My opinion? I believe ED did not miss any TRAIN - The ' I told you so' slant to your post is pretty apparent but what is not very apparent is the fact that ED has extremely good reasons for their decisions . Each product is fine in it's own right . When Black Shark is released you will probably be doing the 'my game can beat up your game' routine over on the 1946 and FSX forums. -
Estimated release: delayed.?

One can substitute terms in the following and apply it to some here... Aw, Man! Why Can’t I Have What I Want? The High-Demand Child: Part I -- The Problem Lynne Namka, Ed. D. ? 2006 Some children today seem to suffer from the “I Want It Now Syndrome!” They think of something desirable (and often expensive) and keep themselves and you miserable with their demands. Their lament is “Can I have _________?” without the slightest hint of reality that they will not get the desired object. They have low frustration tolerance and set themselves up for disappointment and hurt by their unrealistic expectations. Persistent pester power often works as the child keeps nagging the parent who eventually caves in and forks over what is desired. The child learns that: l.) If you don’t ask, you don’t get it; 2.) If you keep asking, you are more likely to get it; 3.) It doesn’t cost me anything to keep asking, so why not keep on going?; and 4.) Parents sometimes wear down and give in if the child is relentless in asking. The child can be single-minded in pushing for what he wants -- this is the concept of entitlement. In some children there is a lack of guilt and shame that their actions are irritating others. Unfortunately, many of today’s generation of kids are learning the entitlement skills to become tomorrow’s pushy telemarketers -

I could not dissagree with you more - Blackshark or the ED representation of the KA-50 ( even in its current state) has no competition past or present. When it is released it will stand on its own and speak for its self. I do not understand why people think ED bashing actually achieves anything... these guys work very hard to push the limits of desktop simming and this is the gratitude they recieve - be greatfull they are doing what they do regardless of delays or what not. -

rockwelder replied to TekaTeka's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
How does this head set improve performance over the current clip? -
Why didn't ED do these add ons first!!!
rockwelder replied to Mizzy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Because they wanted to do other things.... Not much else to say. Do not worry, ED will be showcasing some interesting stuff in Black Shark...then after that who knows - sky is the limit. -

This is the best movie/promo I have ever seen... -
call it "MAKO"

As promised: Black Shark Promo video here!

Not quite sure if this comment can be chalked up to attention deficit disorder or flame war initiation. I think you should be greatfull ED is creating simulations. With comments like these that it is no wonder release dates are subject to the "when it is done" response. -

UMM... you...lol -
bet ya I will get one for that...watch me...

1.I can not dispute your points. 2. The product sounds good- the only issue I have is the price. As far as im concerned, I would like one or more of these at a price I am willing to pay - That is the free market - either it be by discount or ebay I will get one or two at a price that makes me happy. I am patient... Every one will be happy...
-
There will be a market for it, but not for me at this price. To each their own - you can get angry but there will be people who take issue with the price and those who see no issue at all.

12800 = 16 of these puppies @ 200.00 bucks = 3200.00 plus bucks. Don't mean to knock the product, but I feel a little bit poor. This item should be priced 50 -70 dollars.

Too expesive for a glorified programmable keyboard. Our hobby is expensive enough.
-
Blackshark is going introduce true pilot workload.

The level of interaction between man and machine modeled in BLACK SHARK will be the result of dreams made real by talented and passionate simlovers like youself. Patience, the level of detal takes time to re-create...the time will be worth it.

I have been experimenting with Ramdrives andLOMAC . I loaded the whole lomac demo on to a ram disk and no stutters fast as lightning load times..simply awsome. Since you cannot fit FC on a ramdisk with 1GB - is there a way to get the program to point to the ramdrive where certain folders could be placed?..BTW I have tried the graphics config. route of editing paths to specific .cdds libraries - it works. I want to know if there is a way to load whole subfolders such as the effects folder? any thoughts?
-
Where exactly does it say this?....looks like a tiling texture making plug to me. Is there a Compression process?
-
Thanks, that did it...
