  1. Well the mission editor uses trigger commands to start and stop processes. While we are unable to pick up objects (e.g. the Flag) an alternative could be to let an object move along a route to the 'enemies base' and when it either gets destroyed or reaches its destination it respawns at its original location. I don't know yet wether we can create a point system in our missions or that it is merely win or loose, but maybe we can use a counter trigger to track how many times the object has finished its route and once it reaches the desired amount of 'rounds' the mission fails for one side and succeeds for the other. Very funny idea and with creative use of triggers it might actually be possible I think! I'd like to take on the challenge so if you want to seriously look into it drop me a note (PM) so we can put some ideas on paper with a bunch of people and make the DCS CTF Missions! Just for kicks! ;) Credits go to Kenan! :P BTW Raikov, welcome to the community. ;) *whispers* But try not to use the word 'game' too often, unless of course, you're always flying in arcade mode. 'Simmers' tend to be a bit alergic to the word 'game'.*/whispers*
  2. Is there a way to delete the utilities buttons? I want to undo the utilities I have assigned. Thanks!
  3. A little late, I know. But I had a BIG smile all the way through your vid, DPS. Very well done. :) Who's the 'blonde babe' anyway? ;) I guess a lot of people are just watching the vid, but don't have a youtube account, like me. So we can't vote.
  4. I'd be interested in a color version of the manual, but wouldn't pay more than 50 euro's for it. I remember the printed manual for Lomac (which I ordered); great idea and well executed, at least initially. The game got a major overhaul patch not too long after that which changed a lot of things rendering the manual 'outdated', to say the least. I would be very dissapointed to shell out 50 euro's for a color manual while it would be outdated within a year. I don't know if there are any plans for printed manual customers to have some sort of update programme where you can keep your manual up to date with coming patches? If not I would only shell out the extra cash for a color version when its guaranteed to remain current (e.g. no major changes to the KA-50 in-game).
  5. TheMoose I think you're missing the point a bit here. Eventhough the majority of the community is english speaking or at least has the preference to go for the english version of the product, there is much debate going on about wether the cockpit should be in russian or english. There are a lot of people who waited for the english version to come out, but still use the russian cockpit to add to their immersion and feel for realism. That's a different thing than the whole product being in russian. Just look at the printed manual thread for a few examples of how people look at the russian vs english cockpit issue and I bet most (if not all) use an english version of the software.
  6. Just a quick note to you Skypat! Thanks for this wonderfully handy utility! :) Great job!
  7. While I agree that the Russian labels are more realistic, I prefer to go for readability for two reasons: a) With limited time to play I'd like to get to know the switches quickly b) In the heat of battle I can easily find what I need Mind you, once I know all the frequently used buttons by heart I'll probably switch to Russian, but for now English is more comfortable.
  8. See? and so we learn! :) Thanks and sorry for the incorrect input. Russians... pheh. ;)
  9. Good post. Rep inbound, sir.
  10. Jettison weapons (or fuel tanks) is a procedure to drop it from the aircraft/helo. In case of emergency maneuvers or in case of empty weapon holders/fuel tanks for example. You do not want to inadvertedly jettison your load though, so that's why the jettison system needs to be armed first. It's not the weapons you arm, but the jettison system. See it more like setting it to stand-by when you arm it, ready to drop the load. Disarm it and you cannot jettison anything.
  11. Very nice movie, Moreno! Well done. I like the professional setup of the movie with the title and credits. :) Music was very suitable (for me at least) as well. I only wonder if the presented scenario is realistic. I don't think KA-50s would be tasked to do naval missions. ;) But nonetheless it was a stellar movie! Rep inbound!
  12. It looks all very sexy, but I am VERY worried if people can actually play with decent performance at all... Remember that the initial LockOn at first was a dramatic experience for many people, at least performance wise. I surely hope Black Shark will have decent performance. But we'll see! Great bones you throw at us, though, ED!
  13. Both from the official server and lockonfiles do this. I tried re-starting, re-downloading... The patch just keeps on giving me that error at that file. :joystick: :pilotfly:
  14. I keep getting an buffer underrun error when the patch is extracting and is finishing the file "zweiblau". The patcher closes and I am unable to patch my game. Any fixes?
  15. It's ridiculous to compare a civil flightsim with a combat one. MSFS focusses on the 'procedural simmer' where LockOn focusses on the 'combat simmer', make no mistake, two very different type of flightsim experiences. If you are a MSFS AND Lockon fan I'd understand if you like to see more 'procedural' stuff implemented in the combat sims, but 'combat simmers' don't have to support that view at all. Of course it would be nice to have fully functioning TACANs all over a given map and of course it would be nice to have more realistic ATC or full blown accurate cockpits complete with every procedure and non-normal and abnormal checklists, but the focus of LockOn, or any combatsim for that matter, is not on procedural stuff. It's action oriented and I rather see more accurate representation of combat related stuff in combatsims instead of being able to track a TACAN for example. Realistic Wingmen comms and tactics, realistic FAC comms, ability to plan and communicate with all forces on a mission, SAM reaction times and yes, one thing that I do miss: emergency procedures in case of being hit. IL-2 is more of a rival to LockOn than MSFS, if any. Two different era's are again two different gameplay styles and therefore won't fit the bill for every combat simmer either way. Cheers. EDIT And the crybabies screaming IL-2 1946 is 'starwars' and killing the series are full of it. You still have the same content as their so beloved game v4.05, so what exactly is the problem here? If you don't like the protoypes then don't use em.
  16. Ah thanks veit! My TIR4 just arrived so I don't need the view on the stick anymore. Better stay away from those lua and cfg settings then! :D
  17. Great, thanks everyone for the superb input! Merry X-Mas!
  18. Hi guys, I was wondering if someone knows a few URL's with good reads on tactics used by Airforces. Basic Fighter Maneuvers but also Air to Ground tactics, Anti-AAA or SAM, etc. I am currently focussing on the A-10, so any good (practical) reads about this a/c are welcome! Thanks
  19. Thanks, Fudd, but I don't want TDS to work with the mousestick. I want the view to respond to the mousestick. In some mod on Lockonfiles I read something about 'cockpit mouse enabled'. This might be what I am looking for, but there's no instruction on how to do this...
  20. Well if you could enable the view to behave in the cockpit the same as in external views (mouseview) then the mousestick on the X52 would automatically function as the view control without editing. Any options or mods to enable 'in-cockpit-mouseview'?
  21. I am sorry guys, but I tried a search and can only find thread about people stating they use the mousestick on the X52's throttle for viewing or TDS, but not how to config this correctly... My profile for the A-10 is nearly complete although I'd like to have mouseview binded to the X52 as well. Maybe I am overlooking the obvious, if I do, please forgive me, but could someone please point me into the right direction? Thanks heaps! :joystick:
  22. It runs fine. The X200 is a DX9 card, however it has serious trouble with the latest shader technology, eventhough it's fully supported. Luckily Lockon uses 1.1 shaders and therefore runs quite ok on medium res!
  23. The Saitek is a killer HOTAS system. If you already have one, then except if it has technical diffulties, I'd just put in some time to get the config just they way you want it. I am sure you will find that it offers more than you need in the end.
  24. Hi guys, Me being away from home for some time don't like the idea of being cut out of playing Lockon, so I was wondering if my laptop will be able to run Lockon in a decent playable manner? AMD 64 Athlon 3200+ 512 MB 333Mhz RAM 128MB ATi Radeon XPress 200 According to the minimum system specs on the site I'd say it would, but we all know Lockon is a bit different than that! ;) Maybe with the improvement updates in 1.11? What's you scope on this? And please, no senseless ramblings...
  25. Thank you all for the feedback. At least I know for sure its a driver issue, so its one that can be solved one way or the other.
