known SA-10 site perhaps the F/A-18 can leverage it's better range of stores, but how would the F/A-18 go without a HARM on it for a sensor, and in an environment where shoot and scoot engagements were occurring? Also just on the TALDs, I think the could potentially add a lot of complexity to a radar picture if used well. It might force an operator to take action even if they suspect it is a TALD, just in case it is not.
  2. I have also been seeing this for a few updates. As far as I can tell, there has been some changes made to the edge detection. In this F-15E you can see prominent edges on the fuselage aren't aliased at all, and I don't think it is sharpening. I turned off the driver sharpening and I am using the DCS built in sharpening at a fairly low level when I took this.
  3. I am also getting MSAA issues, it's not working. I'll use reshade as a workaround.
  4. I feel this is probably the same bug that was reported here. It might be worth having a look to see if that is the case.
  5. I haven't done it in ages, but you can get 20-21-ish sustained as per the figures that were released in a GAO document (it was bashing the Super Hornet a bit so it was picking the points where the classic Hornet had an edge) pretty much bang on. The issues is that it's just a single datapoint, and the Hornet is on a bit of a knife edge doing it - if you get slow you really get slow fast, and if you get fast the G limiter starts limiting your turn rate. Pulling the override just make it a little more F-16 like where it can do good STR over a greater range of speeds but this is IMO abused by people who then complain it over-performs. I typically do it at 360-400KIAS depending on weight but if you're fighting someone it's much more fluid than hitting numbers like that. IIRC - The big advantage of the F-16 is the rate speed is high over a portion of the envelope and because it can use vertical and gain speed so fast, it can force the hornet to get slow by being able to sacrifice some speed to get the nose around while not losing out much on the ITR. Also, any time you're >15,000ft the Hornet starts to lag behind pretty much everything. I personally think ED did a good job for public only data sources.
  6. Seems like no one agrees with us.....yet I think the issue is demonstrated and repeatable....
  7. Hi guys - OK so this mission again - it's really complex so I am not surprised it is difficult to get working. The Helos are taking off again which is great. 1st issue - Bucket 74 doesn't give me much fuel at all before he just pulls his basket and goes to land at (is it Rene Mouawad?) as if fuel diverting. This means that by the time that I am relieved, I am basically coming out of the area with < 2000lbs of fuel. By the time the replacement Bucket 74 is available I am at 900 when plugging, and I have punched all of my remaining stores (tanks and Zuni pod). So yeah I went first. I was trying to be fuel conscious the whole time but the PICKs really forced me to use some up. To be honest I was expecting the fuel state to be reported and maybe those Harriers could have been in a bit earlier? 2nd issue - I downed a PICK with a 120. The other one I shot two AIM-9s at and they missed for flares (suckers), so I gunned him, needing two passes. After the 2nd one is shot down, I get a line saying that the first one is shot down and the second one is heading home...which isn't what happened so that probably didn't help my fuel state. 3rd issue - after that I get Olive to plug and she does so for like 2 seconds then flies off somewhere. I just head towards home and eventually Flip says thanks for the drink. I get the message to switch marshal eventually, but it seems like someone is hot mike and blocking the channel and I can't raise mother. In fact, all channels on Comm 1 are blocked. If I manually enter marshal on Comm 2 and try it, also blocked. Even then, with so little fuel when plugging, having less than 4K is not a lot to get to the carrier and land but it is do-able. And bonus issue - was I missing a message about going on station just before the APC and trucks? I just get a prompt to reply. Sometimes it seems like the radio is cutting out due to distance or something? In the end though I got the experience of the mission if not the recovery. The concept of the mission is really good and it's a very fun mission. Have I perhaps done something wrong that contributed to my issues?
  8. Yeah I understand, it's not a G-Bucket, it's very strange, it happens only like in my track if I time it correctly. Like, pulling fully at 340Kts where at 320Kts it doesn't occur.
  9. I am also seeing this. In this track near the end you can see I have enabled the controls indicator. I am full aft stick and as I pass through 360Kts all of a sudden an extra G is on. The plane is accelerating through 340-350Kts because it is being held at Missing_G_TRK.trk~5G.
