  1. I had to bind it to keyboard to get WEP to engage. It didn't work by mapping a throttle button. Try that maybe?
  2. exactly what data are you looking for? A buddy just bought me a birthday Spitfire so I've got a bit to look while it's downloading. I'll be happy to search for a bit.
  3. And I see what YOU mean. Your IAT was based off cockpit gauge. That one was my fault. I think we're both trying to argue the same point. The engine IS performing properly but it's not getting the speed that it should. All I was trying to say was advancing it "past the stops" allows it to achieve the rated speed, regardless of needle readings. Something is off, whether it be drag, the gauges, or the actual speed performance. With the Corsair we have right now an FW-190 can and will run away from you and that should not be the case. The only way we currently have of fixing that performance is by utilizing a bug. For the record I fully agree we should fully be frying bearings at 3500-4000 rpm (and 4200 is INSANE)
  4. False. i did provide pressure data. I inputted 29.95 right off the altimeter. Where are you seeing temperature in my screenshots? not being snarky, i'm sure if it was a snake it would have bit me. I just put in 32deg F because it was a lot more likely than the balmy 80deg F that it was at sea level.
  5. from your own post. You're flying WOT and achieving 235 kts IAS. At your altitude you should be getting ~343ish knots. You're not quite at 20,000 ft. I did *not* convert your TA into IAS based on your picture. I just trusted your 235kts was right..isn't it?
  6. Thanks for that keyboard shortcut. I was looking for that. Based on that your airspeed is about a hundred knots low off the chart I posted. Admittedly I got that snippet from a forum that had a website with performance charts linked BUT the original source site has been shut down. It's the best I can find in a short time...i wanted to throw numbers less and fly more
  7. Oh really? Show your work.
  8. it doesn't even get there with WEP. These pictures are with WEP on and off at 18,500 feet. Top is WEP off, bottom is WEP on (after at least 5 minutes..my green warning light was on)
  9. Since it got deleted in the other thread, here's the speed comparison between the Fw-190 and the F4u I just did a test run and I cannot hit these numbers at any speed, any configuration at any altitude with the prop pitch at 2700 rpm and the engine at straight & level flight, with or without WEP. Knots are in plain numbers, MPH is in (###).
  10. Pausing doesn't work in Multiplayer...which I primarily fly in because I haven't quite mastered the mission editor yet. Agreed about the obsession to perfect detail this community has sometimes.
  11. As I posted in another thread..it sure is nice though when you need to get up to get a beer or use the restroom, or most recently run after a wayward dog that has something he isn't supposed to. I 100% approve of its inclusion. The corsair doesn't trim as nicely as some of the other warbirds.

    Attitude hold?

No but it sure as heck is nice when you need to get up to get a beer or visit the restroom. 100% approve of this inclusion.
  13. Well there you go. The original test pilot says that the FW-190 were about equal in rate of roll. Two separate sources, one quoting a book by the original test pilot, one quoting a report. That should be good enough for Eagle Dynamics & Magnitude.
  14. @BIGNEWYFound on a forum post. Sadly the link to the original book it was quoting is long dead but it claims to be from one of the original Corsair test pilots. BTW I fully agree that the handling is atrocious. I was just flying in a MP with a guy i've flown with for quite some time (he's no DCS rookie) that described the Corsair flight as "handling like a bathtub."
  15. I'll back this up. Neither the gunsight intensity nor LH/RH release selector works for me either.
  16. Auto Start worked just fine for me. I did have an issue with wingmates crowding me on the deck but after a try or two I got up in the air and all the way to the Tirpitz just fine.
  17. I can't start Tora Tora Tora either. Same message. Will try the other ones.
  18. Yeah your cyl head temp gauge is pegged. Also keep an eye on fuel: your main tank runs dry at about 45 gallons and you'll need to switch it back to the center reserve.
  19. https://silodrome.com/japanese-zero-fighter-plane/ Now there's no excuse. We need a Zero to go along with our shiny new Corsairs! P.S. Long time lurker, first time poster. Hi!
