Ok, thanks for the answer. Let me sum it up: I lock the first target with TGP, switch to Maverick seeker, slew it to the TGP position, fire and then seek and lock the other targets with the Maverick only? That sounds good but as if a lot of practice was needed! ;-) Do you change the slew value in the Maverick seeker for that purpose? Because to me, it seems as if it reacts a little nervous sometimes.

Hi! I have a question concerning the shooting at more than one target in one run. Let's say I am 10 nm away from a group of 4 tanks that are moving slowly and quite close to eachother. I'd like to use Mavericks and the TGP for assistance. I've seen a video on YouTube where the pilot designated the tanks as markpoints (A to D) through the TGP, made up a new flightplan with those 4 points and as he overflew the tanks, he quickly switched the steerpoints and dropped the bombs. Is something similar possible with Mavericks, what would be the best method for it and if you could give me a brief explanation of the single nessecary steps, I'd be very thankful!

Hmm, it wasn't a single message. It were two big windows filled with lines. They popped up several times and were accompanied by this typical Windows error sound. The thing is that I was already able to save three different missions, but the last one messed things up and I don't know why... I'm using Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit.

Hi again! Why didn't anybody tell me that this simulation is highly addictive? ;-) I just can't stop learning and flying. I created my first mission with a wingman and when I tried to save it, I received an repeating error message. I could fly the mission, but the weather settings weren't correct and after re-starting the sim, the mission was gone. I placed 4 tanks, a SAM and 2 transport vehicles, so nothing special. Did I something wrong or may that be a known issue?

Thanks a lot! Somehow my search didn´t find anything...

Hi! Where can I get DCS forum signature banners? Thanks in advance!
-
That did the trick!!! It has to flash before I engage it, thank you very much!

Hi! I tried out what you suggested, and I waited for the INS to show up the RDY message before I touched anything, but still no joy. EAC warning light is still on and I´m not able to turn on the autopilot... And, as soon as I want to flip the EAC switch to ARM, it jumps back on its own again.
-
Hi! I start my weapon training flights now from the ramp, so I get used to starting the Warthog up. So far, everything works quite good, except that the "EAC" warn light doesn´t extuingish and the A/P won´t engage in flight. What am I missing?
-
Wow, that was really fast!!! Ok, thanks a lot! In my next mission I want to shoot a few tanks.

With your help, my knowledge and skills develop really nicely! I just finished a mission in which I destroyed several ground targets with bombs in CCRP mode and the use of Mavericks. That is so much fun, I really begin to love my Warthog. I´d like to know if there is a possibility to show up the different classes of ground vehicles in the mission editor? I mean, they are already divided in SAM and tanker and transport etc., but how do I recognize the tanks for instance?
-
Which is the key command for engine starting and shutdown? I don´t use the Thrustmaster Warthog yet! :) Thanks in advance!
-
Perfect!!! That works very well! Thank you very much!

Ok, TMS up hold when HUD is SOI designates in HUD mode and when TGP is SOI that one designates the target when holding TMS up. Sometimes things are easier than you think... And after my first hits with MK 82 bombs, I´m really happy! ;-) It´s getting better. One more question: How can I start a mission on the ramp? (to practice the startup) Thanks in advance!
-
Ok, thanks a lot guys! That really helped! I just created my first little mission successfully! Could someone please give me a hint again how I designate a target for CCRP mode with the TGP? Just a bit too much information lately... ;-)
-
That sounds good and quite simple. Will give it a try tomorrow! The mission editor looks quite complicated, but I have to learn it anyway! Thanks for your quick reply.

Hi! Ok, let's say I want to try a mission to practice my weapon usage. When I start the mission (which one would you suggest or how can I set up a simple mission on my own?), the Nav points are already loaded in the FMC and show up in the TAD display. How do I know where the targets are located? I know, this may be a complete dumb question, but isn't there something like an a/g radar showing me targets on ground? (like in the VRS F 18 when I designate a waypoint as the targetzone) Or will ATC give me instructions to find the targets? I know, the best way to learn is reading the entire manual (what I will do sooner or later). But as I would like to train dropping bombs and shooting unguided missiles in CCIP and CCRP mode right now, a quick and simple mission would fit the best. Or what do you mean?
-
It depends on my mood, and if it's a real bad Monday...;-)

I certainly do enjoy this fantastic simulation. For sure, it requires a lot of time, a steep leaning curve and even more reading. But right now, I have so much fun that I spend every free minute with either reading or flying the lessons over and over again. I am flying in simulators for about 10 years now. But I haven't been caught so badly by a piece of software since I tried out the PMDG 737 for FS9 for the very first time. Excellent, brilliant work! Can't wait for the next beta stage!

Thanks for the fast answer! But I could figure it out. A was already assigned to HOTAS speedbrake switch aft, and I assigned it to the LAAP on function too, that caused the problem... I already started to becom nervous... :)
-
Hi! For some reason, my joystick configuration is messed up. The only thing I did, was assigning the "A" key to the LAAP on (autopilot engagement). Since then, the precision slider on my X 52 isn´t deploying the speedbrake anymore but engaging the autopilot also... I wonder how that could happen. I am using the HOTAS profile for the X 52 that was suggested by one of you in this thread.
-
Hi! How can I assign the autopilot engagement button to my joystick? I can´t find any keycommand concefning the A/P in the options menu. Thanks in advance P.S.: Sorry, messed up the title of the thread...
-
No, not yet. But that sounds promising! Are the targets in there firing? For the start, I´d prefer if I was the only one shooting! ;-)

Hi again! Now I am finished with lesson 3 of the weapon system. Therefore I´d like to know, what is the best way to practice those skills? I´d like to have or create a scenario (maybe comparable to the one used in the training lessons where the static and moving targets are marked with red smoke) where I can train the use of the cannon, the unguided rockets and the CCIP and CCRP mode of the bombs over and over again. Thanks in advance for your help!
