Less players to enjoy the wonders of the MiG-29 including me . I don't mind a release on the 1st July as long as it's playable much like the FC3, and no, I'm not saying I want a rushed product, I just want something to fly in.

Pretty sure they delayed the release, not to speculate but i think its going to come out early/late september but thats only an opinion.

Ukraine uses modified N019 radars & that is why you can only find them on upgraded N019 Radars** They also state IMPROVED Ukrainian built R-27ER & ET thanks to the Luch State Design Bureau and the Artem State Joint-Stock Company) "On February 28, 2007, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine A.S. Gritsenko announced the allocation of 7.7 million hryvnias from special funds of the Ministry and the state budget of Ukraine to complete the development of the modernized version of the MiG-29. As the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoly Toropchin said in an interview, the modernization of the MiG-29 aircraft should extend their service life to 35-40 years from the date of production, and the engines - up to 20 years, which should have made it possible to operate the modernized aircraft for another 15-16 years. Since at that time the military-political leadership of Ukraine had not yet decided on the content of the military doctrine and the country retained a “non-aligned” status, and the financing of the armed forces was limited, it was decided on a “small program of modernization” of the MiG-29 to the level of the MiG-29MU1 (which was supposed to be an intermediate stage to a promising modernized version of the MiG-29MU2). The modernization of the MiG-29 to the level of the MiG-29MU1 is aimed at increasing the detection range of air targets, improving the accuracy of injecting the aircraft to a given point and expanding the capabilities for monitoring and recording the functional parameters of the technical condition of the aircraft, engine and a number of onboard systems. In the course of modernization, the fighter undergoes a major overhaul with an extension of its service life at the Lviv Aircraft Repair Plant, is painted in “pixel” camouflage, the aircraft is equipped with a receiver of the SN-3307 satellite navigation system manufactured by Orizon-Navigation integrated into the avionics (due to which the accuracy of navigation and the range of use of automated instrumental landing equipment are increased), the Phazotron-Ukraine specialists are replacing the N019-09 receiver unit with the onboard N019 radar (which made it possible to increase its reliability due to the use of a new, more modern element base up to 10-20 thousand hours). In addition, it is reported about the expansion of the radio station’s frequency spectrum to meet the requirements of ICAO. The use of improved Ukrainian-made missile weapons (230-mm medium-range air-to-air missiles R-27ER1 and R-27ET1 manufactured by the state-owned company Artem with a launch range of up to 95 km and promising 170-mm Gran short-range air combat missiles with a thermal homing head, the development of which was entrusted to the Luch State Design Bureau and the Artem State Joint-Stock Company) should also contribute to improving the combat effectiveness of the aircraft. As of the beginning of October 2012, the cost of the program for the modernization of one MiG-29 to the level of the MiG-29MU1 (excluding overhaul costs) was 2 million US dollars. In November 2014, the cost of modernizing one MiG-29 for the armed forces of Ukraine was estimated at 29.166 - 29.167 million hryvnias (about 1 million US dollars). Just a quick correction to my earlier statement: the R-27 seeker does, in fact, operate in the same frequency band as the N019 radar. However, there are important distinctions worth clarifying. N019 Rubin & R-27ER is not compatible. Only N019M & N001 Mech or greater. BUT the R27R is compatible with the N019. The R‑27ER seeker uses a different set of time-multiplexed X-band channels than the R‑27R. The original N019 Rubin radar was hardwired to generate the R‑27R’s waveform parameters, but the R‑27ER introduced a new waveform profile to prevent NATO or compromised systems from spoofing or using it. Now about the seekers; Having the same seeker models is irrelevent, It is the Radar that provides the frequency & main channels for guidance that determines how or if the R-27ER will guide. All the X-band guidance channels for the R-27ER have been changed because the Chief Scientist at Phazotron sold the Americans everything on the N019 Rubin radar & the R27. Schematics, detection & tracking, guidance & jam proof testing. This is why the R-27ER does not have a lot of open-source intelligence on it. The N019M & N019ME Radars are still classified not offered to any NATO states. Yes, the heads may physically be the same R-27R & R-27ER, but the N019M Topaz Illumination and main channels use different frequencies than the N019 Rubin within the X band & are then multiplexed. The R-27ER guides to N019M & N001 Mech main channels, not the N019 Rubins. NATO knows all the main channel frequencies of the N019 Rubin & can jam them. Why would the Soviet Union develop the R-27ER throughout the mid 80s, to deploy it in 1990 & knowingly allow it to be guided by the same N019 Rubin radar that the Americans already compromised, having the N019 Rubin & R-27 schematics, jam proof data, detection, tracking & guidance frequencies as well as the state recognition system of the USSR? I hope this clears things up and explains why the 27ER is incompatible with the N019. The only MiG-29A I know can carry the ER and 77 is a modernized one, A specially tailored Serbian Mig-29SM+ that is similar to the Syrian MiG-29SM that are upgraded 9-12A airframes too. They both have N019ME radars R-27ER (AA-10C Alamo C) – "a modification of the R-27R missile with the installation of a new rocket engine, which has a larger supply of solid fuel, inside a modified rear part of the fuselage, characterized by a greater length and larger diameter. As a result, this model has a greater long-range range. The guidance system of the R-27ER missile cooperates with the N019M Topaz (‘mod. Slot Back I’) radar of the MiG-29S light front-line fighter and the N001 Mech (‘Slot Back II’) of the Su-27 heavy front-line fighter. This model, along with the R-27ET and R-27EP missiles, officially became operational in 1990." The guidance system of this model cooperates with the on-board radar type N019 Rubin (‘Slot Back I’) of the MiG-29 light front-line fighter and N001 Mech (‘Slot Back II’) of the heavy front-line fighter of the Su-27 type. That line of thinking leads us down a speculative path. Just because something is technically possible with enough modification doesn't mean it's ever been done. By that logic, almost any missile could be retrofitted or tweaked to work with almost any system, which kind of defeats the purpose of realism when modeling something like the MiG-29. As for Artem, they don't produce legacy R27 seekers as all ukranian MiGs underwent modernizations with new radars such as MU1 & MU2 which tweaked the old radar N019 to support the R27ERs as well as already having a limited amount of MiG-29 9.13s

The MiG-29 being simulated is an Export Version of the MiG-29 9.12 (изделие 5). If ED is consistent and implement the exact Avionics of the plane they got the model from, then the radar would be the N019EA which is a slightly downgraded N019 made for export. As for the armament, the MiG-29 woulld be able to carry 4x FaB 50-500 **The information about loadout are taken from the Serbian Flight & the original MiG-29 9.12 manuals, but they are essentialy the same planes.null

The export radar was downgraded, and also it could not carry the ER anyway too. However not all hope is lost, there are multiple mini modernazations of the 9.12A such as the AS supplied to the Serbians which included a new radar, since it wouldn't make sense to just scrap al 500+ MiGs just because a radar was made obsolete. however -> "N-019EA is the version supplied to Warsaw Pact countries. Lacks “SP” mode. N019EB is an export variant for general export. More downgraded. Less capable TS100.02.06 digital processor. Lacks “SP” mode."

Exactly, maybe receiver in the head makes all the difference huh? Also please read what I wrote. That's a good point, although I think it's the N019, since if ED was gonna go through all the troube of simulating the N019M they might have aswell have made the 9.13

Because it was never adapted for the N019 Radar, as I stated before, the R27ER entered service well after the N019 Radar was discontinued so there was no need to adapt it for the old radar, please read. I guess the russians should've though about adapting the 27ER for the N019 just incase in 35 years if a full fidelity MiG-29 9.12 is developed in full fidelity, it would be able to carry the 27ER

Topaz has increased ECM resistance, new software, and a more advanced built-in monitoring system." - N019 Radar | MiG Alley Military Aviation News They use the same seeker, but to make the seeker compatible with the new Radar (N019M) they had to tweak its frequency to make sure the radar was able to illuminate the target. Also as I said before, why would they adapt the missile for an obsolete radar? Which had its bands & frequencies compramised which tactically made it useless due to all the ECM. also; As for the Ukrainian statements, I cannot find anymore but it was a study by Korolov Zhytomyr Military Institute which seems to have been deleted or so hidden away by new information. If you're still not convinced, here is a task for you; find a picture of an unmodified MiG-29 carrying/firing the ER or a source which explicitly shows that the MiG-29's N019 radar was capable of firing the R27ER which I assure you, you won't simply because it was never a thing.

That's the weapons computer which is field programmable and obviously can represent missiles which its programmed to know. Funnily enough its how they fooled the MiG-29 SUV to mistake the harm for the R27EP. But the radar (N019) wouldn't be able to guide in the R27ER since they changed the frequencies which the seeker operated & the new radar for the R27ER to improve its ability against jamming after the N019 radar got compramised by the CIA which made the radar obsolete and therefore there was no reason to produce a new serial missile for a discontinued radar which has been totally compramised. Even the ukranians reported that their own domestic production R27ER was incompatible with the N019 radar but they managed to make the N019 radar compatible by modifying the transistor to match the frequency of the R27ER seeker. Not sure if it's the same for the ET since its IR guided, but possibly may also be true for it too. Also the DLZ (WEZ in aMeRiCaNo) and SUV (FCS in aMeRiCaNo) has no control over what pattern and type the R27ER will recognize for compatibility, it is all done by the radar which uses its sensors to gather critical info such as speed, azimuth, trajectory... of the target and only then hands it over to the SUV which uses the data to calculate a probabilistic launch parameter (DLZ). This means that that only radar compatibility, not the SUV or DLZ, determines if the R-27ER can be used, so just because it shows up, doesn't mean it can be launched. This just makes me puzzled on how DCS thought that the R27ER could be carried on the MiG-29 9.12 unless it was a modified one with a new radar (N019M) which from what I know and found out it isn't a retrofitted MiG-29 9.12.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking, through all the sources I've searched there was no trace of the ET/ER or other energetic missiles except for manuals from the 9.13 onwards with the new Ts100M computer & N019M radar which the unmodified Mig-29A does not have, although I'm happy the ER and ET added, would make this plane that much more competitive.
