  1. I know the 44th Server has played around with LOTATC on their dedicated server, cause I was fortunate to join it one night and experience "live" AWACS support from one of the 44th members. So now I am wondering if any of the other Servers have considered running LOTATC on their servers. Obviously it would be setup to only function whilst there was an AWACS airborne for each respective team, (a feature which is already possible in the latest release). The next step then would be, who is nominated as AWACS driver for each side as there are currently only 2 x AWACS clients slots possible, obviously one for each side. If everyone who joins a dedicated server on Hyperlobby could be bothered to join that Servers Teamspeak server, what a unique experience they would be in for, to actually talk to the other pilots on their side and then coordinate with and via the AWACS guy. Maybe this is all too much to expect on a 24/7 basis, but perhaps some special times could be set aside for a Red V Blue mini campaign of protect AWACs etc and where TS was now not only fun and immersive but possibly mandatory for participation. I can hear the desiganted AWACS guy now screaming into his mic about how many fighters he can see heading his way while he is trying to vector his fighters onto them. This is not a wish list, cause it already exists, can be done, has been done. Maybe we can use the forums here to promote the event and get ourselves sorted out first. I would do it myself but I only have 512/512 and I am thinking of a more the merrier situation. Just gunna post this in general as well.
  2. Jetfire=Genious Outstanding Followed the instructions in the readme and had Flaming Cliffs as default Folder A and 1.02 as folder B. I had also reset mom.dlls back to original from previous endeavour. I launched Folder B (1.02) and flew Exited back to Launcher Launched Folder A (Flaming Cliffs) and flew Both were short flights but there was no indications of any problems, all appeared to work perfectly.:cool::cool:
  3. Jetfire, both Crow and myself successfully launched Lock On 102 via the method you suggested with mom.dll Now to have a look at your latest version.
  4. A question Nice work Jetfire, I got your app firing up off Hyperlobby no problems, but I am wondering how you are treating the issue of multiple installations. I currently have C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Lockon.exe AND C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On102\Lockon.exe as two installations to fly 1.12 I am good to go to fly 1.02 I must rename the folder "Lock On" to "Lock On112" or anything to remind me that its the 1.12 install, and then rename the folder "Lock On102" to "Lock On" This is necessary because my registry only knows about an install in the first address, ie C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Lockon.exe If I use your app to try and launch the Lock On102 path I get a runtime error as is to be expected. Did I miss a feature of your multiple install solution?
  5. FS Autostart Looking good, I am running two installations; 1.12 and 1.02 and use the "folder rename" approach, which is easy but awkward. Crow and I have been using a utility we found somewhere called FS Autostart, which I believe was created for the FS crowd. This little app can shut down any unnecessary services and apps running prior to launching the main app and also launch other apps both before and after launching the main app. We typically use it to "trim" the pc down for flight and launching TrackIR and HL then from HL launch the Lock On. After you exit the main app it reinstates any services/apps that were closed and we then usually have it relaunch msn and whatever else we normally like to have up when not flying. Very easy top configure and it creates shortcuts for each main app. I have one for HL and one for Lock On and one for LOTATC, depending on what needs launching first as the main app. Anyhow I just thought this may be of interest to you all for this purpose or simply in general use. 6. Sigs Not withstanding all the other great ideas, I see a lot of nice sigs here and perhaps a signature that promotes Lock On 1.02, Flaming Cliffs and Hyperlobby, could be adopted by all who want to help the recruitment drive, and then frequent the Ubi forum. The sig could be hyperlinked to a sticky right here on lockon.ru, detailing all that is needed to know how to get connected. There may be a lot of new guys for whom getting FC and HL working may require some assistance. A determined presence in the Ubiforums with the sigs, working like billboards, should improve the pick up rate. If they dont read the threads details, they cant help but notice the sigs. Main points: Fly/Learn Lock On Online pvp up to 32 players http://www.lockon .ru Flaming Cliffs Hyperlobby Spice it up with some nice grafix: Linked back to a concise well written sticky on lockon.ru We need to push the Teamspeak thing too, it would be great if everybody thats online in HL atm goes to the trouble to join the hosts TS server. It takes no time at all to creeate a new server and makes the Blue on Red experience so much more coordinated and less frustrating. The thing is we have to make it all as easy as possible for them to participate,as the learning curve is gunna be steep enough once they get in there.
  7. AWACS LINKED TO GAME Brothers, here is some feedback on your latest Beta of the Server/Client 0.999a. I launched the LOTATC server and turned off all radar except for AWACS (set to 400 km) and linked to in game AWACS. I Launched a Network mission, the default F15 COOP, and had one client join me in game and another friend launch the client LOTATC. As usual he was able to monitor the movement of our 2 F15s from the taxiway and gave us constant updates on the threatening Su27s. What we wanted to know was that if we shot down the AWACS would he lose the ability to see anything on the scope. Well after dragging the enemy up to our own AWACS and then failing to protect our AWACS. A persistent Su27 (AI) shot both myself and my mate down and so we watched him close for a gun kill on the AWACS. Our other friend running the AWACS client gave us a running report on the bandits movements as we in turn told him what was happening in game. Everything that he reported as happening was exactly what we were seeing, including his spiralling death dive. At the exact moment that he impacted with the water, he reported that he had a dead AWACS screen...no contacts. This in my opinion is a great feature of your program and I just wanted to point it out for any who may not have been aware of it. Keep up the good work
  8. Damn, My first post and I am in trouble already. Sorry Dmut...jumped in head first without reading the rules. Killer is compliant
  9. Andrew Thank you for going to the trouble of making your video of the airshow. I am sorry I missed it, however your excellent tribute gave me a pretty good idea of just how good those guys are. I was particularly taken with your choice of soundtrack, the haunting "Great Gig In the Sky" has been a longtime personal favourite of mine, and your adaptation of it was beautiful Thanks mate, and keep up the good work
