Version 1.6.5.1 Released Version 1.6.5.1 is now available. Version 1.6.5.1 Changelog -added option in preferences to automatically keep default kneeboard clear of default charts NOTE: With this option checked, just open Kneeboard Builder after a DCS World update to automatically clear the kneeboard of the default charts. This feature will not affect any other user files that are added to the default kneeboard.

I'll see what I can do.

Sometimes files will get mixed around or changed after updates so here are some steps to try if the Dynamic Kneeboards aren't working: 1) Delete the folder 'KneeboardData' at \Saved Games\DCS\Data\KneeboardData 2) Look in 'Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts\net' and see if you have an 'events-original.lua'. If you do, delete 'events.lua' and rename the 'events-original.lua' to 'events.lua'. 3) Open Kneeboard Builder and close it once it fully loads (this should rebuild all of the files you deleted) 4) Fly one of the quickstart missions and see if the dynamic kneeboards work. 5) If the kneeboards work in a quickstart mission, try them in a multiplayer mission.

Can you upload or PM me your dcs.log file found at \Saved Games\DCS\Logs\dcs.log right after you try flying a mission. Thanks.

They are located here in .dds format: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Terrain\A-10C\Maps If you want to edit them in Photoshop you will need to use a .dds plugin like this one from Nvidia: https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop

DCS: World Virtual Gunsmoke Competition - July 2015

Here is my July 2015 Hawgsmoke attempt. Thanks Bunyap. --AlaskanGrizzly AlaskanGrizzly July 2015 Hawgsmoke.trk -
The right panel in Kneeboard Builder doesn't show what is currently in each kneeboard, it just shows what you want to add to the kneeboard. Use the View menu in the menu bar to view the current contents of each kneeboard.

That is an issue with the Mig-21 kneeboard font scale being different than every other DCS module. I will take a look and see if I can remember which LUA file needs to be modified in the Mig-21 directory.
-
It sounds like you will need to ask the creator of UltraMFCD. I am not sure how his program is interfacing with DCS and if it makes any modifications to the way the kneeboard is rendered by DCS.

Lost Eagle Dynamics Program listing
AlaskanGrizzly replied to tusler's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Just make your own shortcuts for both using 'DCS_updater.exe' found in 'Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin'. Create a shortcut for the DCS_updater.exe and add 'update' or 'repair' to the target box. For example: Update: "F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update Repair: "F:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" repair -
Are you running Windows 7?

Could you try this prior version of Kneeboard Builder and see if it has the same issue when you try to open the position screen. (Don't update when it asks you) The kneeboard import feature probably won't work with this version, but changing the position should. This is just to help me see if a recent update has caused the issue. http://s13solutions.azurewebsites.net/apps/KneeboardBuilder%201.6.2.3.zip If it is still not working you can also try this .Net Framework Verification Tool from Microsoft to see if there is a problem with your .Net 4.5 installation http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135

In your 'Kneeboard Builder/Images' folder, look and see if there is an image file named 'a10.png'. It looks like it cannot find that file. If it is missing, double click the 'updater.exe' and it should replacing the missing file(s).
-
Good to hear it is working for you now. Thank you for your patience,
-
Try this: 1) Navigate to the '\Saved Games\DCS\Data' folder and delete the "KneeboardData' folder. 2) Open 'Kneeboard Builder'. The 'KneeboardData' folder will be rebuilt automatically. 3) Add the 'dynamic kneeboards' to your kneeboard. 4) Try running a multiplayer or single player mission again.

Skulleader, Do you see 'gsdll64.dll' in your main Kneeboard Builder folder? What language are you using in Windows? Are there any special characters in the filenames of the .pdf files you are trying to import? It looks like you might me experiencing an error with ghostscript, but I am not sure of the cause yet.

Version 1.6.4.1 Released Version 1.6.4.1 is now available. Version 1.6.4.1 Changelog -fixed program crash caused by splash screen REMINDER: For optimal functionality, don't place the Kneeboard Builder folder in an elevated directory, (ie 'Program Files' or 'Program Files (x86)') as you will need to run as an administrator to allow Kneeboard Builder to write to its own directory or the program will crash on startup. Running Kneeboard Builder as an administrator will disable the .pdf file drag and drop feature due to a security feature built into windows.
-
stephen2102 and Nimitz87: I think I have pinned down what is causing the program to crash for you. It looks like the splash screen of all things is causing problems in Windows 7. I will try to put out a fix (or remove the splash screen all together) later today. Thank you for your assistance.
-
Just to clarify, after you import a .pdf file and try to modify the imported group the images in the group are blank?
-
Nimitz87: Have you tried keeping Kneeboard Builder on your desktop or somewhere out of 'Program Files'? It may be having read/write issues due to insufficient permissions in 'Program Files'. You can also trying running it as an administrator, as that should give it sufficient permissions. However, keep in mind that running as administrator will prevent the .pdf drag and drop feature from working ( a windows security feature). You will still be able to manually add .pdf files though.
-
It looks like it isn't finding your DCS World install directory correctly. Have you checked in Options -> Preferences to see if it is pointing to your steam DCS World install directory?
-
I apologize for all of the issues you are having. I have some ideas I will try out that might fix it. It will be a little while though as I have some large projects I am working on for work. Thanks for your help. EDIT: It looks like the splash screen is causing the problem. I will be working on a fix for it.

I hate to open another note on MSVCR110.dll crash

You will need to upgrade to 64 bit windows. 32 bit is no longer supported.
