Yeah, I see! It's a beta, at the end of the day. And running the repair tool from time to time isn't a huge deal... Have you seen the errors in my log? There are some "DX11Backend" errors in there. Is this something to worry about?

Hi there! I just got the Tomcat recently, and it's definitely some serious fun. This module feels so alive, and it's highly rewarding! Using the Auto Throttle during carrier landings, leaves me puzzled though. After the successful landing, the throttle in the aircraft won't move anymore, so I can't taxi. Why is that, and what am I doing wrong here? Thanks a lot I advance for your help!

Well, it seems so. I just had a 2 1/2 hrs session, with no freezes of any kind, although the log file (which I´ve attached) still shows some errors! The repair did definiteyl help! Thx a lot for your input! dcs.log

Hmm. That's interesting. Yesterday, it froze after landing, when I switched to the RIO seat in the Tomcat.

No, not yet. It's a fresh install without any mods. Should I try it nonetheless?

So, here´s the latest log file. It might be worth mentioning, that I ran several benchmarks and stress tests, to rule out any hardware issues. And so far, they all showed no problems... dcs.log

Thanks for the quick answer. No mods are installed. The whole install, and the machine it's on, are one week old. All drivers are up to date and no overclocking is taking place.. Where do I find the log file?

Hi there. I have the latest open beta installed (just had an update of 4GB tonight), and I get regular hangs, especially in the Tomcat. It's mostly after loading of the situation is done, or after I've landed that the game hangs, and nothing happens anymore, so I have to end it via the task manager. My OS is Win11, running the sim on AMD 5600X, 32GB 3200MHz RAM, RTX 3060Ti, Samsung 970 Evo SSD.

Hallo! Das liest sich sehr sympathisch und vielversprechend! Gerne würde ich da mal bei euch "vorbeischauen" Ich möchte auch keinen Zwang oder starre Strukturen. Habe aber trotzdem Spaß am realitätsnahen Fliegen und Bedienen dieser, in DCS so gut simulierten, High Tech Flieger! Ich bin seit C64 und FSII in der virtuellen Fliegerei unterwegs, und war, und bin auch immer wieder in Communties, rund ums Thema Flugsimulation, tätig (zuletzt primär in Sachen X-Plane). Leider habe ich aber selten, und schon gar nicht regelmäßig, Zeit, mich in starre Strukturen einzubinden. An Enthusiasmus und Motovation fehlt es aber nicht. Und gepflegten Austausch und Miteinander empfinde ich auch immer als angenehm. Aktuell "arbeite" ich mich in die Hornet ein, die F-16 soll auch noch folgen. Helis interessieren mich auch sehr. Hi there! I'm learning the Hornet right now, and it's really some serious fun! I've flown all the in game tutorials successfully. The last two, concerning the JDAM/ JSOW, using the TGP in PP and TOO mode, leave me a bit puzzled though. First, I designate a waypoint as target, which slews the TGP automatically to the corresponding coordinates. Now, I want to slew the pod manually, for seeking a parked aircraft. That doesn't work. I have a diamond, filled with the waypoint number. I've found out, that hitting SCS once more in the direction of the already selected DDI, changes the mode and makes slewing via TDC possible again. But designating the new target by pushing TDC depress doesn't work. What am I doing wrong here? Thx a lot in advance for any help and input!

So, I switched V-sync to fast in the Nvidia control panel, and it works perfectly. I even got a slight boost in fps, and the tearing is completely gone. The whole sim feels smoother now. The only "issue" I've noticed, is that the game runs in full screen now, even though that's not selected in game. I can't Alt Tab into different programs anymore, or go to my desktop...

Ok. Thx guys. I'll give in game and Nvidia Vsync (fast?) a go.

Hi there! I recently got a new machine (AMD 5600X, 32 GB 3200MHz RAM, RTX 3060Ti 8GB, 2TB SSD Samsung 970, Win 11), and I still use my old 1080p BenQ monitor, which will be the next upgrade, probably in 2 or 3 months. My graphic settings give me 70-110fps in the Hornet, and the sim never looked better for me. Except for the tearing. I haven't selected V-sync in game, and haven't chosen anything, related to V-sync, in the Nvidia control panel. Which settings would you recommend, to get rid of the tearing, while keeping the sim smooth and the fps high? Thx a lot in advance for your help!

Hi there! After a longer break, and the release of DCS 2.5, I reinstalled the sim, along with the Huey. I love flying helis (in XP as well), and I use a Saitek X55 with a removed spring, so it doesn´t have any centering force. The trimming method, using a hat switch on the stick would probably be the appropriate one, right? Which kind of trim setting do I have to chose in the setting menu for this kind of setup? Thanks a lot in advance for your input!

Frage zum Controller Setup Oh nein *facepalm*, ich hab die scroll Leiste nicht gesehen. Natürlich sind alle Controller da und jetzt funktioniert das Zuweisen auch! Sorry und vielen Dank für die schnelle, erleuchtende Hilfe! ...die ganzen Sims und die unterschiedlichen Setups und Tweaks machen mich manchmal scheinbar etwas "matschig"... :-)

Hi! Nach fast 3 Jahren Pause (DCS Black Shark & DCS A10C), hat es mich nun wieder gepackt und ich habe mir DCS World und das aktuelle A10C Modul runtergeladen und installiert. Das Setup meiner Controller bereitet mir allerdings etwas Schwierigkeiten: Ich habe den ProFlight Yoke samt Pedalen und zusätzlichen Throttle Quadrant UND ein Logitech G940 (dessen Pedale ich nicht nutze) an meinen PC angeschlossen. In FSX und X-Plane ist das kein Problem und die Achsen können über FSUIPC, bzw. XAssign in den Simulatoren entsprechend zugewiesen werden. Nach dem Start von DCS funktionieren der Stick und die Ruderpedale probemlos, der Throttle meines G940 ist aber irgendwie mit den Ailerons belegt, und im Steuerungs-Menü finden sich nur die Saitek Pedale, der Saitek Throttle Quadrant und die Logitech Pedale. Wie kann ich das richtig einstellen und ggf. die nicht verwendeten Controller dauerhaft aus dem Setup von DCS entfernen? Ich möchte hierfür nur den Stick und den Throttle des Logitech G940 und die Saitek rudder pedals nutzen. Danke im Voraus & Gruß, Michael

Hi! You're right Rusty_M, this sim is absolutely awsome. I just bought DCS A 10C a while ago. But since I am a huge chopper-fan I had to buy Black Shark too. It could be a little bit too much to learn, but I've been never so motivated to learn a simulator before. I really like my VRS Superbug, but DCS is much more than a game, its immersion is outstanding! And the community is very kind and helpful, perfect! That did the trick! Thank you so much! Now to a different question: How can I assign a button to the movement of the SHKVAL? Right now, it is only possible to assign an axis to that function. But I´d like to be able to assign the 4 way controller on the back of my X 52 throttle to the SHKVAL movement. Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, thanks for the fast reply! I never pressed C. There is a C displayed in the SHKVAL, and I thought that this would mean that I am actually in cannon mode... So, that might be my fault! :thumbup:

Hi! I am just practicing BS in its absolute basics. As my flying gets better and better, I wanted to take a look at the weapons. First of all, I read the section concerning the cannon. I wanted to give it a few rounds, but i am completely unable to fire it. I followed the steps in the manual, tried the automatic and the manual mode, bt no matter what I chose, when I hit the trigger, nothing happens. What are the essential steps in using the gun? Hmm, ich habe immer noch massive Probleme. Manchmal funktioniert es, machmal nicht. Oft geht es auch nur mit dem Drücken von "T" und der Joystick funktioniert genau umgekehrt als zugewiesen, alles sehr komisch. Ich habe die Nullzonen erhöht und bei Einstellungen der Trimmung getestet... Gruß, Michael
