  1. 13 October 2023 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, An interesting aspect of the DCS 2.9 update coming soon is a substantial improvement to Voice Chat, and we think you will enjoy it. We would like to extend a special thanks to our Closed Beta testers who have provided valuable feedback to help tune this great feature. DCS 2.9 will also see a dramatic improvement in the realism and detail of datalinks in the DCS: F/A-18C, DCS: F-16C Viper, DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer and DCS: AH-64D. Currently, player aircraft are limited to exchanging data within a Mission Editor aircraft group. With 2.9, each aircraft type is assigned a unique identification that is used to create a network. This allows the creation and editing of datalink networks whilst on a mission. Get ready for DCS: MAD Black Shark Campaign by Stone Sky. This upcoming campaign will include 12 narrative missions for DCS: Black Shark 3, custom liveries, and missions from Special Operations Forces close air support and combat search and rescue. Stay tuned for the release! Thank you again for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Voice Chat Improvement To ensure improved immersion, our new Voice Chat system now uses real-world audio physics to modulate the sound of your voice in order to replicate radio effects. To create more life-like communications, distortions, signal loss, and interference are simulated. These effects will vary based on the era of the radio, meaning, voices in modern aircraft will be clearer than in warbirds. We are also making improvements to the radio and Voice Chat Room interfaces, allowing you to find your friends in multiplayer more easily. Soon, Voice Chat will be rolled out to all other DCS modules, starting with the ‘Airboss’ for DCS: Supercarrier. We are also working on a separate voice chat program, which will allow you to communicate with units in multiplayer servers without having to actually run the simulator. Please subscribe to the newsletter in the Personal section on our website for more details coming soon! Datalink Development Report Both the F-16C and F/A-18C include the Tactical Network Datalink, or TNDL. This allows the creation and in-mission editing of datalink members. Members can exchange air-to-air and air-to-surface targeting information. Both aircraft types can exchange data with each other. Please enjoy these videos by Matt Wagner on the DCS: F-16C Viper | Datalink Update and the DCS: F-16C Viper | HARM Targeting Update with TDOA. To get familiar with datalink in the Hornet, make sure to check out the DCS: F/A-18C | Datalink Update video. DCS 2.9 will also include datalink for the AH-64D. This datalink can currently only exchange data between other AH-64Ds. It features the ability to send and receive participant locations, targets and threats, waypoints and hazards, routes, and more. It also allows the sharing of fuel, ammunition, rockets, missiles, FARM and reports between members. Watch the DCS: AH-64D | Datalink Setup and DCS: AH-64D | Datalink Messaging. The DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer datalink will also benefit from an update in DCS 2.9, allowing you to configure Track Numbers for A-10C II aircraft as members and donors across groups. MAD Black Shark Campaign by Stone Sky In the upcoming DCS: MAD Black Shark Campaign by Stone Sky, you will take part in a civil war in the Persian Gulf region. Great ready to operate the Ka-50 Black Shark 3 from an aircraft carrier and travel across the entire DCS: Persian Gulf map. This campaign includes both single-player and multiplayer gameplay. Key Features: Missions from Special Operations Forces CAS and CSAR missions Assault operations in large cities 12 narrative missions with English and Russian localization Over 1400 triggers and story radio dialogues Custom liveries for KA-50-3, UH-H1, UH-60, JF-17, Su-27, and Su-33 Detailed documentation and kneeboard Multiplayer available for two players We hope you enjoyed the update on the new Voice Chat features and improvements to the datalinks. Please note that these features are planned for the DCS 2.9 Open Beta update. We look forward to your feedback! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics
  2. 06 October 2023 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are pleased to inform you of the most recent changes coming to the F/A-18C and F-16C air-to-air radar detection modelling. Notably, we have further refined how the radar detects targets based on a realistic set of probabilities. Take a look at the technical explanation below. Stay tuned for the feature drop in the upcoming DCS 2.9 Open Beta! DCS: Mi-24P Hind will also receive a wealth of improvements in the upcoming open beta update! You can look forward to exciting Petrovich AI enhancements and an updated SPO-10 Radar Warning Receiver (RWR). More details below. Bogey Dope is an ex-USAF F-16 Crew Chief that creates easily digestible DCS tutorials, cinematics, and missions on YouTube. His channel is a great resource for DCS pilots, and we encourage you to check out his channel and show him your support! Please note that if your Steam account is bound to your DCS account, you will not be able to log into the Steam version of the game and will encounter a 403 error. This change has been implemented to enhance security and streamline access to DCS. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics Air-to-Air Radar Improvement In our previous White Paper regarding Phase 1 of improving the F-16C and F/A-18C radars, we discussed advances in how we calculate detection range based on Pulse Repetition Frequency (PRF), average transmitted power, receiver noise figure, antenna area, and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR). You can find this White Paper here: Eagle_Dynamics_Radar_White_Paper_v1 (digitalcombatsimulator.com) For Phase 2 of radar model update, we will be accounting for the following: Fluctuation of Target RCS. Real targets have complex shapes, and their linear sizes are often larger than radar wavelength. This means that radar returns from different parts of the airframe may add or cancel each other depending on their relative phase causing the RCS to fluctuate. In our approach, RCS is approximately constant during dwell, but randomly changes from dwell to dwell according to exponential distribution (this approach is known as the Swerling Case I model). This results in non-constant detection range and target detection probability. Noise Variability. Detection probability will also depend on the noise level, its variability, and the number of Coherent Processing Intervals (CPIs) per dwell. Because the noise level continuously changes, the target may or may not be detected in a particular CPI. For example: There are three CPIs per dwell in HPRF RWS mode, and for successful ranging, the target should be detected in all three CPIs. Obviously, the probability of detection in all three CPIs is lower than the probability of detection in one of three CPIs or in three of eight CPIs (like in MPRF mode). In HPRF Velocity Search mode, Post-Detection Integration (PDI) replaces Frequency Modulation Ranging (FMR). In that mode, signals from three CPIs are summed to make noise fluctuations smaller and thus minimise the probability of false alarms. This allows lower threshold sensitivity and increased detection range without increasing false alarm probability. Mode-Specific Range and Doppler Resolution. Closely spaced targets may not be resolved individually, and they may be displayed as a single target. Return energy off such targets may fall into a single doppler range bin and result in detection at longer ranges. Velocity resolution depends on CPI duration. So, in HPRF with three CPIs per dwell resolution is better than that in MPRF mode with eight CPIs per dwell (dwell duration is constant, so CPIs are shorter). In RAID mode, up to four CPIs may be merged into one, thus increasing velocity resolution four times. RWS HPRF mode uses linear frequency modulation for ranging, and it has poor range resolution (in order of 2 nm, which improves four times in RAID mode). In MPRF mode, range resolution is defined by range bin size and it is always equal to 150 meters. Atmospheric Propagation Loss. The atmosphere absorbs radio waves proportional to its density. So, at higher altitudes, detection range is greater than at low altitude. In summary, the Phase 2 changes provide a more realistic simulation of radar detection probabilities that will have more variable detection ranges, low-quality/spurious detections, more accurate RCS effects, and modelling of radar modes. In Phase 3 we will focus on false targets, look-down performance, and improved modelling of Single Target Track (STT) mode. Mi-24P Hind Development Progress Recent DCS: Mi-24 Hind development has focused on additional Petrovich AI features, an SPO-10 RWR system update, and tuning of the swashplate control limits. Petrovich AI is getting new and more realistic target scan behaviour to deal with the same issues that real crews cope with. You may have noticed that Petrovich AI now lists all the targets he can see only after his sight is enabled and can be slewed. We've decided to improve this interaction with Petrovich AI by restricting him to the same limits as a human operator. The new target scanning system involves a deeper analysis of the target area and its surroundings. It will analyse the target area for any threats in the vicinity. After that, the algorithm calculates the search time based on the number of objects surrounding the target. With this new system, only targets that are clearly in view will be recognized instantly, while targets that are hidden by trees, bushes etc. will take longer to spot. The more objects surrounding the potential target, the longer it will take for Petrovich to detect it. The updated SPO-10 RWR will consist of four channels with completely independent processing, the same as in the real system. The radar detection calculations are physics based, they calculate the radiation pattern of the transmitting source, the sensitivity of the receiving antennas, and the transmitting power of the emitter. This translates to detecting low-power radar emitters and shorter range and vice versa. Detection range will also vary based on bearing to the emitter source. For certain radars, the range can also be judged based on how frequent the detections are. The system will now only detect emission sources within the operating frequency range of the RWR. For instance, early warning and search radars and some other radar types will not be detected. We are also refining the pitch and roll channels authority based on comparison data. Our earlier version was based on the Mi-24V swashplate limits. Compared to new Mi-24P data, it should have less authority in pitch and roll, and we are correcting this discrepancy. This will make DCS: Mi-24P Hind 10% more responsive to pitch and up to 24% in roll input changes. BogeyDope Promotion Please visit BogeyDope's channel! His goal is to grow the DCS community by breaking down the complex topics into manageable tutorials. This is a fantastic resource for new DCS pilots learning to fly complex aircraft. Watch his channel and please show him your support! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

What to expect in DCS 2.9 and later in no particular order: New Voice Chat features and immersive radio effects Datalink improvements for F-16C, F/A-18C, A-10C II, AH-64D New cinematic camera view New 3D models like B-1B Lancer, B-52H, S-3B, S-3 Tanker, C-RAM, S-300PS AI aircraft behaviour improvements Troops transport on player-controlled vehicle Nvidia DLSS support And more…. We look forward to sharing more about the list of new features coming to DCS 2.9 in an upcoming newsletter. Please stay tuned! Multiplayer Development Report The new multiplayer server user interface adds more convenient ways for you to interact and choose aircraft slots in a multiplayer server. This capability, which has been a highly requested feature by the Community, will permit you to view all aircraft spawn slot locations on the map and to select directly from there. We also added a filter system for the slot list that will be built into the interface. So when a slot is picked from the list, the map view will jump to that slot location. Additionally, we are completing a new kind of aircraft slot that will be dynamically added by the filter system based on the availability and inventory of the airfield warehouse. This new dynamic system will not replace traditional slots but will add convenience for mission designers and will coexist with regular spawn slots. The system of dynamic slots will distribute spawns to parking positions automatically and will not need any additional placement of aircraft from the mission designer. When spawning in a "dynamic" slot, users will be able to choose aircraft type, hot or cold start and all parameters that are available in the rearming panel. We are in regular contact with community server hosts and content creators who are helping us greatly with their excellent feedback. This includes new yellow shirt plane directors and brown shirt plane captains. Aircraft will be handed off between multiple plane directors to reach their assigned catapults with realistic animations. Closed Beta Testing of this is on-going. This is a complex and time consuming task to account for a myriad of conditions that could “break” the logic. Thank you for your patience as we strive to complete this new feature soon. F/A-18C Pilot Model Development Progress We are thrilled to present you with the above screenshots of the new F/A-18C pilot’s helmet and facemask. There will be two versions of the helmet. The first is the U.S. Navy JHMCS flight helmet with a Digital EyePiece Night Vision Cueing Display (NVCD) option. The second is the U.S. Navy HGU-68P flight helmet with AN_AVS-9(V) NVG night vision goggles, via the Banana Mounting adapter option. The Gentex MBA-20AP facemask, with new US Navy microphone, will also be integrated with the helmet. The helmet will include convenient mapping and a texture template so that you can customize it and add your squadron’s emblems! SPQR Multiplayer Server The SPQR multiplayer server features all the modern aircraft (generation 3 and 4, including the F-15E) and rotary wing aircraft (AH-64D and Ka-50 III) available in DCS. The only limitations are no GPS-guided glide bombs and cruise missiles. Key features: The frontline objective locations are marked on the F10 map (circles representing general location). Real-time statistics tracking is available using SpecialK's DCSServerBot (plus many other bot features) Integration with the DTC user-mod that will automatically import objective waypoints (based on real-time frontline location) Yink's EWR tool provides an "overlord" type picture/bogey-dope in text format CSAR missions help preserve your coalition's attrition (which affects frontline movement) The server offers missions for everyone: A2A, A2G, SEAD/DEAD, Naval operations, etc The server is hosted on high-end hardware that offers high frame rates with no lag. 8. 25 August 2023 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are excited to announce the DCS: F-104 now under development with our third-party partners, Aerges! More than 2’500 of these fabulous interceptors were flown by 15 nations from the 1950s until 2004. The Lockheed F-104 was a lightweight, Mach 2 interceptor with phenomenal rate of climb and excellent roll rate thanks to its unique, high wing loading design. During its service, it set multiple performance records including airspeed, altitude, and time-to-climb. A hallmark of the “Century Series” of USAF aircraft, the F-104 will be a must have for DCS Cold War pilots. Aerges is also looking forward to bringing you their latest update on the DCS: Mirage F1. Offering exciting enhancements and the two-seat EB variant! Please read the details below and check out the https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/. DCS Indonesia - Garuda Virtual Air Wing, together with DCS Malaysia, are proudly hosting the Asia Region Combat Competition finale! Join them live and please show some support for the quarter final event showcasing aerial prowess and determination in DCS. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics F-104 Announcement The Aerges Team is excited to present their upcoming DCS: F-104 module. Using the experience gained developing the DCS: C-101 Aviojet and the DCS: Mirage F1 modules, they will certainly deliver the most accurate simulation of this exceptional and iconic machine. Designed by the legendary Kelly Johnson, of P-38, U-2 and SR-71, the F-104 was initially designed to counter the threat posed by the MiG-15 over Korea, and later the MiG-17. Equipped with a single J79-GE-19 turbo jet installed in a very small and lightweight aircraft, the F-104 had excellent airspeed and acceleration qualities that outmatched aircraft of the same era. Armed with a 725-round M61A1 20mm autocannon and up to two AIM-9 Sidewinders, the F-104 was a within visual range fighter that relied on high-speed slashing attacks rather than turning dogfights due to its poor turn rates. Although optimized for the interceptor role, it could also be armed with unguided rockets and bombs for ground attack. An AN/ASG-14T1 ranging radar and fire control computer enabled the F-104 to search for aerial targets out to 40 nm and track them within 10 nm. The F-104 took part in the 1958 Taiwan Strait Crisis and played a deterrent force during the Berlin Crisis of 1961. Between 1965 and 1967, it flew 5,206 sorties during the Vietnam War. In 1971, Pakistani F-104s took part in the Indo-Pakistan War. Mirage F1BE Development Progress Aerges is happy to announce that the Mirage F1BE (two-seater) is now entering the final testing phase before public release. This version will be ideal for conversion training, and it will provide the opportunity to fly with friends in multiplayer using DCS multicrew. The second seat adds an additional 30 cm to the length of the aircraft, which results in reduced internal fuel and the removal of the twin 30mm cannons. All other combat capabilities are retained from the single-seat version, with the loss of the internal cannons and internal fuel being compensated for with the addition of cannon pods and external fuel tanks. The back seat also includes a heads-up sight repeater which is unique in DCS. The addition of the Mirage F1BE adds an interesting role playing option for the Mirage F1 pilot journey. Starting with the C-101 to learn basic airmanship, then transitioning to the Mirage F1BE, a part of the Mirage F1 Basic Course (B-Course), and then concluding with a Mirage F1 tactical unit. Aerges provides this unique experience, available nowhere else in DCS World. ARCCO F2023 The Asia Region Combat Competition welcomes spectators, aviation enthusiasts, and the media to follow this remarkable display of aerial artistry. Witness the triumphs and challenges as virtual pilots take flight and be crowned the true Air Supremacy Champions of the Asia region. The event will be streamed live online, allowing viewers from all over the world to witness the action as it unfolds. Treat yourself to a thrilling showcase of skill and dedication as teams compete in heart-pounding BVR and Dogfights for glory and recognition. Join them this weekend for the quarter finals. Thank you for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,
  9. 18 August 2023 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, DCS Open Beta to version 2.8.8.43489 has recently been released. This update includes the eagerly-awaited MultiCrew feature for the Mi-8MTV2 helicopter! This immersive addition allows you and your ‘crew’ to operate this iconic aircraft simultaneously, bringing the concept of teamwork to a whole new level. We are also delighted to share a preview of the new pilot model for our beloved DCS: Mi-24P Hind attack helicopter. Please read the details below and see the Development Screenshots. Stay tuned! The DCS: Mi-24P The Border Campaign by Armen Murazyan is now available. This immersive and exciting campaign for the Hind offers simple but detailed mission briefs, 12 narrative missions and a wide range of tasks, including patrolling, escorting convoys with weapons and transport helicopters. Finally, don’t forget that the B-17 Livery Competition is ongoing, and this is your last chance to enter and win prizes. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics MultiCrew Development Progress The eagerly awaited MultiCrew functionality and the corresponding changes for Voice Chat and Cargo Ops support are now implemented with the most recent open beta update. Enjoy! Four crew positions are available including the cockpit crew and the side gunner. We have added new functionality to MultiCrew join requests permitting the crew commander to see the various role requests. The DCS: Mi-8MTV2 has specific AI crew functionality for the mechanic-technician (center cockpit seat) such as the on-demand monitoring of the yaw autopilot channel. If a human player takes this role then the AI functionality ceases to work automatically and switches over to the specific player to manage. While working with cargo, the mechanic-technician is moved to the rear cabin for cargo ops observation and management. Mi-24P Hind Development Progress We are nearing the completion of the Hind’s first person ‘in cockpit 3D pilot model’. As a matter of interest, the work on these models is a relatively sophisticated process. Here are the key steps: Stage 1 Pilot Figure Modeling: The basic articulated human body is selected and the desired clothing style and fabric is laid over it. The analysis of original flight suits, parachutes and crew equipment along with photographs, videos is collated. Additional talks with pilots and SMEs are made to iron out any fine nuances. Facial modeling to a suitable character is developed with skin and detail texturing to follow. Stage 2 Placing pilot model in the cockpit and animation: In-cockpit animations are selected with a view to delivering natural man-machine interface as well as realistic body, head and eye movement. More specific animations, such as leaning into the aiming sight and interacting with cockpit control panels are determined and fine tuned for realism. Finally, each crew member is given an animation for simulated incapacitation. From the VR point of view, our goal is to deliver realism and immersion and make you feel as though it is your own body. The Border Mi-24P Campaign Prepare to embark on an immersive journey, fraught with adrenaline-pumping action and strategic decision-making. Set in a war-torn region, you will face challenging missions that will test your piloting skills and tactical prowess. DCS Mi-24P The Border Campaign offers a rich narrative experience, packed with thrilling combat scenarios. Make sure to download it now. Enjoy! Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

Please note that the DCS Summer Sale 2023 ends on the 16th of July, 2023, at 25:59 GMT. GFM Development Progress Following the completion of tight formation GFM implementation our current GFM task is development of algorithms loose formation behavior. Due to the large turn radius for loose formation modes, wingmen must follow their own independent trajectories in order to position correctly on the leader. New algorithms are being developed to take both kinematic trajectories and pilot/aircraft visibility conditions into account, similar to what real pilots must to keep their lead aircraft always in sight. Stab and trim position during speed changes The above graph is a recording of the stab trim position during acceleration and deceleration. As increased power creates a nose-up pitching moment, the stab trim positions are not the same for acceleration at max AB and deceleration at idle, especially at low speeds and requires more nose-down input. Mach-related changes are noticeable near Mach 1. We are really excited with the progress being made and are confident that the wingman GFM and general AI aircraft GFM will be unique in any simulation worldwide. Please follow the news for more information as we continue to enhance this highly complex general flight model. 18. 23 June 2023 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are delighted to announce the Early Access release of the much anticipated DCS: F-15E by RAZBAM. If you haven’t already seen the video, check it out here: DCS: F-15E | LAUNCH. The F-15E, also affectionately known as the “Mud Hen”, was developed in the mid-80s as a true swing-role fighter-bomber capable of performing all air-to-air and air-to-ground missions at low or high altitude, day or night, and in any weather. The F-15E is the USAF's premier strike fighter in use today with over 220 aircraft deployed. The 750-gallon Conformal Fuel Tanks give the F-15E an un-refuelled combat radius of 790 miles (1270 km). In the air-to-ground role, the F-15E can carry just about every weapon in the USAF inventory. Air-to-air, can be armed with the latest generation AIM-9X Sidewinders and/or the formidable AIM-120C Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) and is additionally equipped with a 20mm cannon carrying 500 rounds. The APG-70 radar boasts a synthetic mapping function that creates detailed target pictures based solely on radar imaging. A self-contained, networked electronic warfare suite provides an enviable level of self-protection. The Weapons Systems Operator (WSO - back seater) is at the heart of the aircraft’s capabilities, maximizing the effectiveness of the F-15E. The DCS: F-15E features multi-crew capability and can be flown in DCS as a single pilot/WSO from either front or backseat. Despite both cockpits offering mostly-mirrored systems and capabilities, the WSO's job guarantees excellent role optimisation with a focus on the management of this potent integrated weapons and avionics suite. This results in enhanced situational awareness, aircraft survivability and platform performance with lower workloads and higher target engagement numbers. The Low-Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night (LANTIRN) gives the F-15E phenomenal accuracy in day/night, low altitude, and all-weather conditions, and enables it to attack ground targets with a variety of precision-guided and unguided weapons. Bringing this all together and placing battlespace information at the hands of the crew, the F-15E is a weapon revered the world over. Download it here: DCS: F-15E by RAZBAM. 21. 02 June 2023 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, We are excited to announce the newest addition to the DCS family - the legendary MiG-17F by Red Star Simulations! Check out the details below and get ready to take control of an aviation history icon. Development Screenshots. We would like to update you on the improvements coming soon to the F-16C and F/A-18C radars, notably realistic target detection and tracking in various operation modes. Phase 1 of this update incorporates more detailed and realistic modeling of the radar waveform that better accounts for reasonable detection range ratios between HPRF and MPRF modes. The model also has an adjustable speedgate option to select the width of the main-beam clutter notch filter, helping to reject or show unwanted targets. Please, note that this will be the initial release of the new radar model, and development will continue in future phases. SorelRo is launching their latest campaign, DCS: UH-1H The Last Show that promises an adventurous helicopter storyline. Stay tuned for the next Open Beta update! Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics MiG-17F Announcement The MiG-17 is a subsonic fighter plane developed by the Soviet Union to improve the high-speed issues the MiG-15 encountered. It became the first Soviet fighter jet to feature an afterburner which greatly improved its performance. The result was one of the most successful transonic fighters ever developed. Ultimately, the MiG-17 was flown by over 30 countries over a timespan of three decades; it was also built under license outside of the USSR in Poland and China. The MiG-17 is most famous for its role in the Vietnam War where it was pressed into dogfights against 3rd generation U.S. fighter planes. Its ambush and tight quarter dogfight tactics were so successful that the U.S., Soviet Union, and European countries were forced to re-evaluate their own aerial combat tactics and rethink future plane developments. By the 1970’s, the U.S. Navy’s Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) and U.S. Air Forces Weapons School were established to teach pilots new air-to-air combat tactics from lessons learned. The F-16 Viper was a direct result of the lessons learned in Vietnam while fighting the maneuverable MiG-17; it's no coincidence that the F-16 was also the first fighter jet that was able to out-rate the MiG-17. Headed by two pilots, the Red Star Simulations' primary focus from the start was on accurate flight dynamics. Using Soviet wind test tunnel data, performance manuals, U.S. testing results from a captured MiG-17F, and with the aid of several current MiG-17 pilots, the MiG-17F Lim5 module for DCS has been developed with the most realistic simulated flight dynamics ever produced on a MiG-17 plane. Flight dynamics key features - Turn and climb performance, 0 to 40,000+ feet - Dynamic stall and flap performance - Slow-speed/high-AOA drag - High-G drag - Dynamic engine (speed/altitude/thrust) performance Plane key features - ASP-4N gunsight with SRD-1M gun radar - SPO-2 Sirena RWR - SRO-2 Khrom IFF - ARK-5 ADF radio and navigation - Standard and Egyptian upgrade weapons Please follow the news for more information about this fascinating addition to DCS. Radar Development Report Phase 1 of our new radar model for the F-16C and F/A-18C provides more realistic radar target detection and tracking in different modes of operation. It incorporates many new features like signal-to-noise ratio calculations that determine a target’s detection range, signal-to-clutter ratio, and receiver dynamic range calculations. The latter may limit detection of small targets in the presence of strong ground clutter. The new modeling also better accounts for the unique aspects of different waveforms. For example: Velocity Search (VS) and Range While Search (RWS) both include High Pulse Repetition Frequency (HPRF) waveforms; however, RWS provides range measurement because it uses Frequency Modulation (FM) ranging, that also results in a loss of sensitivity. Our model accounts for such losses, and detection range depends on the type of FM-waveform. Also, HPRF modes can only detect closing targets; detection of low aspect targets are generally limited by strong side-lobe clutter. The Medium Pulse Repetition Frequency (MPRF) mode has eight distinct waveforms. Whereas the use of so many waveforms cause a proportional reduction in the signal-to-noise ratio (thus a reduction in detection range relative to HPRF), it does provide all-aspect target detection aside from beaming targets that may be obscured by main lobe clutter. Phase 1 of our new model accounts for these effects, and faithfully models the detection range ratio between HPRF and MPRF modes. Another new feature is an adjustable speed gate option. This provides the ability to select the width of the main-beam clutter notch filter that adjusts the threshold of minimal radial velocity that can be detected. This may assist in filtering unwanted, slow targets. Upon Phase 1 release and tuning, we will implement Phase 2 that will include the effect of radar azimuth and bar settings on detection ranges and the inclusion of more accurate look down radar performance. UH-1H Last Show Campaign The Huey Last Show is a fictional story-based campaign that will test your skills as a helicopter pilot, in 15 missions you will be facing various challenges and various missions while confronting the forces of the Soviet Union. The campaign features 15 story-driven missions, over 2000 voiceovers and late 1970’s units. A full-scale conflict will progress throughout the campaign and you will be required to complete various missions: SAR, RESCAP, Gunship, Transport, SOC Ops. Also included are detailed briefings, kneeboard files, and supporting documentation for each mission. Stay tuned for the upgraded airborne radar and the new DCS: UH-1H Huey campaign in the upcoming DCS Open Beta update. Thank you again for your passion and support, Yours sincerely,

This Blue Flag scenario will include various Air operations and ground warfare in the famous areas of this war. Each coalition will be able to push through Sinai to occupy all the objectives and get control of the peninsula. 1967 - 1973 Starting from the Six-Day war (1967) through the war of attrition (1967 - 1970) and finally to the Yom Kippur war (1973) of the entire Sinai peninsula. This Blue Flag scenario will include more modern air, ground and naval operations of the 70s. Along with the above historical scenarios, Buddyspike is planning 2 other impressive theoretical scenarios in Sinai. The Semi Active Radar Homing (SARH) scenario that includes Fox-1 capabilities and weapon availability of the era. As well as a modern scenario that will include all modern weaponry and ammunition. Sinai Development Report Our third party partner OneReTech continues to develop and enhance the DCS: Sinai map for upcoming early access launch. They have received a lot of positive feedback and comments since the last reviews. Thanks to all of you who commented and provided valuable information and criticism, Sinai can only get better with your support and review. Some unique scenes have already been improved and many bugs have been fixed. The destruction models are in the final stages of development. Many improvements, including the great pyramids of Giza have already been implemented, along with many other scenes, airfield details and textures. OneReTech have now added moving trains, greater variety of vegetation and birds in port areas and several models of tankers are already in the works that will complement the realism of port scenes. For Early Access launch, six new airfields will be available: El Arish, El Gora, Baluza are on the north of the Sinai peninsula. Bir Hasanah is in the middle. St Catherine and Abu Rudeis are to the south. These strategic locations will allow the recreation of realistic scenarios of the missions of the Arab-Israeli wars. “Our team has been working hard on a tool that allows you to procedurally get textures that are already used on the DCS: Sinai map. Furthermore, we have improved the tools that allow us to obtain height maps at a more accurate resolution of 1 metre per pixel, where the original resolution was 38 metres per pixel. This allows you to get textures as well as a surface mesh with a higher density using the Eagle Dynamics TDK tool. This can be used to build unique places and mountains. For example, you can make dunes in the desert not only on the texture, but also procedurally generate a surface mesh. We've included a few examples in the Development Screenshots.” – OneReTech BuddySpike Multiplayer Server BuddySpike Blue Flag is a hardcore server that challenges your piloting and teamwork skills, resulting in a truly immersive and rewarding gameplay experience.
