hello @Chizh is the DCS FC3 Su-33 Radar diffrent then the Su-27 radar? because in the real world they are slightly different.
-
Thanks man. So it look like RVV-AE can more then 50km for some Target to 80km.
-
Not greater rang. the range is limited by the missile Specifications. (other factors like the speed and height can manipulate the result). What can the pilot doing if he do not see he's hostile because of the radar limitation, or he can see but can not lock. in my opinion. in ethiopia eritrea conflict was the same missile used by both sides, by the way it was R-27R, but the Flanker had more horizen to see and lock.
-
Exactly. I think this why Ethiopian Su-27s had won vs Eritrean MiG-29s in 90s war.

Thank you Chizh for your response. Hire information about Russian missile provided and written by Dr.Carlo Kopp the Air Power Australia Editor-in-Chief Head of Capability and Strategy Research. so he is definitely not russian propagandist. and in his information we fund that R-77 which is the Russian version of the RVV-AE had 54 NMI Kinematic rang = about 100 km. I can give you the Doku in pdf. for more info. about Dr. Carlo Koop

Thank you Chizh for your response. Can you show me evidence how the RVV-AE loses to AIM-120?
-
Hallo @Chizh what do you think about this? An 1993 article co-authored by Head of Vympel bureau Sokolovskiy(Соколовский), Lead Engineer & chief designer Bogatskiy(Богацкий) and representative from TsAGI(ЦАГИ) Kojinov(Кожинов) . Where among other things, such as optional launch from rail, passive guidance mode, they state that R-77 lattice fins slight drag increase and heavier weight it still surpasses Aim-120A in range. And that military experts who conducted state tests concluded that Russian aircraft armed with R-77 would have an advantage over US jets armed with AMRAAM. Given the time period article refers to Aim-120A and by extension to Aim-120B since it had no range advantage over the A variant. Note: I do not speak or understand Russian! google translation of the article: yandex translation of the article:

First (and only) prototype of upgrade Su-27S/P to Su-27SM standard previosly served as demonstrator of Su-30SMK and Su-30KI. With new configuration of weapons, avionics from RBKB and radar N001V developed by NIIP named after Tikhomirov take first flight in 12.2002, then was displayed to public on MAKS-2003.
-
the upgraded Su-27S didnot had.. but the neu build of Su-27SM had. the 1st prototype of Su-27SM with Designation Su-27SK Nr: 305 was shown in Maks 2003. so in DCS we allow our self to use the neu one

before any one from ED say the word clasified! ED can give us Su-27M* based on the existing FC3 Su-33 and Su-27 : - 12 paylone hardpoint (like Su-33) - refueling capability (like Su-33) - cheff, flare 96 *2 (like Su-27) - refreshing the cockpit with MFDs - bit enhanced radar, N011 Radar instead of N001 - adding R-77 like J-11 and adding some range to it, and called R-27EA - it will be awesome, if they choose thrust vectoring version bort #711 Aka Su-37 - and if you made it clickble full fidelity.. wow I buy per order Who is with it? * "I edit this post many times to fit in reality, from S-27SM to Su-27SMK to Su-27M"

in the 1st mission of Su-27 Fortress Mozdok campaign: - there is static plane placed in wrong position (Taxi-Way) cause of collide with another AI plane. need to be placed in the marked blue. - and the S-300 and SA-11 are both checked as late aktivation but there is no trager to aktivate them, so they never spawn! in the 2ed mission of Su-27 Fortress Mozdok Campaign: - the S-300 and SA-11 are both checked as late aktivation but there is no trager to aktivate them, so they never spawn!

is this upgrade of FC3/FC2024 MiG-29A or new fully fidelity aircraft? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2024-12-21/

I also think 130 km is overkill.

By the way, some people may understand me wrong or did not want to understand my example about EA in the Battlefield franchise. I don't prefer or comper one to each other Games. its about the philosophy of the developer company. EA Battlefield in some point Wanted to emtade the rival (CoD) and for some years ignored huge part of the community which they loved the core and the origin of Battlefield. and like always when you can't be more original than the original. EA lost to CoD. so 2 points: - do not emtade the rival. - do not ignored part of the community.

@Chizh Thanks for your react. Another pages from same book that show when the production items of the bureau entered the service. At least you now know what you said you wanted to know before releasing it.

@Chizh And this is an interview with Vympel missile production officials on YouTube: at 12:38 Vympel chief designer describes R-27P/EP launch mode without even having necessity of turning on own jet`s radar for target designation. Longitudinal mode (in Russian ФиО) This paints clear picture about R-27P/EP use cases and clarifies that it can have targets designated for it by pilot locking target on the HUD and can be launched like R-27ET in longitudinal missile aiming mode. And can home in on even fighters that are flanking away. as long as seeker is picking up radar side leafs and evidently can be used to the same effect as R-27ER when attacking cold targets
