  1. Guilty! :D Moving to Windows 7 asap though.
  2. Hmm, just guessing here, but i'd say i was hanging around 25-30 fps during the hectic stuff, at worst. Using i7 920 cpu and 6 gig Ram here.
  3. My computer is nearly 2 years old, and i could easily make this movie using early builds of the sim, and get pretty good frame rates.
  4. DCS: Lawnmower, gonna be kick-ass. :D
  5. Lol, that sounds like a really cool idea actually. But i have no idea how that stuff works! :P
  6. Thanks, and yes, the "idea" came from that clip basically, just with my own twist. And yes, the bullet impact sounds are from that clip as well. :)
  7. Thanks! :) Coming from a talented movie maker like yourself means alot ;)
  8. There's no "Oscar" for movie trailers either, and this is where my promo fits in anyway. ;) But anyway, i make my scenes based on how the music goes, and the music sorta drives what scene i will make. If you have some static shot, with some action, during some real hectic music, the scene will look dull, and out of place. Not everyone will like what you do, but when 98% of the people out there do, im going with the crowd, and what actually *works* for these kind of flicks. :)
  9. Um, not 1 single shot in my movie was done online. It's just me and the AI ;)
  10. I've got'n your point all the way through this discussion, but i already told you that, such a movie you are asking for will most likely be made, in one way or another! :) *My* point with "Project 10" is to promote excitement over a new sim coming, trying to also appeal to the fans that likes to blow stuff up, as well to all who loves aviation in general and so on. Now let's not continue this discussion, we obviously both want the same thing in the end here. ;)
  11. Let's call my promo an "attention grabber", and let the next PR stuff come when it's due, and then the people will get an insight into this simulation. This is the *first* real video of DCS: A-10C, so why should the first one be a "boring" demonstration video, when this video can get 10 times more people interested first? :)
  12. There are no visual FX added. Only color and contrast adjustments. Well, i did add some Heat haze over the runway in the shot with the 2 F-15's taking off. But that's it basically :)
  13. Oh and this, you sorta just answered your own question here. If indeed "similiar" promos are on the market, etc, and they are in fact drawing huge costumer numbers and so on, this is exactly why the promo is the way it is today. It's a formula that works! :)
  14. Just a general question for you, how do you know that i (or someone else for that matter) wont make a more detailed, more refined promotional video for DCS: A-10C Warthog? :) I did this for Black Shark remember. Going over the sim in detail on what to expect. But a story based promo video does indeed sound kinda interesting to pull off, and as the movie goes along, describes different aspects of the sim. In due time... :)
  15. Again, see the bigger picture behind the trailer, and you will understand. Better yet, look around at how other companies are marketing their games/sims etc. Trailers like the one i made really grabs the viewers attention (or that is what i wanted anyway) so the viewer will get curious about what this sim is all about. Then go and read and look at other clips etc of the sim. If we went the way as you wanted it, by only showing "realistic training sessions" over and over, and some very simple overview movies of this sim, do you really think that a mass audience would be *that* interested? If they're already into sims, sure, but what about the other half? Think about it :)
  16. How can it be, when they are 2 different movies?
  17. Ok gonna try to answer this as best as possible... First of all, you watched this movie *without* sound, and that takes away pretty much EVERYTHING i wanted to achieve with this video, delivering a dramatic, action filled trailer, by using a mix of realistic sounds and sounds from in-game. About shaky cams; Have you seen youtube footage where the camera is pretty much in the middle of the action? Like war footage, aerial combat, people filming close to explosions and high tensions etc... Is the camera just staring at something and not moving? Nope, it does in fact create a lot of movement. Oh, and do they do this in movies/trailers for action scenes? Yes they do. Another reason for the "dynamic" movement of the camera, is because i am making a movie using a PC GAME (or sim in this case), and it looks utterly crap, IMO, if the camera is dead locked in space and time, does *not* give the immersion factor that i am aiming for. Over the top in some cases, maybe, but clearly this has helped my movie rise above the others. :) And external views overused? Really? Seen any A-10C shows? I hardly think using lots of external views is "cliché". Besides, if you want a movie where all you see is Cockpit footage, this trailer wouldnt have appealed to the bigger audience out there. I know i cant please everyone, but please dont forget the goal of this promo. It's not just for people on this forum or in the sim world. You clearly missed the point of the start of the movie, by showing the A-10s powering up and taking off. It's to sort of "build tension". Even though its a trailer, by having lots of random shots, i still tried to at least have some "build up". :) Still appreciate comments though. You just have realize the bigger picture and purpose of this trailer. I'm basically using a formula that has proven quite effective over the years, by comparing real life clips of the A-10c, with what we see in huge blockbuster movies, and how most movie trailers are built up. Cheers :)
  18. Project 50 is really old, but you can find it on my youtube channel if you somehow missed it. :)
  19. Hehe ... ;) Regarding the views, i didnt find any "new" angles to play with, so they are basically the same as in FC 2/Black Shark. It's just about beeing creative i guess. :) Release date? How about "2010", for now? ;)
  20. Water is transparent now, so you can see the ground along the shore lines through the water. Really looks quite good. :) And again all, thanks for all the comments etc! :)
  21. Thats the normal F3 flyby view, but i just edited it so the plane wouldnt be in the center of the screen. The view actually slowly pans down, giving the effect that its not a perfect "synch" with the plane.
  22. Here's a picture of how the intro originally looked like. I didn't like it that much in the end, so i changed it. Also, i took a screenshot of the logo sequence to show that i am a detail-guy! I bet noone noticed the detail in the "disolve" effect on the logo? :D
  23. And yet so true! :D I can say right now, the performance in the build i used to make the promo (at least the more recent builds) was extremely good. Felt like it was running smoother than Black Shark at times. :P Hopefully the final product will be just as good, if not better. :)
  24. From wiki: " Roman numerals are numeral system of ancient Rome based on the letters of the alphabet, which are combined to signify the sum (or in some cases, the difference) of their values. The first ten Roman numerals are I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X." It's basically something i did becuase it *looked* better than having the number 10 in the intro. ;)
  25. Hehe .. ;) The heat haze above the runway is a visual trick with After Effects.
